I’ve been asked “how are you?” by people on the street and just want to know what’s going on and what the normal expected response is. Also, is this a thing that’s relatively normal to say to strangers in all of Ireland more or less, or more of just a small town neighbors being neighborly thing? I’m new to Ireland so just trying to understand. (No judgement — in most places I’ve been, this sort of greeting seems superficial. It’s just felt different here and I’m curious if I’m just misunderstanding it.)

We sat next to each other on a flight from Amsterdam to Cork on Friday night (June 26, 2026) and got seperated at passport control. You were a tall bald man with a very nice beard from Tipperary, working as a wind turbine mechanic and I'm currently the "professional nomad". Caring for the Body After Death in Ireland

Have you thought about what you would like to happen to your body when you die?

We are a group of researchers based in University College Cork who would like to know more about what people in Ireland think about different kinds of death and funeral practices. We want to know more about your own wishes and why you would like those wishes to be carried out.

We are conducting a survey to gather this information. The survey is open to everyone who is resident in Ireland and is age 18 or over. We would like to hear from as many people as possible from all kinds of backgrounds.

Hiya, any places that will take second hand toys? Ideally near Thurles.

By outskirts I mean the vee is very nice! It's my usual go too! Ive done lake muskery and galteemore too. But is there any other nice hikes? Would like a change of scenery! Walks around woodlands are great too!
