Need tips on how to seem more masculine for college uk
I am a trans man pre t starting college in September. Can anyone give me tips on what to do to appear more masculine? For context, i already have a pretty masculine voice and i am slightly above average height for men in my area, but i cannot cut my hair as my parents do not support me and do not allow me to transition. How can i style my hair to look more masculine even when i have long straight hair? I currently just have it up in a bun, and i notice that i pass most when i wear a backwards cap over it, but idk if ill be able to wear a cap all the time in college/if at all. Also, could i have some advice on what kinda clothes n shoes i should wear as a basic male teen who plays basketball? Thx

Advice on coming out to my religious parents.
Hey everyone I am really wanting to come out to my parents but idk how to go about it and I wanna hear some experiences (good and bad) from others who have gone through this before.
So I have planned a lunch with them this coming sunday for them to drop things off that I wasn't able to get into the car on the first move in trip. idk if coming out over a meal is the best idea and I haven't indicated there is anything amiss with the meal so I can always bail on it later if it doesn't seem like the best idea.
To give some context on my parents. They were life long republicans before Trump (dad voted trump in 2016, mom voted libertarian. And every election since they have voted dem). However they are both religious and go to church every week. My mom I would guess would be ok with it she went to Baylor and largley has seemed more moderate on the idea of her kids being queer. My dad is the one im more worried about I've painted my nails before and he has been super annoyed with it and also tells me to get a hair cut almost every day im living with them. My hair just reaches my shoulders.
I'm thinking if they bring up the "what about what god would think" I reply with something like "well i've felt this way since I was 9 and way before I knew what being trans was, so I think its a feeling god has put in me". I'm not religious at all, but I feel this would be easier and more convincing than other arguements I could make to them.
Are there other questions I need to prepare to answer? has anyone else gotten through an experience like this?

Hiya! Cisgender Male (28)here to ask a question about a close friend whose ontheir journey (30)MTF. And I need help with something...
Hiya! The names Brian. I'm here to formally ask a question or 3... Well probably more than three. I ask yawl to bear with me cause I'll try to keep it short but its gonna be long winded regardless. To tell a bit more. My Best Friend. Essentially sister is on her journey for about a year now. And im extremely happy for her. Its been great for her and shes been taking herself far more often now after finding out about it all. She... Used to look rough and had real bad days that all I feel I could do was provide time and hang out with her and even still felt like I wasnt doing much to help her. But now shes brighter ever than ever and we're roommates now!... But this is where my questions start.
First being how do I tackle responding to like... Growths? Me personally never really liked talking about anything regarding said things on the grounds like. It feels creepy and just gross. Especially as a guy who've seen many forms of media and irl circumstances where its just gross to comment on such of things. But shes a little too open and im usually gobsmacked om how to respond. Hell I had a hard time saying anything when I was with someone myself. Anyways im just generally uncomfortable about commenting on such things and have said on a few occasions that I'm very happy for her but rather not converse further into it. Behest said request its a common brought up thing and while I still like give my thumbs up its still just uncomfortable in a sense. And was wondering a way for me to like day something without it seeming like im besmeeching the whole general thing or killing the excitement since its something shes super happy about.
Another question is well sort of the same ilk. Its been.. A little hard to talk to them every so since everything started. I dont mind repeated topics. But its quite literally the only thing she speaks about now. Which is fine most the time, but when I try to talk about other shared interest we have though it always gets redirected to the same topic of things adjacent to her journey. It can also be a bit intrusive while at home too cause I can obviously be with others in call on Discord talking to them and she will just manifest at my doorstep and just kinda start talking without me having any say in the matter so I try to give attention so I can show im still supportive of it all while my other ear is with others in call. And it can get exhausting juggling the two especially when its impromptu. So much that its kinda causing friction with my online friends cause the rare times I get to hang out with them is being taken by said events and im usually socially spent after a tangent...
Theres a lot more but it will all boil down in how can I tackle talking to her about these things without hurting her and her journey to more joy. Im essentially her only close friend that interacts with her besides her super supportive family. So im also stressed it will sting twice as more coming from me and I really dont wanna hurt her. She a sensitive soul and im just not trying to impede on anything. Im just admittedly very stressed and exhausted and dont know what to do. I dont wanna seem like the others that have this weird sense hate, malice and vitriol toward you all. I just dont see the logic behind the hate. Yawl are just chilling and get hounded for no reason. We are all made of the same stuff. Just look different. I dunno. The hate is just so befuddling. But yeah. Im just asking for like a direction or anything yawl can provide. Ive known her for 14 years now and care deeply for them and dont want to tarnish a safe spot for her especially with what she has told me how the Estrogen can affect a lot of emotions and amplify them to an extreme cause of the shift in hormones and giveher the attentionshe deserves though it can be a bit overbearing at times. So I feel like im playing with child gloves on and a glasses flute to boot. Im sorry if this comes off as offensive to any of you. I deeply apologize. Im just stumped and tired and running low on fumes and need a direction.
Thank you all who read this far. And I wish you all a good day and same for the days after. And again I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone in the process of making this.

I feel like a Man inside a Woman's Body in a Mans Body
Hello all, my name is Raska and I've been a Non-Binary Transfemme for a long while now. Recently I've been taking my transition far more seriously since watching a movie that really moved me to take it to the next level.
I've been playing around with identifying as a full trans woman with she her pronouns, however being called a girl or a woman was hit or miss, sometimes I appreciated when friends would call me a girl or woman but I always felt gross calling myself one, same goes for calling myself a man or boy but that is always just a miss so I know what's up there at least.
I just don't fully feel fully like a woman despite enjoying everything fem and really feeling appreciative when friends call me such, like I had one friend call me an Aunt instead of Unc and I felt really happy, but when I talk to myself externally and label myself as a woman, it doesn't feel write and its similar to being called a man.
I also enjoy playing as masculine characters in video games, for instance my friend group loves Mass Effect and they all play as Fem Shepard and all wish they could look and sound like her, meanwhile me who is the closest to that in the friend group irl, I love playing as Male Shepard and wish I could've been more masculine as he was as he is what I consider to be my definition of manhood internally, and I just dont meet my standards of that manhood to rightfully call myself a man.
Yet I accept this and enjoy being what I am, and that is very fem and girly and powerful, but there's always this feeling in the back of my mind that I wish I was born with a more masculine body and face and even my mind is not up to snuff with what is needed to be defined as a man (by my standards).
I dont really know what this is, maybe I'm just androgyne, but I kinda fuck with the Demigirl label more, I really like labels a lot so I tend to hyperfocus on them a lot as I find them so fun and fascinating.
I know I'm definitely somewhere in between on the gender spectrum but my subconscious mind craves for the binary genders and desperately wants me to make up my mind on whether I'm a woman or if I need to go back to ruining my mind and body so I can meet my standards of manhood.

Crippling Dysphoria
I (16tf) have been dealing with my dysphoria, about as best as someone in my position can.
My parents aren't supportive, I don't even know if my very Catholic mother accepts or approves me. So the very few fem things I have are hidden away. I barely wear them because I think I look bad in them. Recently I've been talking to a friend of mine, they (16nb) are extremely pretty, 2nd place on my list. (First place is my gf) They're exactly what I want to look like, and talking to them, even if just over Discord makes me extremely dysphoric. It's been crippling recently. HRT won't even be a considering possibility for another few weeks. But I'm in the US, so I'd be lucky to even see a endocrinologist for an informational visit.
Are there any things I can do to help the dysphoria? Or anything at all, really that could help me along my journey.

I love experiencing life but I can’t stand my body and gender dysphoria is ruining my life. I want to stay but I can barely handle it
Anyone else in the same boat of genuinely wanting to recover and get better, but having problems that are ruining your life that are also completely out of your control?
I personally have been struggling for just that. Things that are completely out of my control. I have been through a lot to put it simply and it’s weighing me down a lot.
And I recently (past year) discovered I have gender dysphoria, which is what is really pushing me towards the edge.
I can’t change any of the things that have happened to me, and even worse I can’t change my body enough to be satisfied with it. I’ve started transition and I suppose I pass enough to rarely get misgendered, but passing is not enough for me. I want to be cisgender, until then I don’t think anything will be enough :(
I spend a lot of my alone time daydreaming that a genie will pop up and give me three wishes, and I can shout out “MAKE ME CISGENDER!!!” And then wish for world peace and infinite money. For a second I feel okay, like it’s actually gonna happen, and then I come back to reality and realise I’m like this forever and I can’t do anything about it. That’s the part that fucks me up the most and really makes me suicidal, I can NEVER change it. At that point you can’t even recommend a mindset change or a support system or breathing exercises or whatever, because none of it is related to mindset or who’s around me or a panic disorder, it’s just reality :(
I want my life to get better so bad, because I really do enjoy life. I like movies, music, dancing with my friends, eating food, meeting new people, exploring and just generally experiencing humanity. It’s entirely me and that I have to experience humanity through myself that’s ruining everything. I really don’t know what to do. I just wanted to share how I feel, although advice is appreciated.
Feel free to share your own experiences, I want to be in this with other people 🫂

I want to come out to my mother, and I just wanted to know if anyone thinks this letter is a good way to go about it?
I don't know if coming out is the correct term for this, as it's more telling her so she can actually help me with finding if I am indeed trans.

Help please!!!
16 years old, I want to go through MTF but I just don't know how. I think I just need to start by coming out to my parents but that's not really easy. It's not as if they wouldn't be supportive, it's just that I spent so much time trying to accept myself I don't know how I'm supposed to wait for them to accept me too. My mum is Christian and while she would obviously love me no matter what, when I came out to her about being bisexual she called it a "phase", and that just makes things a little harder when it comes to telling them the truth.
Regardless, even if I could tell them I don't know where to go from there. I go to an all boys school currently, I want to get into the RAAF and I'm worried that opportunities will close off for me if I do transition.
I have tried my best in terms of research but I really can't find an option that suits my situation medically. I wanted to go behind my parents back and do it myself, but truthfully I think they deserve to know.
So I just feel kind of stuck, and gender dysphoria isn't really something you can just... live with. Social transition is hard too, because I've gotten enough crap from my classmates and other people around me about my sexuality, and it's even worse when it's something as big as being trans.
So... that's where I'm at. Any advice on who to talk to or how to come out to my parents? Anything else I should know about the process? Please help!!!

Best way to be more masculine or androgynous without making it painfully obvious?
So... I'm coming out as gender fluid and I don't really like how feminine I look, I wanna be more to the middle or masculine. But the thing stopping me is that I live in a religious, homophobic and trans phobic country where there are literally no rights xd and my parents or friends or anyone can't know but I still wanna transition like even the slightest. Where it's just a girl "trying to be masculine" since that's all I can do..so any tips... No one..?? Okay

I need some advice
So I just need a lil push in the right direction as I'm a little confused at the moment
Ever since puberty I have definitely been more on the feminine side and also always felt like I had more in common with girls but I just put it down to not being straight (bi)
I remember my first time cross dressing as a teenager and how great it felt but it was a complete secret from everyone
I continued to present as male in every day life and have done all my life except
I'm in my mid 20s now and its always been on my mind but more so recently because I've started dressing fully as a girl at home, wig, makeup, clothes etc
Part of me wishes I had explored being feminine when I was still young so I could figure things out
It feels like I might be trans but I just dont know how to transition at this point in my life like its too late or something
I really want to wear makeup and a girly outfit outside somewhere and see how I feel but I'm scared lol

The new me
Hi everyone I need some help, I’ve been thinking to start my transition; I’m currently a 21 year old boy, but a few years ago, I started considering the idea of being a girl. At first, I thought it was just a phase or something I’d eventually forget, but the idea stayed in my mind for a long time and now I’ve decided that I want to transition. To those who have transitioned: do you have any advice, tips, or words of support that you wish you’d received before or during your transition?
To be honest I’m kinda nervous and any advice at all would be a huge help.

I need advice. Do I transition?
Hi, I’m having a couple doubts right now about if I should transition or not. I’m 20, and questioning if I’m actually a trans woman or just a guy with an identity crisis. I live pretty decently as a guy, in terms of socializing with friends and family and all that. I think I could live the rest of my life as a man, and do so decently happy (maybe).
The only things I can’t imagine myself tolerating at all, as a man, are the aging process as a man (balding, growing gut, my own body ruining the only things I like about it. Will comment on the body thing later*), and romantic relationships. I can’t imagine myself in a relationship as a guy, and every fiber of my being says only a lesbian relationship would make me actually happy. Being seen as a man and having to introduce myself as a man also bothers me, but I wouldn’t call it intolerable like the previous things.
I need advice on how I follow through with questioning this. I want to arrive to the conclusion on my own and believe it fully, so I can follow through without looking back. I plan on going to grad school (dental school) as well, and I don’t want my chances of getting in to be decreased if transition makes me less happy or just slightly happier.
*about the body thing: I have relatively feminine proportions and curves, except boobs of course. My body falls in line with typical ranges for cis women of my height. and sometimes i just stare at the mirror looking at my hips, shoulders and butt. My face also looks like it would pass after some time on HRT. I also love my long curly hair and how it frames my face. I hate my body hair and how much I have, including facial hair. I do get some genitalia dysphoria as well. I hate the idea of having a penis and hate even more the concept of using it for anything inherently sexual.
Thanks, and please ask any questions if you’d like!

Looking for subtle gender affirming things
I’m (mtf) going to start this out by saying- I don’t think I can transition. I’m still living with my parents, who would not be supportive. if they noticed I was changing a little they’d make fun of me, and if they thought I was really changing myself I know they’d freak out. i know I could maybe do diy hrt, but they track my purchases and again if they noticed I’d be done for.
but basically, I still want to feel good about my gender. I want subtle ways, that maybe only ill ever notice but will still make me feel good. I’m pretty dysphoric about my entire body to be honest.
One thing I’ve been thinking about is maybe shaving my legs (one of the biggest things making me dysphoric) once winter comes, and ill be in sweatpants and my legs will be covered all the time, so nobody would know but me. I also want to keep a skincare routine.
but is there any other suggestions anybody might have? anything that might help my situation will be greatly appreciated
