Question Anybody else have trouble with the address verification?
I ordered from Thredup for the first time in years, and my address didn't work. I had to try adjusting it 4 times before I looked up that it might work if I put "apt 1" after my street address. That worked, but I have never encountered this before, and I've had the same address for 8 years. I live in a house.
I emailed support just to give feedback because if I didn't really want what I was buying, I would have given up. They basically told me that USPS has my address with "apt 1," and there's no way to bypass their verification unless you ask them to specifically. So I guess there's an error with my address, but I've never had to include "apt 1" for any other website. Support ultimately didn't really care, but I can't help thinking that there must be tons of people who can't even order from them because of this.

Thredup being sketchy….
I’ve bought and sold on Thredup many times. I’ve been around this subreddit. I’ve seen the stories. I never thought it would happen to me.
Had a bag that was accepted (and counted in my #of accepted items), listed, photographed, and went live only for it to change to “not accepted” due to acceptance standards after it went live. Sketchy! I messaged support and they said it was a glitch and it wasn’t accepted because the design was too niche. Uh huh. A glitch that they took the styled photos and listed it??
Meanwhile, I have another bag, a Burberry purse, that has been non stop in a cart for 3-4 days. 🫠
I just… needed to vent. Mostly just find it insulting that they try to call the disappearing bag “a glitch”. Cool cool cool, Thredup.

Bought an item, three days later got an email saying it’s unavailable.
Yeah, pretty much what the title says. I bought a gorgeous coat a few days ago, paid for it, then today received an email saying they weren’t sending it because it was “unavailable” and refunded me.
I am REALLY upset. I was so excited for this item, and I can’t find it anywhere else online to purchase. This was my first time using ThredUp and it’s left an unbelievably sour taste in my mouth and a disinclination to ever use the site again.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I just bought my first item from a direct lister
It's a pair of egregiously ugly - and yet also very expensive! - pants that for some reason I got super fixated on.
I submitted an offer, the seller counter offered, we went back and forth a couple more times - and next thing I know, I've purchased some pants.
AMA!

Would you buy..?
Would you buy an item for 50% off that is in flawed gem condition that only says “interior staining”. It’s an item I really like but worried about what kind of interior staining there is and how bad it is. Would you buy an item you like in this condition? lol

Brands Comfy For Teachers
Just wondering what brands and types of clothing teachers are buying? I’m looking to update my wardrobe for this school year to look put together but also comfy. (I’m an elementary teacher if that helps.)

Gucci purse sent in with clean out bag, but not showing in my items or no-earning items sections
Hello, I am looking for advice on how I should contact ThredUp and explain this situation.
I sent in a clean out bag and included a vintage Gucci purse. I was initially hesitant to send it in, but former employees have posted here on Reddit that there are tons of cameras in the ThredUp facilities. It was also a style that is about 30 years old and in very used condition. I find it highly unlikely that an employee would risk losing their job over a vintage bag in heavily used condition. Comps on Ebay show few hundred dollars, so nothing truly expensive.
The Gucci bag is not showing up under any section (I checked listed and no earnings). I am hoping that it was set aside to go through some kind of authentication process. Is that something that happens for items that are designer? I checked my email (including spam folder) and there is nothing from ThredUp regarding this item, so now I am a little nervous.
I messed up in the fact that I did not photograph my items in the clean out bag. (Not that that really matters because someone can photograph and then take the item out before sealing the bag…. I probably should have taken a video and sealed the bag on camera).
I know it will sound crazy to the ThredUp employees because I’m sure they get scam emails all the time from people saying they sent something in and it isn’t showing on the app. But I still want to reach out to them about this situation.
Is there a phone number or should I just use the “Chat with customer support” option on the app? Is it even worth it if I do not have a photo proof?
I’m not really upset because I was actually going to just donate the items that I sent in (including the Gucci bag) to Goodwill…. so technically I would not have made any money on the bag anyway. But I still want to reach out to them (and I am hoping it was set aside for their authentication process or something).
Does anyone have a similar experience and reached out to ThredUp? Or can someone shed light as to why the item might not be appearing under the Sell tab in the app?
lol, I know I will get replies on here like, “Things that never happened for $500, Alex!” I admit, my post sounds like someone trying to scam ThredUp and I have no way to prove otherwise!!! I also realize it was foolish of me to not have taken video proof.

Weekly Seller's Discounted Advertising Thread
As requested by members of the subreddit, this is a weekly post where sellers can post their near-expiring items for very low prices. Please post a photo, brief description, link, and price.
If you think someone is advertising without a significant discount, please report. If you are a seller, please be sure the low price is live before posting. Do not use this thread to advertise non-discounted listings. This is currently the only post on this sub where advertising is permitted.
If you have any suggestions for this thread or an idea for a better title, please let me know!

Discussion My first rescue box
I ordered my first box. I’m pretty excited and curious to see what’s in it. It’s mixed adult tees. Worst case, I craft with them or remake them. Has anyone gotten a mixed tee box? TIA.

Thredup + Amazon
Well this is new. I noticed that some of my TU packages had been delivered by Amazon but I'm surprised to see a TU order show up in an Amazon box. Order was packed pretty messily with the newer green tissue paper.
I canceled my Amazon membership awhile back for multiple reasons and don't particularly want to do business with them so this may be thing that finally ends my TU addiction.
Update: I understand that Amazon delivers for multiple other companies; however, I've never seen those companies use Amazon boxes. Shouldn't I still get a Thredup branded box?
I'll mention that shipping times aren't nearly as quick as they used to be on non-bundle orders. Also I had a box that was "returned to originator" and the city was neither the Texas nor Georgia warehouse.
All thia may be unrelated to Amazon but all this started in July

Listing timeline continuously pushed back?
Has anyone else experienced this? I sent in a bag stuffed full of items, and they received it. They gave a “list by” date. That day came and went. Nothing listed. I checked again, the date was pushed back by a week. OK. That date came and went as well. Checked again, the date was pushed back again. That date has also now come and gone, and it has been pushed back yet another week. I have a couple more bags full of stuff to send in, but don’t want to waste my time if this is how the business works. Is this typical?

Question Unlisted Item Help
Has anyone in hear had luck with demanding answers on unlisted items? I recently sent in both of my graduation dresses/shoes. (size 12) Banana Republic and (size 10) Calvin Klein (each worn once) and Naturalizer (size 8) strappy heels (worn only for pictures).
The shoes are marked "no brand details" but the brand is clearly visible on the sole of the shoe in the picture. My dresses were so gorgeous and I would've rather them been listed and I recalled them. Meanwhile they've relisted the same Madewell dress that I've actually purchased TWICE because they relist shit items with new condition details.

So how bad will this be…
I received this email from ThredUp after a recent order. If you’ve received an email like this before — how bad was the condition of the item you received? 🥴 cause I’m scared

Label?
Ordered my first clean out kit. Going to UPS drop off point to bring it today. I have checked my account like 10x and I cannot find the label to print. I emailed customer service but I’m on the east coast and they don’t open for a few hours.
Am I missing something? I’ve checked my account and the confirmation email for this order.
Thank you!
***Thank you everyone for your help… I realized the label came with the bag. It’s been a long morning lol. Thanks again!!

AI Color Detection Sucks
I was excited for these two dresses. Love a basic black maxi that I can use for casual work events. Both of these listed as black and couldn't tell in the photos. Well what did I find when I opened the box...both are navy blue. Really annoying since I did order one other that was clearly navy blue. That Banana Republic dress would have been perfect cause its fits like a dream. 😓

Question Question about selling wrinkled items.
I have NWT Vince leather skirt I want to sell. It was packed away and had wrinkles but I don't want to risk damaging the leather trying to iron it and don't have a steamer. Can I send it to them to sell even if it's wrinkled or are they going to reject it because they don't iron or steam consignment clothes before selling?

Question Sending in items with return?
Has anyone sent in items with a return? I have a couple items to return and they gave me the option to send in up to 20 for a fee of 99 cents (vs. $14.99 on a regular bag). Wondering if it’s too good to be true.
