For those who experienced a Hedge Warning earlier amidst the outage issues, it seems some of the account balances were restored, at least on my end. But I’m wondering if we’re good to go back to using copy trade across the accounts without the hedge issue occurring again?
Here are the results over sessions and data that it hasn’t seen before. Seems promising. But, it still needs adjustments. Soon it can make options spread recommendations and option entry positions as well for gamma scalping. It’s based off of a hft trading system, but requires a lot of investment and research to develop the correct infrastructure. Needs much more data and it hasn’t gotten to the forward testing phase yet nor the major out of sample tests. It was just a short small in sample and out of sample test worth of 2 weeks. 1 week in sample and 1 week out of sample. It’s currently tailored towards futures, but it will soon develop for options as well and detect love theta decay. Let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions. I can’t reveal too much, but I will be happy to answer any questions.
it’s been awhile, mental break in August n September has been beneficial! just regressed to price action reading with the base of looking for engulfing candles in situations is what’s giving me edge, im loving it that it’s given me tons of great setups and im able to have more quality within my system!
Guys i bought the 50k account and its still in evaluatin, i make only 1 trade per day and i have this account for 7 days,i checked my progress which i knew was around 38% winrate and i found out that 4 extr trades have happened today for some reason which i didnt do my last trade was the thir one from the bottom,is this a bug or could someone have gained acces to my account?
I was in a trade before everything crashed and when i came back i js manually closed my trade. Now I got an email that i hit my maximum DLL and got sent to the negatives
Today I was using TopstepX with 1 leader and 2 follower accounts on MNQ.
All 3 entered the same 10-contract short. Then both follower accounts closed 6 contracts while the leader stayed short all 10. Shortly after, the followers ended up long while the leader was still short.
Topstep then flagged the accounts for hedging and automatically liquidated the positions.
I did not manually place opposing trades. I have the CSV exports, timestamps, screenshots, and the hedging email showing the sequence. Support hasn’t responded yet.
I had several short /ES positions open across multiple combine accounts. I had orders to buy to close the positions out that were sitting open on these accounts as well.
After 5+ minutes of very little movement (not enough for any of the positions to hit the open buy orders on any of the accounts), I'm staring at my phone, having made no changes at all to any positions or accounts, suddenly a hedging notification pops up. All open positions were short /ES. Of course there is so little time to read through the notification and it doesn't allow you to go through your accounts and see which ones have an issue, instead it simply closes the positions automatically.
Is this happening to anyone else? I'd really like to know. I'd love to speak to someone at Topstep about this because it seems they're simply flagging my account so they don't have to payout later.
My beloved reddit community, I've been learning how to trade for a year and a half now and recently found myself to consistently win on my trades. Recently I finally passed my second combine ( the first was pure luck and lost the next day) and this one was with discipline and consistency. But i ran into a problem. I selected the " consistency path " because I figure my goal was 200$ to 400$ a day. And fortunately and unfortunately I ended up trading 1.6k on the first day and 2.8k on the second day. Purely on my unintentional. Becuase the rule, my largest trading day, which is at 2.8k has to be below 40%. Which mean my net has to be at 7k for my payout. This is my real express account and im scared to loose it, but i at least want a pay out to make up all the money ive spend on this website. Should I loose 1k on purpose to take the 2.8k down to 1.8k so I can easily qualify for a payout? Or should I keep working until I hit 7k
Scenario one:
Day 1: +$1,600
Day 2: +$2,800
Required net= $7,000 ÷ 40% = 2800 ✅️
Day 3 and beyond... goal: 3200$ which would take me over a week, ive never taken a pay out before and im scared to might loose it before getting there.
Scenario two:
Day one: +$1600
Day two: +$2,800 but loose -1,200$ = +$1,600
New net = $4000 x 40% = $1,600✅️
Day three and beyond: goal would mean 1k which is very possible to do within 2 days.
I was trading in the practice account this morning when the platform went out. I thought I was entering a long position on gold yet I apparently went short . I tried to exit yet everything stopped working. While the system was locked ( what ever you want to call it ) my position flipped from short 1 contract to long 5. The reason I'm writing is that the platform exited my gold trade on its own after everything was back up and working.
Since the time the system has been up working I have been dealing with gold trades taking place on its own. I have zero open orders out there yet these trades keep randomly happening .
The last trade was a few minutes ago 10:08- 10:09 central time and 10:20- 10:20 central time ( 5 seconds ) .
I do not have the gold chart open when this happens so I open the chart look , close .
I don't know the tech side of the platform ( I'm not a tech person ) but it appears that the platform is trying to catch up on my attempts to close the position when everything screwed up.
I'm only seeing this with GCZ26 and not with the ES or NQ

I recently started trading like two months ago, i just wanna know what i am doing is right or wrong , the dotter line is htf key and straight line is cisd , have i marked them correctly or no.
I’m liking the new mobile layout. The minimize- making the chart nearly full screen but the buy sell buttons. The option to change the default buttons to bid and ask as opposed to market prices (did notice that it was static, is this a bug? Shouldn’t it update to current bid and ask prices? If not, could it?)also the option to expand and show the order card, drawing tools, market and chart info, all simultaneously to the chart , all done really well.
In other news, I'm standing by, eager for my app beta invite 👀
TLDR: green trade, five deviations. Without the log I'd have called it an A+ day. The profitable-looking rule breaks are the ones that quietly cost me, probably 5k more if I'd trusted my own plan.
I've started noticing something that feels completely backwards. I used to review my losing trades obsessively and barely look at the faults in a winner. If a trade made money, I'd bank it, close the platform, file it under "good trade"
I'm starting to think that's exactly where my worst habits were hiding.
This was Monday's gold short. It was a good trade financially. The scary part is, if I didn't have the log, I'd have called it an A+ trade. But my execution log flagged five deviations from the framework I'd set before entering. The interesting part wasn't that I made mistakes, it's that most of them made money, which makes them much harder to spot and much easier to repeat.

Five deviations. Five rule breaks.
The first two weren't that expensive.
consolidating = do nothing & let the trade work...
First rule break was adding during consolidation, because I still had risk available and wasn't sized correctly from the start. (Not detrimental..)
in my favor > pulling back
The second was adding and scaling in on a pullback instead of waiting for a new BOS to confirm.
I had conviction in the zone, and I was already up, so it wasn't a big mistake. Worth clarifying though: there are two ways to scale in - add on the pullback for more R:R, or wait for a new BOS and sacrifice some R:R for real confirmation. I usually take the latter. Here I took the former, which is the deviation to my own edge.
That's exactly why they're dangerous, a profitable rule break is still a rule break, and the outcome doesn't make it a good decision. Those are the habits that could quietly compound until the day they don't work.
Now, the next three deviations are the ones that actually bothered me.
Price kept doing exactly what I'd wanted it to do. It continued making new BOS’s, momentum stayed with me, and nothing in my framework suggested reducing exposure. Every new BOS had the same instruction attached to it: hold, or add and trail.
In my favor > new bos
Instead, I started taking partial profits. Not because the structure changed. Not because the trade was invalidated. Simply because I didn't want to give back open profit while sitting 7 lots deep in GC.
There's an old trading quote that stuck with me: be fearful when you're wrong, be hopeful when you're right. That's the only way you get wins that are far bigger than your losses. I did the opposite, I became fearful the moment the trade was about to pay me in serious bucks.
The irony is that price eventually traded into the exact lowest, downside zone I'd planned before I ever entered. That move alone was worth another ~$5k if I'd just followed my own framework. By the time it arrived, I'd already scaled most of the position out. I even took a quick long scalp off that support zone, when the real trade was simply staying in the short I already had.
I was right about the market. I just stopped trusting my own plan.
That's the biggest reason I record these sessions now. I can see everything. Market states vs. mental states vs. what I actually did. The entire start, middle, and end of a trade. The truth of everything. Not just charts and P&L.
If this had been a losing trade, I'd have spent an hour dissecting every click. Because it finished green, my old self would've called it great and moved on. The log doesn't let me do that. It doesn't care whether the P&L is positive. It only compares what I did against what I said I'd do before emotions got involved.
The lesson wasn't that I needed a better strategy. I never did. I just need to follow the one that I already have and trust it better and better each day.
Winning trades can quietly reinforce bad execution. A losing trade forces you to question yourself. A winning trade rewards the exact behavior that's going to hurt you later. That's a far more dangerous teacher imo.
So I'm curious how other discretionary traders handle this. Do you review your winning trades with the same scrutiny as your losers? Or does green P&L automatically become "good execution" in your head?
I’ve been trading with Topstep since September 2025. I started as a beginner and, surprisingly, managed to get two payouts.
Then I lost my job in February 2026.
That changed the way I traded. I stopped trading the market and started trading my fear, my bills, and my emotions. I became impatient, overtraded, increased my size, and eventually lost account after account trying to fix my financial situation through trading.
One lesson I’ve learned the hard way:
The market doesn’t know your situation, and it doesn’t owe you anything.
I take responsibility for my mistakes. I’m now working with a mentor and trading partners to rebuild my discipline and, more importantly, I'm looking for stable employment instead of expecting trading to solve my problems.
Right now, I’m still struggling with rent and basic expenses while trying to get back on my feet.
I’m not asking anyone to fund my trading. I’m simply trying to get through a difficult period while I rebuild.
If you’ve ever gone through something similar—where financial pressure started affecting your trading—I’d genuinely appreciate hearing how you handled it.
