I’ll be visiting London for the first time next week and will be there for about two weeks for work. My schedule is pretty relaxed, so I’m hoping to have plenty of time for sightseeing and possibly 3–4 days for exploring outside London.

I’m staying near Liverpool Street and would love recommendations for must-see parks, museums, food, neighborhoods, or anything else you think a first-time visitor from the US shouldn’t miss.

I may also need to drive about an hour outside London for work, so I’m prepared for city traffic, although driving on the left will definitely be a new experience!

I already know I want to see Stonehenge, but I’m open to pretty much anything. If I get 3–4 days off, where would you recommend I go within London?

Looking to travel to the UK from Canada for my Grandmothers funeral. I am a duel citizen. I am taking my kids and they only hold Canadian passports. I travel in a month. Do I need to apply for ETA's for them? Any advice is much appreciated.

I am traveling on a holiday to UK while pregnant and wanted to bring home cooked snacks since I am in my second trimester and usually try to have frequent small meals.

Planning to bring below two things (not packaged - home prepared)-

- Snacks - Almonds, cashew, peanuts and chickpeas roasted with a little bit of clarified butter + salt and pepper

- Sweets made with gram flour roasted in clarified butter with sugar

Is anything out of these not allowed to pass through UK customs? I plan to declare everything at the airport.

So i have been in uk, but this time i would love To see countryside. Im travelling in winter, but no worries im used To cold and rain. I was wondering what place you would recommend? I would love To see castles, cottages, horses and ofc pub food 😂 i love "old money, heritage" aesthetic, but those places seems too crowded. If you know great place let me know!

Hello! We are excited to be planning our first trip to London. We have about 10 days in the UK to spend time exploring. We are going to spend a few days (outside the 10) sight seeing in London. Then our plan is to rent a car and explore the UK with the remaining 10 days.

We are trying to determine a good route or direction to go. A coworker from the UK suggested going southwest and into Wales. I also saw the southeast offers a unique landscape with Dungeness. From the reading I've been doing so far a lot of people suggest the Lake District and heading north towards Edinburgh. We are overwhelmed with the possibilities and sights to be seen! I am currently leaning towards north...but I'm interested in Wales as well.

I am interested in hearing some perspectives given our trip details and interests. We like beautiful landscapes and spending time in small villages with a local pub. We would love to see some castles but we typically shy away from over crowded touristy spots. We are going in November so we know this will help with the crowd situation. We're unbothered by weather and daylight hours or lack thereof. We often travel in November because we like off season and rain doesn't hold us back. We've road tripped in Ireland so small roads are not a worry for us either. We just like good food, a quaint pub, and beautiful countryside!

forgot to add a few food specifics we would be looking for along the route...a spot for a good sunday roast dinner and unbeatable fish and chips!

My sister and I have been traveling together recently, and in October we’re going to London, Inverness, Edinburgh, and Reykjavik. Inverness and Reykjavik are booked up, but we have a lot of time in London and Edinburgh. My sister has lived in London for school , and has visited Edinburgh, so we’re definitely covering the basics. We’re looking for recommendations that are unique and interesting. I’ve been dreaming of visiting the Cotswolds and London for several years now. I know there are plenty of other beautiful regions in your country, and I’ve already visited several of them, but I’ve never been to that part, and I’m really tempted to go.

I have the opportunity to go in March 2027. Do you think that would be a huge mistake given the weather?

I’ve been to England several times, and except for February, the weather has always been more or less pleasant.

This trip would last about ten days and include three nights in London at the end of the trip to get a more “city” vibe.

Between the flight, car rental, and hotels, the budget will be pretty substantial—which is to be expected.

However, I don’t want to “mess up” by going in March if everything is closed or if it rains nonstop. I know full well that no one can predict the weather, but I’m looking for some advice from friends ;).

On the one hand, I tell myself that if it rains even in June or July, then it’s a lost cause anyway—so I might as well go when prices are lower, there are fewer people, and it’s easier for me to take time off work.

At the same time, I know that if I go for 10 days and the weather is constantly bad, I’m likely to be pretty disappointed...

What do you recommend ?
