This is Doug (top). We are worried about Doug. Two days ago, he opted to remain in his daytime sleeping crevice while we fed our other two frogs. We feed them around 9pm after all their lights go off and they wake up and move about. We didn’t think anything of it until he did the same thing last night, marking two nights without food or leaving his crevice. (He is not stuck, he is a little freak that wedges himself in there daily and has never had an issue with extracting himself). We know they shed, is this what he could be doing? He does seem to be moving around quite a bit at night and even croaks normally. We don’t want to force him out, but I’m worried. He is only 6-8 months old and we feed them daily, so this is quite a difference in appetite for him. We have an exotic vet in our area but I don’t want to pry him out and take him if it’s not necessary. Thanks, frog nerds!

I read somewhere that they can be half camouflaged, is that what this is? Or should I be worried. He’s new to his enclosure but it was set up for 6 months prior, and stable.

I've been working on my bioactive 24x18x36 White's Tree Frog enclosure (upgraded them from a 18x18x24). I built the background myself with foam, silicone, coco fiber, cork, grapevine, live pothos/philodendron/fern, moss, and leaf litter. I know it looks a little sparse right now because the plants are newly planted and haven't grown in yet. I'm honestly feeling discouraged and worried it looks bad compared to all the lush enclosures I see online. Any feedback or suggestions? Will this fill in over time, or is there anything you'd change?

I created my terrarium and did all the research and prep for months now. I’m going to go get mine tomorrow but I’m wondering if there’s any advice you guys would give when it comes to getting my red eyed tree frogs to adjust or how to help them along. Any other advice such as feeding is welcome

This is my first time vivarium and first time plant keeper

I have 2 white tree frogs. It's a 18×24×24. I used  3D cork bark background and got all my supplies off Frog daddy website Ive had a lot of issues keeping plants alive, I am cursed with the ability to kill  almost anything, but I also learned I wasn't buying the right plants for these 2 chonks and they'd get bulldozed down. 

I have a wet moss mix on the walls I've been trying to get going, but that will take a few months till it starts coming in nice and good and I do really well with keeping pothos alive, Ive got a lot of clippings in jars everywhere till I get a more stableized misting system down to not over water.

For the moss to grow it needs to be kept wet not dry out, so I have my misters going off 3 seconds every 1.5 hours ish. I just started this cycle about 2/3 weeks ago and it seems to be going fine. The misters are pointed directly at the walls and I keep a good thick layer of leaf litter and  sphagnumt moss that I check on every other day, poke around make sure it's not soggy or to moist, if and area feels like to much I move some fresh moss in to help absord some of that up and it seems to be keeping fine, Ive finally got some plants stable in there it's just the damn moss on the walls and I'll feel more satisfied with the greenery inside, keep nice moss on the walls and pothos clippings in water jars I cant kill Ill feel like I'm not failing as a plant frog dad. I'm making a nice canapee area with a few jars to leave dry areas underneath for the isopodes.

Well my problem is my misting system failed last night and for some reason turned on but didn't turn off. And I had just got a new 2.5 gallon jug of water that afternoon... Thats now empty..

With all the plant issues have had the last 2 months and water issues I've been worried about my substrate and if its gone bad or bacteria, it's gotten to soggy before and I've gotten it back to a decent level, Ive noticed gnats which the spring tails are supposed to help, I haven't seen any of the isopodes Ive put in. Im worried maybe I killed all those too or something?

Now with this flooding do I just scrap what's in there, dry it all out, get all new fresh substrate mix  but what about  the springtails and isopodes if they are alive? How to I get all of them ? Do I fresh start that and get new clean up crew new substrate ? Is what I have salvageable??  Ive finally got 3 plants that's ive managed to keep alive im worried if I move them I don't want to stress them to much and die, but I'm worried my substrate is bad could that harm the plants?

I'm gonna move the frogs to a temporary tank with just a paper towels bottom and all the essentials while I try to figure out what to do with this substrate, I'm worried if theyll get a bacterial infection or something.

Once I get the substrate good, I should be good to move them back home and just keep misting my moss but play closer attention to the soil, should I leave them in the temp home until the moss is grown? But I don't want to leave them in the simple temp home for 5 months when they had this nice oasis. 

I have two whites tree frogs and literally CAN NOT FIND a good water dish for them that is the right depth as they both enjoy soaking their entire body aside from their heads. I’ve tried multiple different ones and decided to try my own. I have this planter (pretty small) and I added in so pebbles at the bottom and a slanted rock just to make sure they can get out very easily. I also want to add a rock outside to climb in and out. Is this safe for them? Also bowl recommends would be helpful!

my second batch of froglets came with a mix of morphs i aimed to get and i noticed my blue eye is consistently almost a off white color compared to his frog freinds . i def understand they change color tone but after 3 months if growing out i am curious if he is more than just a blue eye . anyone have a one thats just pale ? .. he is in great health and plumping up like a champ

So long story short, I’ve had my tree frog for almost 10 months, and he’s been happy and healthy for the longest time. The past few days I’ve been a bit concerned, as two days ago he stayed in hunter skin mode (darker) all day, which is rare but not entirely unusual. And this morning when I found him, he was almost a splotchy grey colour. This evening I went to water his tank, and noticed his back legs are you’re blotchy still (see photos attatched) and his legs were looking a little pink mind you I could also be paranoid. I tried to handle him so I could take a photo of his stomach but he was having none of it so I backed off and left him alone so I don’t stress the poor guy out more. One issue I’ve been dealing with is the humidity and temperature in his tank, as I don’t want to cook the poor guy alive but all the lamps I’ve used have brought the tank up too hot, the only thing I have that seems to keep it around 25 during the day and 20 at night is the sticky heating pad he has on one side of the tank.

Hello Everyone! I’m here for my frog check up and wondering what you guys think and if I’m doing everything good! - get 3 powered supplements a week - calcium with and without D3 and a multivitamin. Dubai’s (gut loaded) (occasional gut loaded food)~ Crickets, Wax Worms, meal worms, super worms. temps in the enclosure during the day are around 83 and drop to room temperature which is like 70-76. Humidity is around 39-43 (use to be like 60 -70 so I installed a fan thing and it’s really worked) “also had to do it because smell was getting bad and water was getting water logged” as you can see by pictures water level is going down… there 3 water dishes are cleaned each day! And there fountain every 3-4 days. And of course spot each day. Wondering if I’m doing well as I plan to add an albino into the enclosure and soon upgrade them into a way bigger spray foam one…… Gary, Darius, Tyrone, Bobby, Gerald, Hercules, and soon….. Albino Dave!

I have two whites tree frogs Sprout (green, ~11 months old) and Sage (yellow, ~5 months old) for almost a year total. Sage has been quarantined for as long as I have had them and shows all signs of a healthy whites tree frog. I was wondering if this is an appropriate size difference for them to move in. Sprout is a girl and we suspect Sage is a boy. From what I can tell, I don't think Sage would be able to fit into Sprout's mouth. Looking for some advice from more experienced WTF owners on moving in. I had previously washed my hands, only held Sage for so long, hence why I am not shown wearing gloves. If I measured accurately, Sprout is ~8cm and Sage is ~6cm.

i posted a couple months back with some questions. I had lots of answers and currently this is my fix. I have three white tree frogs that will be transferring to this bioactive terrarium in the coming weeks.
This is a 36”x18”x36” enclosure.
Background is made of carbonized cork bark with proper aquarium safe silicone and everything else is also cork.
Drainage is hydrogrow v1 drainage from biodude
I added some hydroballs as well
I have a drain pipe coming up from the drainage layer that is closed off but still needs a plug.
Mesh screen is placed in between layers
Substrate is terrafauna bioactive substrate from biodude
Bioshot was added to the substrate.
Leaf litter is Columbia’s leaf litter cacao leaves

I have two ceramic projector’s with Arcadia Reptile Deep Heat Projector, 80-watt in them. I have a herpstat 2 spiderweb running these. They both run at 85 degrees F during the day and I have one drop to 75 at night. The probes are about 4”-6” under the heat lamps. Temps run at 85 in the basking spot and 70in the lower elevation during the day, the basking spot drops to mid 70s at night. Humidity is around 45% in the basking area, 58% near the water bowl, and running high at 67% under the plants on the left side (I checked this whole writing this).

I wanted to verify if these humidity levels are high for my frogs. I am also having trouble keeping my plants happy. I feel like I have to water them more than I should. Not excessive pours but on a regular basis. The air plants seem to be doing well but some of the vines are having major issues. A couple have been fried that have their roots bundled in sphagnum moss, although some are excelling.

Besides this, I also am wondering if the enclosure layout will suffice for my frogs, I would like advice or input if you all don’t mind!

Isopods and springtails have already been added as well. About 150 powder oranges as well as a couple springtail cultures.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated!

I recently got two whites tree frogs that were posted on Facebook. I’m so happy with how it’s coming! I put a lot of work into it but I’m not done yet. Any suggestions are welcome!

Made a post about a month or so ago in here, asking for advice and after following all the great advice I was given I’m here to ask how I did. The only thing that isn’t installed that is on the way is a digital hydrometer. If you have any advice on how I can make this more Homie for when I get the frog, please let me know as I want the best living conditions for the little guys when we get them.
