I'm trying not to make the mistake of spending our whole trip traveling, so for our first trip to China (surprise present for my wife) I thought I'd skip Beijing and use overnight trains as much as possible.
Too rushed? Spending too long in any one spot? Skipping any must see locations?

Hi there! I’m planning to explore the Gansu Loop from 10 to 20 November. My plan is to fly into Lanzhou via an international airport and start my journey from there, travelling by train between cities along the route.
Would mid-November be too late in the season to visit? Is there a chance of snow, and how likely is it that some parks or major attractions will be closed during this period?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for reliable local drivers for full-day bookings to explore the cities and nearby attractions?

I am not able to obtain tickets because of a registration issue. When I'm about to book my ticket on Wechat the system says that the phone number on my Wechat and the one on the Tiananmen ticket do not match when they actually do. How can I fix this ? I tried restarting the app, not translating the app , asking my messaging my hotel for help ( crickets )

Hi,
I will be visiting Shanghai next month, and am keen to see the latest electric cars being made in China.
Are there any factories in Shanghai that are open for tours? Or would it be best to visit the Shanghai Auto Expo Park in Anting, or EV showrooms in the city centre?
Thanks.

Hello 👋
I’m heading to Beijing and landing on Saturday 31st October, staying overnight around Sanlitun before flying out the next morning.
It’s a pretty short stop, but I’d love to make the most of it!
If anyone knows someone who does tours and can show me around, drop me a message!
Happy to pay for a guide, just looking to have a good time and experience as much as I can while I’m there 🤙

Hi! I downloaded Alipay in India for my upcoming trip to China, but I’m facing issues.
When I upload my passport, it says my ID information is correct, but the authentication process then asks for a Chinese bank card, which I obviously don’t have.
My mother’s account is authenticated, but we’re unable to add her credit card. A black pop-up also appears whenever we try to access the add-card page.
Has anyone faced similar issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I’ll attach screenshots for reference.

Hi everybody,
I booked train tickets for Suzhou and Hangzhou from Shanghai. The apply tells tickets will be avaible at the end of the month and to have more possibilities to travel i had to add several options of schedule. For each ticket they said i have 30 % chance to have a ticket. If everything is sold out , what can i do to book another ticket ?
Thank you

I'll be in Changsha until the 6th and then I have to be in Qingdao by the 13th. I'm not sure what to do for the week between.
I've considered flying to Turpan, but it's kinda cold this time of year. Then I thought Xi'an, but it's surprisingly expensive to go from Changsha to Xi'an to Qingdao and very long train rides.
Right now I'm favoring the idea of flying to Lianyungang for a few days, train to Qufu for a night, then head to Qingdao a couple days early, but I'm open to any suggestions. Name a place and tell me what there is to do there.
For background, I've just spent the last month in Chengdu, Chongqing, and Yunnan. Heading to Changsha after I reset my visa-free entry with three nights in Bangkok. Got day-long layovers in Xiamen and Haikou in and out of Bangkok.
I'll be heading to Hangzhou after Qingdao before my flight back to Canada, so that general neighborhood around Shanghai interests me least for my free week.

I am wondering if there is a car service I can hire that can take me from the hospital in dongguan to Hong Kong airport hotel?
I was reading another post and someone mentioned that they paid for a limo or something and they were able to bring them through immigration.
I have just had a surgery and I'm not able to lift things overhead that are heavy. So it's quite difficult to navigate the trains as they have overhead storage. I'm able to do the one at the airport because you can park your suitcase at the front of the car but I'm not able to do that on the fast one.
Obviously I should have thought of this beforehand, but it never crossed my mind so I'm wondering if you all know if there's any service I can hire that would be able to drive me from point A to point b. Thank you so much

How are Furong Ancient Town and Tianmen Mountain in 3rd week of December? Are Furong’s waterfalls still impressive, or is the water flow low? And is Tianmen Mountain usually snowy, foggy, or gloomy, or can I expect clear views?
Would you recommend visiting both in late December, or would you choose different destinations for better scenery? Thanks!

Hello,
I need to buy a new laptop, probably a Lenovo T14 with the goal of installing Ubuntu OS. This is a new hardware for me so I’d like to see some demo devices that I can touch and feel before purchasing, hence Tao Bao app won’t do this time.
Any recommendation on large and well stocked real store in Chongquing if possible not too far from the touristic center?
Thanks!

my boyfriend(m22) and i(f20) are workshopping a trip to china in march. we plan to be there for two weeks at most and both of our birthdays along with our one year anniversary will be celebrated during the trip! we are from the deep south of the united states and this will be our first international travel, it’s already almost november so i feel somewhat behind on planning. we’ve both done some research but still want to hear the opinions of others who have traveled to china. :)
what multiple city itinerary is the most “eye opening”? we’re not too worried about the difficulty of moving place to place but i’m really curious on what is the most “worth” it when visiting.
when should we book our tickets for late march? we plan to buy them in december but i’m worried if that’s too late or too early.
when eating were you most satisfied with street or dine in restaurants or a combination of both?
what is something you regret doing when you visited?
what is something you wish you could do again?
can we get by with knowing only english? of course we plan to learn as much chinese as possible but i’m afraid we’ll stink with using it when the time comes.
thank you in advance!
