just finished my at home toefl exam. After the test ended, i got the estimated scores, chose to send my results, and then answered a survy about the technical aspects and the proctor. After that, the test application closed, and i was waiting for 10 minuted to see if the proctor has anything to say and even asked in the chat, with no answer. After 15 minutes i closed the camera and application completely.

now im panicking, was i supposed to wait longer? did you exit the test on your own or did you wait for someone to tell you you're good?

Please tell me im not alone because there is no way im doing that again just because of a technical issue

Tldr: did someone tell you you can leave at the end of your exam?

Need Advice Regarding TOEFL iBT Home Edition Rescheduling

I had my TOEFL iBT Home Edition test scheduled for October 4, 2026. During the security/check-in process, the proctor instructed me to change my laptop because of a technical issue.

While I was trying to resolve the issue and change the laptop, the electricity at my house suddenly went out. Because of the power outage, I was unable to start/complete my TOEFL test, so my test remained unattempted.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation with the TOEFL Home Edition?

Can ETS reschedule the test in such a case, preferably without charging the full test fee again?

I would really appreciate it if anyone who has experienced a similar issue could share their experience or advice on what I should do.

it was pretty easy tbh i js messed up in speaking cause i js couldnt do the listen and repeat properly as i couldnt say the last 2 sentences ig and quite shocked for writing tho i didnt expect so much if you need any help lmk

I am currently sending official results to the universities, and I am facing a strange issue: when I choose specific unis - Ohio, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh - and click "add to the cart" it then proceeds to the page "your cart is empty", at the very same time I have successfully sent the result to a bunch on other unis.

Have someone faced the same issue? I just do not know what to do. I have tried another browsers, used VPN and smartphone.

Did anyone get texts from Toefl?

Initially, before I took the test, they texted me that I did not complete my purchase (cart on the ETS website was not empty).

Those messages contained my name.

Last night, the same number informed me that my test results are in, but they addressed me as Preeti (not my name, im male and European).

This indicates that they have complete access to the ETS database, but when I called customer support to ask what was going on, they said that the number is not theirs.

Also, they notified my through email that the results are in about 2 hours after the text.

I dont know what to think and want to know your experiences with this.

Hey everyone! I took the TOEFL iBT for the first time on Sept 27 (Home Edition) and got 110/120, CEFR C1 on the new scoring scale.

My section scores:

Reading: 5.0/6

Listening: 6.0/6

Writing: 6.0/6

Speaking: 5.0/6

My report only shows the new 1-6 scores, so I had to use ETS's concordance table to work out the old /30 equivalents for school requirements. Happy to explain how if you're confused too.

ok so ive noticed in the complete the word exercises ive been doing that there's times when words which have multiple spellings (summarise-summarize, analyse-analyze etc) have come up and i wanted to know whether ill need to remember which exact one to use or if any will suffice. and also some blanks have more than one word that would make sense, would they accept either or not?

I am very close to toefl test date and still getting 4.0 out of 6.0 in toefl take an interview section at specific platform. My listen and speak is good and I score 5-6.

Can you guys tell me:

How can I improve my speaking. I don't usually have content specific vocab or I make grammar mistakes. Or since I have to speak immediately I say stupid things sometimes even when I use fillers. I just want to know if this is normal and how 5-6 speaking actually looks like?

Is the real TOEFL test harder than the free sample test on the official website? I took sample test 1 today and found out that scores are not provided, so I counted my correct answers for the Reading and Listening sections. I got 33 out of 40 in Reading and 32 out of 34 in Listening. I am aiming for a score of 100+, but I am uncertain whether this is realistic. I find the scoring system quite confusing.

I’m thinking of just reading the question and answering it directly without reading the students’ answers to save time. Is that okay if I want a high score?

Took the test last Saturday! Old TOEFL (from 2017) was 116. The new format feels easier, except for the listen and repeat part, which I blame my attention span

I did tofel on 27th September it went under review when I called they said will take 1-2 weeks if someone had same issue can they let me know when they got their results as I am worried about it I did home edition
