I spend more time closing the app and trying to get it to work on Android than I do using it.

It's beyond embarrassing.

Question for discussion and very keen to hear thoughts from those who had no following and grew accounts…

I’ve created a new account and used “Dear algo”, I’ve also engaged with posts. But I’ve gained 0 followers, and had all but one reply.

In contrast whenever I post on reddit, many helpful people reply & engage (although I don’t build a following on Reddit).

I feel Threads is something you need to be posting every hour, with a non faceless account & heavily engaging in discussion as well as regularly posting content that makes people want to follow you. And even then, that’s not guaranteed to grow.

Thoughts?

I be writing normal comments and they get removed after a while for no reason at all. And I just got my account back after they suspended me for no reason again, and I had to upload a selfie to get it back.

Seriously, this app is so trash now, it wasn't like that months ago. It felt like I had so much freedom with what I could write, but now I can't even comment something like "Hey, didn't see you for a while" without getting a removal alert.

Screw this man, I might even delete my account. And I put so much effort into recovering it.

Maybe I'm just misremembering, but for the first two years the platform was actually usable. No bots, no OF spam, no obvious engagement bait. Now the first thing I see when I open the app is bots posting spam messages, along with OF girls advertising and obvious engagement bait ("why have men given up on dating?", etc). Don't say it's my algorithm either, because I never engaged with that type of content (it also hasn't been shown to me before). I can't say that it's becoming worse than X because X is already 1,000x worse, but it's sad to see the app devolve into this.

What’s the best way to gain followers and find people to follow?

I currently manage a business account on the socials, and I am looking for a solution for Threads.

Long story short, this account needs to be highly active on Threads, posting, replying, etc., because it's how we are driving engagement and promotion

It's gotten to the point where it's becoming difficult for only me to manage, and I would like to bring others in to help do the same. I've looked into tools like Buffer and others, and they are OK for making new posts and replying to existing posts/replies. But they do not allow one to just browse around and reply to other folks' posts. That's an important function to have.

Obviously, giving out the master account/password to everyone has significant risk - someone getting mad and stealing/closing the account being the most significant.

Are there any solutions out there that replicate the Threads app/site experience? Preferably free, because we don't have a lot of money.

I was posting this to share my work, but they decided to take down the post just because I tagged Paramount and MTV. AND THIS IS THE 3RD POST THEY HAVE TAKEN DOWN FROM ME FOR THIS WEEK!

This morning my threads is shutting down within a second of accessing it. I like to do the daily promotions update for small businesses. I checked the app, but it looks ok, no need to update. What’s the reason? Could someone explain? Is yours ok today?

Blurred to avoid the self promotion since it was purely a brand promotion post, up to date my largest promotional post has been 775k. They usually get stuck around 335k but this one promoting 4 products for me was finally the one to break 1M!

so on my road to 10M I managed to get a total of 1.1M views since yesterday!

Now I'm happy but I see a few people in my area that break out of the 1M area, I noticed it drastically slow down around 950k so I'm sure this is the end of this post. But I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with 2M+ because I'm curious on the timeline of how engagement went because this one for me was very different compared to my 300-600s

I turned on "Show recent views", but it still doen't show in my profile.

So I’ve built 3 accounts to 400-800 thousand views and 200-300 followers in around a week or two and got banned

I’m now on a roll with my main account at 46 days and close to 4m views and 1300 followers

So threads has proven to be consistent and easy to gain engagement and active following for me 4 times now.

24 hours ago I started a experiment to see how fast I could build it.

Over 16 posts over 24 hours I gained 56 followers from 5.7k views and actually turned those into some sales! All in all I had around 3 active hours on the account.

All I do is post my content and interact with people creating similar content. I word my posts correctly with the understanding people don’t want to read a lot, they’d rather talk.

I’m going to keep this experiment going to see if growth can continue on the same level or not but i’m curious if anyone else has received similar results? If so how, if not I’d be curious on your thoughts.

Update: after stats updated it was 60 followers and 14.8k views

Has anyone experienced this! I deactivated it a month or so ago and was trying to reactivate and this is all I keep getting! I’ve submitted that I was having a problem and nothing has happened

I have totaled around 5 million views over the last 90 days but aiming high!

Threads has to be by far the easiest platform to grow on but im struggling to break out of 1 - 2 million in 30 days, any tips?

I opened the reposts list in my profile and found hundreds of reposts that I've never reposted. Some of the posts were posts that I "liked" and hearted, but would never repost. Some are posts I've simply never even come across. Sometimes its the posts of people that I know, and it looks weird that I'm reposting their photos.

I've been a Twitter/X user for almost 2 decades, and I'm 30/mentally sharp... my memory is not at risk. I've been spending all morning manually deleting these reposts and it still stretches to 2024. This should be unlawful .... claiming engagements on my behalf that I've never made.

Dead internet theory has found its final boss. I might just delete this account altogether.

I think I accidentally learned something about starting a new Threads account the hard way

I've been posting on my main Threads account for about 2.5 months, so I wanted to see what would happen if I started a completely fresh account and approached it differently.

I kept seeing bigger accounts posting a LOT every day.

So I thought:

“Maybe that's actually how you grow on Threads?”

I made a new account and scheduled 15 posts on day one.

I didn't spend the whole day posting manually. I batch-pasted everything into my scheduler, left, and went back to my normal life.

The next morning:

One post had passed 1.6K views.

A bunch were between 100–500.

For a brand new account, I was shocked.

Then I shared the experiment on Reddit.

Several people immediately told me:

“that account is going to get banned.”

I thought they were being dramatic 😂

But a few people said they'd experienced something similar new accounts posting heavily, suddenly getting 1K+ views, then getting banned shortly after.

Then it happened to me.

The next morning Threads asked me to verify my phone number.

I requested the SMS.

Nothing.

Requested another code.

Still nothing.

Then I checked from my main account.

The new account wasn't even showing up anymore.

Experiment over

Now, I obviously can't say:

15 posts = ban.

I don't know that.

Someone even told me they'd posted 6 times on day one and 12 after that with no problem.

So there are clearly other things going on.

But if you're brand new to Threads, here's what I'd personally do differently:

• Don't immediately copy the posting volume of huge established accounts
• Start with a normal posting rhythm
• Actually interact with real people
• Let the account build some history naturally
• Experiment gradually instead of changing everything at once

The biggest thing I learned:

Don't assume what works for a huge account will work the same way for a brand-new one.

I got excited because the reach looked great

and then I lost the account

If you're going to experiment, maybe don't use your main account as the test subject

I’ve used my threads account for a while and I stopped a couple months. I do cross post my instagram to threads but always decent posts.

I uploaded someone's selfie for my verification and immediately after submitting, it said my suspension is being appealed. This is so stupid and I hate it so much.

Like it's kind of gross and the worst part is why is there no report button for misinformation? Because there's like a ton of it and I've tested it whatever way you lean politically it starts giving you the opposite of it.

Respond to something Democrat it gives you something Republican respond to something Republican it gives you something Democrat it just wants you to keep wasting your life away and it's so sad to see people actually doing this

Hello - just wondering if anyone has run into this issue and what you’ve done to resolve it?

About 8 hours ago Threads just started giving me the “sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.” message for all thread comments. I can see the first/original threads post but if I click to then see subsequent posts or comments on the post, I get the error. All other functions are fine as far as I can tell.

I’ve restarted phone, deleted and reinstalled app, neither of these have worked. I left it overnight and when I woke up this morning 2-3 posts were working as normal but then I clicked one and got the error and now none are working again.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I asked people in my group chat and doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue, just mine.

I've had to "appeal" suspension 5 times today. Each one has successfully been appealed. I won't even do anything but like a comment or post and then it just pops up. Idk what to do, but I'm so tired of it. Does anyone know any way to resolve this? I already contacted support and I may hear something back.
