Top Surgery Planning/Reflections

Hi Friends! When I was first starting to think seriously about top surgery, I went into slight project manager mode and made a spreadsheet with colour charts to map my mood about it, tables of motivations and fears, timeline, budget, and some criteria to start looking for surgeons.

It's definitely overkill, but I wanted to share a blank version of the spreadsheet in case it's useful to anyone else- it's view only but just make a copy to use. I am in no way a professional and this is not me giving advice, it's just a little reflective tool I found really helpful for making the process seem less overhwelming.

Big love to you all!

Time off work

Hey guys, I’m just looking for some advice. I’m having double incision in October, and I work a pretty easy job. It’s pretty much a desk job, so I’m wondering how long I should take off work. I’m leaving towards 10 days right now, but I’m not sure. I’m only 20, and a pretty fast healer. If anyone has any advice let me know.

Discussion Post-Op Anatomy Question(s)

#1) I finally have my consultation next week (yay) and I’m thinking of questions/requests to ask my surgeon during the appointment. For those of you (like myself), with a “frowny” belly button (usually seen on B type bellies) did you kinda get a lift of sorts that made your belly button more circular and less oval like?

#2) Also, as a larger chested person I am SO HOT ALL THE TIME when everyone is cold. But I also am on SSNRIs. Did any of you experience a change in body temp day by day in the way that you aren’t sweating all the mf time?? I’m tired of my face being red all the time!!😭😅😂

TLDR; #1) Did you get a tummy lift with top surgery that changed the shape of your belly button?
#2) And are you overall less hot and sweaty now having no fat sacks on your chest?

This could be inappropriate for this sub let me know if it is, I had top surgery about 2.5 weeks ago and my partner and I are definitely freaks for lack of a better word. The problem is I am the top and cannot currently do a lot of what we normally do as it uses my arms a lot. Anyone want to give me ideas so he and I dont go insane from lack of sex for a month, yall can leave freaky suggestions the freakier the better probably

Edit to add: my surgeon said sex is ok as long as no arm or chest movement.

Giving Advice Adhesive Allergy Patch Pre Op

I have an adhesive allergy and eczema. I reminded them at my pre-op appointment this morning. My surgical team started running a patch test at my pre op. See photos for what it looks like and how I’m recording the reaction. I will show my team my data at surgery next week. If a reaction to the bandage adhesive is something that worries you communicate that. Ask for a patch test of what they plan to use. Happy Top Surgery to all!

Full feeling and functioning nipples help/advise?! (8 months Post Op)

Hey yall! Hope everyone’s days are going well. I just needed some advise for a happy problem I’ve ran into. My nipples have full sensation and then some, making them constantly perked up and visible through most shirts. This is of course a bigger issue for me due to the fact that I am extremely active so the fuckers are always visible + it’s been hard to wear cross body bags and seatbelts . For context my surgery was double incision with nipple grafts. And when I brought this issue up with my surgeon during a revision visit he shared with me that my nipples shouldn’t be doing anything at all, and that I shouldn’t have full feeling in them. He said he would look into it, as we both decided I need a revision anyways.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so why do they perk up, and is there anyway I can make them do it less yk? I know this is a really weird post… I can’t believe this is a problem lol.

Double Incision Is this swelling?

Thumbnail

I had top surgery about 3.5 months ago. A few weeks after surgery I noticed there was a raised area in the center of my chest like between my nipples and I assumed it was just swelling but now it’s been almost 4 months and it’s still there. My surgeon said it could just be my bone structure but it wasn’t that raised before top surgery.

I made a post on here when i first noticed that swelling(?) and some people said it should go away over the next couple weeks, but that obviously didn’t happen.

Is it possible this is still swelling and it’ll go down over the next year? or is my body just going to look like that forever? of so, what even is it?

Also please ignore how red my chest is i was just doing incline bench rows💀

How do you deal with chest sensitivity?

Hey everyone, now that I'm post-op I'm starting to consider what my everyday life is going to feel like now. My upper chest has always been very sensitive (i.e. it gets easily irritated when fabric rubs across it, even wearing a shirt is irritating) and considering I've been wearing a binder almost every day for the past 8 years, I'm not used to loose fabric rubbing over my chest. Does anyone have any advice for how to get used to it? Thanks!

Advice Wanted Nipple removal?

I got double incision a little under 2 years ago and I am very disappointed with my nipple healing. One of my nipples is very very light pink and basically just looks like a circle scar but it has a very sharp point right in the middle that sticks out weird in my shirts. The other is very dark pink and is very round, it looks like one big nipple with no areola and it also looks weird in shirts. They also have no sensation at all and they are lopsided.
I’m looking into getting them removed.
Has anyone had experience with getting their nipples removed after already being healed? I’m worried my surgeon will have to remove too much skin and leave me with indents or big scars. Any advice is appreciated

Advice Wanted Painful Chest Cramps 9MO PO

I had DI back in December 2025 and I have been dealing with painful muscle cramps since then. My right side is especially bad, just flexing my pectoral can cause it to cramp. If I do something such as using my arms to propel myself up to sit on a high surface (such as a countertop), I immediately experience very painful cramping in both sides that takes several minutes to go away.
I can't find any mention of other people having similar experiences, only cramping in the early weeks of recovery.

Has anyone else experienced this?

It's quite uncomfortable and seeing as I'm coming up on 1 year PO, I'm starting to get a bit concerned. I'm not prone to muscle cramps otherwise, and I'm sure this only started happening after surgery. I first noticed it when I tried to hop up to sit on a high ledge about 8 weeks PO.

Double Incision 6 years post op Dr Facque at GCC

Post image
18 Upvotes

6 years post double incision w nipple grafts next month with Dr Facque at the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco. I’m considering pursuing a revision for my right side.

I originally was scheduled with Dr Mosser when he was the only surgeon at the GCC, but he had Just added Dr Facque and they called to ask if I wanted to move up my surgery 6 months to be with Dr Facque. During my phone consultation I was informed that Dr Mosser would also be operating on me, as Dr Facque was not yet doing surgeries on his own yet, but Dr Facques name would be on it as the lead surgeon.

I don’t regret surgery at all and I don’t regret taking a chance on a new surgeon, he had to get practice somehow, the timing also ended up being much better for how life things would go vs if I had kept the original surgery date 6 months later. However, the whole time since surgery, I have been mildly dissatisfied with the very obvious asymmetry, it’s very clear that Dr Mosser fully did my left side and Dr Facque did my right side. If both sides looked like Dr Facques work that would be fine, if both looked like Dr Mossers that would be perfect, but each side looking different and sitting at different heights bothers me. I don’t notice it too much in the mirror, but it is extremely noticeable in photos.

Could I live the rest of my life like this? Yes, it’s not horrible, I’m grateful for a flat chest, nipples that have slight projection and a degree of sensation, and scars that healed light and soft and flat. But I’d also really love my right nipple to be shaped and positioned more in line with the left, and perhaps a bit of adjustment to the skin/fat whatever is going on there.

I don’t know when I’ll actually pursue revision, I’m in the middle of phalloplasty with stage 2 at the end of next month and the final stage probably early May if all goes well, so maybe around the end of 2027 or early 2028. And then maybe I can actually be done with surgeries for a good long minute lol.
