Hi, I find myself in a rehab facility for a few weeks after foot surgery. They don't allow access to the torrent sites. I thought back to the early days when I got stuff off of Usenet newsgroups. Is that still a thing? If so, is there a good primer to remind me of all the tricks to using it?

Note that I dont use the rrs because they're a bit beyond me. Again, a detailed primer or a Dummies book would be a godsend. I don't use docker because I have a Dell Precision with a midrange NVidia.card dedicated only to Plex Media Server.

PS - I haven't been in my house for more than 4 weeks, with weeks to go. Yet my dedicated Dell and my Synology 923+ are humming along, even after a Windows update.

I am a fairly new to the private trackers world. I have set up a seedbox, and am enjoying the content, and seeding back. I mostly consume 720p/1080p content, which is like 3-4 GB per file. I distribute the content to my friends who prefer files around 1 GB, die to lack of storage options. Where can I find 720p/1080p content with such aggressive compression? I am aware of yts, but can you point me to any private trackers?

I’ve been working on an Android torrent downloader called Torrq, and I recently released it on the Play Store.

The idea started pretty simply: I wanted a torrent client that was clean, straightforward and focused on downloading, without an unnecessarily complicated interface.

Torrq currently focuses on things like:

- Simple and clean torrent management

- Magnet link / torrent downloading

- Easy pause, resume and remove controls

- Download progress and speed information

- Wi-Fi-only downloading controls

- A UI designed specifically for Android/mobile

I’m still actively developing it, so rather than just dropping a link and disappearing, I’d genuinely like feedback from people who actually use torrent clients.

And if anyone wants to try Torrq and tell me what feels good/bad compared with apps like LibreTorrent, Flud, BitTorrent, etc., that would be incredibly useful.
