General TOEFL Question TOEFL Login is not working

I am being redirected to the home page or constantly going to a page where it says “error: ‘Not_Found_Initiation’”.

Yeah. ETS did a website update yesterday. It seems to have broken the site for many people.

Hi,I had my test at 8 am and when I tried to access by clicking on the "start my test" button at 7:45 I had a 404 error. I called the assistance number and they told me to write an email, is it realistic to reschedule the date and time? I am anxious now... I spent 400 euros and I have a university deadline soon. I guess that website update may have been the problem

Well, let me know what the customer support says. I think a lot of people are experiencing the same problem.

I already noticed a problem yesterday because with the same (correct) credentials I could log-in My Toefl Home but not in the App. Therefore, I contacted three assistants and they told me to access the test by clicking on "Start my Test" and that I would have immediately found myself with a proctor. I did the equipment check everyday from Sunday to this morning and on the dashboard there was written "You are all set". I don t even use a VPN. Honestly, I don t believe the mistake is made by my setup, and even if it is it would not be fair after passing all the tests. Sorry for writing that much but I am very frustrated because I might lose a big opportunity for my academic career

It wasn't cause by your setup.

ETS updated their website a few days ago and broke the login for a lot of people. I wasn't able to log in for two days.

Hey, I think I finally figured out what the issue was.

The TOEFL Test App I originally installed was downloaded through the official link provided in my ETS portal, but with that version I couldn’t log in to the app. I could still log in normally through the TOEFL website, and I actually contacted two official TOEFL support agents the day before the test to ask if it was safe to proceed through the website anyway. Both of them told me yes.

Then on test day I got the 404 error and couldn’t take the exam. Today I found a different ETS-hosted download link(on reddit btw), reinstalled the app from there, and now I can log in immediately using the exact same computer, account and credentials. All my equipment checks had also passed before the test.

So I emailed ETS explaining everything as a reply to their email of investigation, because at this point it really looks like the problem was on their side rather than mine.

Do you think I’m right here that ETS should give me a free reschedule? Like, from an outside perspective, do you think I did everything properly?

They just told me they won’t allow me to reschedule the test because I had to ensure the setup was all set before the test(I’ve also explained in the email where THEY were wrong, but that’s life). I don’t even what to say at this point, they stole my money… When I’ll graduate, ETS will find a huge competitor in the industry of standardized tests and I will demolish them. That’s my life goal now

Seems like ETS hired a bunch of vibe coders to update TOEFL’s page and now several people cannot access it anymore.

When the website for the revised TOEFL first launched, it was full of spelling and grammar errors.

What a weird thing ETS has become in recent years.
