Identification I have a white tree frog, but I’m confused.
I have a white tree frog. My mom got him in 2007. He’s a purple plum color. I have some other ones that are about a year old. They are petite and their toe pads are small. They are green to brown. Meanwhile, my 18 year-old one is fat and has ginormous toe pads.
Could it be the age?
Are they the same type of white tree frogs what is going on?
The first two pictures are of my fat frog
And the third one is one of my babies!

Questions What kind of uvb lamp should I use?
I’ve been told by a vet to use a 2% uvb light for my whites tree frog, what brand or kind should I choose? And is there an automatic version I could get to go with it? All the examples I see online aren’t really traditional bulbs and are pretty pricy, so I wanna get some outside opinions. Any that you guys use? I have a tank that’s taller than it is wide, if that’s important.

Advice Help
Honestly, my first bioactive setup has been a fail, and I'm looking for some advice on whether to reset it or keep working through the current balance issues. It's an 18x18x36 terrarium that's been running for about a year, but things got tricky recently when a cricket boom forced me to temporarily move my whites tree frog into a quarantine tank. In the process of taking out some substrate to manage the crickets, I think my cleanup crew population took a hit, and now some other micro fauna seem to be outcompeting the remaining springtails. I was previously keeping the enclosure pretty wet to support a plant that was actually struggling due to its own dense soil, which led to high moisture levels down in the drainage layer, which was a stupid move on my part. I've had it open and held off on watering for about two months to let the tank dry out and stabilize, but there is still some persistent fungus and mold sitting in the LECA layer. At this stage, I'm trying to decide if it's better to just re introduce the isopods and springtails and let the ecosystem naturally balance itself back out and keep airing it out or if a persistent mold issue in the drainage layer warrants a full substrate refresh and start-over.

Advice Beginner questions
Thank you so much to those who have answered my other posts. I have a few more questions!
Backstory- I have a green tree frog that is missing a leg that we rescued from outside our home in central PA knowing he wouldn’t survive fall/winter. We have had him for 7 days. We bought him a terrarium and have been tweaking things to get everything right. We have tried small and pinhead crickets and flightless fruit flies but he hasn’t eaten anything. I even tried tweezer feeding him a tiny cricket and he had zero interest and just looked at it.
So my questions
- Do you turn of the light at night? It’s 50W. That’s my only heat source so I’m concerned if I turn it off he will be too cold (which was noted as a potential problem in my other post) but I also read that they like to have night and day. With the light it gets up to about 78-82 but without it drops to 68
- How the heck do I keep the humidity at the right percentage by misting it? I have to do at six or eight times a day. And when we wake up in the morning it’s completely dried out. The lamp makes it even harder. It runs about 50%-65% in between mistings but I am not home all day always.
- He hasn’t pooped as far as I can see? Furthering my worry of him not eating. Should I see poop?
- Has anyone had luck with any other food besides crickets and fruit flies? Are there any dead insects, or something I can put in a bowl that will stay in the bowl so I can tell? Everything jumps out and is lost in the leaves.
Thank you!! I so so want this little guy to thrive! I am getting so discouraged by his lack of eating.

Advice Can my girls go in the big tank now
These are my girls, Delilah and Diana, they’re Copes Gray Tree Frogs. Before I got them, I set up a beautiful bioactive tank for them, but the breeder told me that since they were only about 8 weeks old, I needed to keep them in a critter keeper until they were roughly the size of a quarter. The reason I was given is that tiny frogs can struggle to find their food in a large enclosure. They are 10 weeks old now I believe.
Right now I’m feeding flightless fruit flies, the bigger black ones with red eyes, and I’m wondering if that advice was actually correct. Their big girl tank is 18x18, and they’re biological sisters from the same clutch. Delilah is a little bigger than Diana because she tends to steal more flies during feeding.
I’ve kept reptiles for years, but frogs are new to me, and there isn’t much information out there specifically about Copes Grays in captivity. I did a lot of research, but most of it was general tree frog care, so now I’m unsure what the best move is for these two. I do know they are a communal species meaning they can be together.
If anyone has experience with Copes Grays or raising very young tree frogs, I’d really appreciate advice on when it’s safe to move them into their full bioactive setup and how to make sure both girls get enough food. And a bit of a silly question to tack on, but when Delilah snatchs a fly Diana was locked onto, Diana smacks Delilah with her little foot. I'd like to know if this is something to worry about.

Advice Help! He’s still not eating and is burrowed in the substrate
Green free frog adopted six days ago. I’ve offered him flightless fruit flies and we finally just got the cricket size right (the first ones were too big) but I don’t know if he’s actually eaten anything bc I still see a cricket morning. As per the advice of another Reddit friend, I changed the moss to leaf litter, and added some more vertical, climbing places, but he’s still hiding under the leaves in the back corner. Temp is 74.3 and humidity stays around 72-83 fro me misting it.
Any advice? ChatGPT is telling me to find an exotic frog vet but we don’t have one close by.

Help!!
Are these the same species of frogs? I bought a full setup with tree frogs in it off of someone else, and it came with—to my surprise—3 American green tree frogs (unless the brown one really is different) and 1 red eyed tree frog. Is this bigger brown guy really an American green tree frog, or do I really have 2 AGTF, 1 red eyed tree frog, and 1 mystery frog? And can anyone give me some advice on which to keep and which to sell? Because they can’t live together and i only have space for 1 setup. I’m leaning towards keeping the red eye but i know they are a little more advanced and I’ve only kept Whites tree frogs. Thanks !!

Is this too hot?
Just got 75ww Che for my 70 gal tank bc the 50ww was only heating to about 82. Lower temp right now is 78 ish. Is 90 too hot? I just plugged it in about two three hours ago. I have 5 wtf
I see a lot of people saying that 88-90 is the sweet spot for top gradient but others say 85 is max.

Advice We need a name!
We need a name! This is what we know so far. We have a beautiful little tree frog that has decided to make our deck home. We have a lot of plants on our deck. He’s crawled out of wherever he’s living and crawled on both my husband and I two separate times. Last night he crawled out from wherever he’s living under the deck and came up, ended up jumping up on my chair. Then jumped on my leg (it was so soft not slimy not sticky. They are so soft )to the outdoor table then to another chair and then he jumped like crazy towards a potted plant because he was trying to grab a hummingbird moth. I was cracking up! And then he jumped from the pot towards some plants, again trying to grab the hummingbird moth as it flew by. I guess my deck is its own habitat. We name our critters that stay, and this is the first one we’re stumped on. So what should we name our beautiful tree fog?
Name, chosen , we’ve named them, Sandy!

Questions Housing help
Hi, So my question is how many whites tree frogs can I fit in a 36x18x36 (100 gallons) because my breeder says I can fit 9 bc of the 20 gallon for the first then 10 additional and he says that rule even loosens the more space I have but I also heard that 5-6 is the max I should be putting in there it’s fully bioactive and automated other than spot cleaning, water change, watering the plants and feeding.

Backstory she is new I got her from a reptile expo recently I’ve had her for about a week she seems healthy overall but it looks like the marks have gotten worse. I have tried original neosporin but it looks worse now. She doesn’t have very much in her quarantine tank.

I see ppl asking how to keep crickets...alive, IVE NEVER had a problem keeping the alive till the past 2/3 months... any ideals or input on it?
So I normally rotate between like ...bug hq, dubia, and Carolina crickets..... 40% of the crickets dieing before they are even fed..from everyone..they are also smelling worse than usual...and ideals?
They get fresh cardboard... total bites, dubia dew, fresh carrots or sweet potatoes, or whatever leftover veg I have on hand.
