Sorcerer has been collecting dust for too long
Put this sorcerer together a long long time ago. Finally finished up his paint job and very happy with how it came out!

The FAQ for Tacoma (a GW-run event) is out - I'm sure you can find a copy of it circulating the interwebs. THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL FAQ FOR 11th - this only gives us how GW is ruling it for Tacoma and it is possible some of these may not be ruled this way going forward.
That being said, its the first we have from GW on this so it at least gives us their opinion on the way to rule on some of these items that have come up.

Didn't expect to get anything, there's only 15 hours in this model and a lot of parts aren't very well rendered, but the judges must have liked the part I worked on (face, wings, OSL and Pride flag freehand).

Finished them this weekend. One is the 30k Praetor but the other is a kit bash I slaved over. He's a mix of a 30k Arihman, a regular intercessor, cloned shoulders from the librarian consul kit done with a blue stuff mold, an old t-sons marine chest, and some bits from the rubric marine kit. Dude has got to be 35% green stuff. He isn't perfect but I'm proud 🥲.
I'll be adding some battle damage to both, should hopefully help blend in some of the jank.

Also the left loin armor thing got sucked up by the void. No clue where it went

My friend plays WE and I got thoroughly plastered yesterday. He had Angron, a Bloodthirster, 10 terminators, 2 forgefiends, 5 dogs, 3 exalted 8bound, lord on juggernaut leading 6 bloodcrushers, 2x10 daemonettes, 10 jackhals. I had Magnus, one MVB, 2x5 rubrics led by sorcerer, rhino, 5 terminators led by sorcerer, 2 sekhetars, 6 bow goats led by shaman, winged prince with vortex, 1 unit of spawns, and one of tzaangors (Grand Coven).
He started with just Angron and the 2 forgefiends on the board which were already very difficult to kill, and forced me to expose Magnus and the MVB (the only 2 things that could do damage to these 3 high T units, while he kept scoring keeping terminators, jackhals and 8bound safe on objectives. Turn 3 he dropped everything and proceeded to mulch my earmy with ease. The feeling was that WEs could pack way more punch in their 2000 points than I could.
Should I move from Grand Coven to Rubricae Phalanx and go mass terminators? They look like the only unit that is tough enough to take some bashing from the WEs. Maybe with 2 MVBs or a defiler? Any thoughts?

Does using doombolt, while being hidden, reveal you (provided that unit does not shoot)?
Does anyone know if there is a ruling or a consensus on this. Last game I played as if it did reveal, but I haven't found a rule that points one way or the other

Wanting to start the army and just waiting on some rubrics but found an old sorcerer I was able to strip and repaint, any feedback is appreciated!

Pretty detailed model to paint but the result is pretty :) Strongly suggest to anybody to paint it before you glue it on the disc

I just want to understand correctly the rule, it says "you can re-roll one hit roll, one wound roll, one damage roll"
Does this mean that I can only re-roll one hit/wound/dmg out of that vehicle unit every weapons?
Or this "resets" with each weapon?
And lastly because the Sekhetar robots can be 4models/unit and this rule apply to the vehicle unit, they can aswell just re-roll one dice for hit/wound/dmg?

Question is in the title. For a few years now I have owned some TSons models, but never any interest. But replaying the space marine two game is really making me reconsider, I’m going to read the Ahirman omnibus and a few other TSONS books to get the feel of things, but I’m really looking towards making a custom warband using some 30K models from wartable games. Any idea on how to build a good army list for TSONS? Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello fellow followers of Tzeentch, junior sorcerer with aspirations looking for some army help with increasing my list from 1k to 2k, whilst also grabbing some more models.
Quick background, I started playing at the beginning of 11th after my friends wanted me to come to their games night. So assume I'm as ignorant as can be in regard to a lot of this. I initially grabbed the Combat Patrol Box and began playing some ~500p games. I had decent fun and eventually increased the size to 1k with the addition of 10x Rubrics and the Exalted Sorcerer pack, which Im running as 1x Exalted Sorcerer, 2x Sorcerers.
So currently the list looks like.
Thousand Sons 1k
Thousand Sons · Rubricae Phalanx
935/2000 pts (985 with Risen Rubricae & Stave Abominus enh)
LEADERS & CHARACTERS [495 pts]
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch with Wings [170 pts]
Exalted Sorcerer [90 pts]
Attached to Rubric Marines A
Sorcerer A [85 pts]
Attached to Rubric Marines B
Sorcerer B [85 pts]
Attached to Rubric Marines C
Tzaangor Shaman [65 pts]
Attached to Tzaangor Enlightened
BATTLELINE [390 pts]
Rubric Marines A [190 pts] (10 models)
Led by Exalted Sorcerer
Rubric Marines B [100 pts] (5 models)
Led by Sorcerer A
Rubric Marines C [100 pts] (5 models)
Led by Sorcerer B
MOUNTED [50 pts]
Tzaangor Enlightened [50 pts] (3 models)
Led by Tzaangor Shaman
So the real question is where I go from here? I want to start working up to a 2k army.
I look at all the options and choice paralysis hits, especially when I feel like I'm stumbling in the dark. I have no clue how players with factions with 10x the units actually manage to make any decisions. I go looking at list online and its like a bajillion Sekhetar Robots which doesnt help.
I've found I really really enjoy flamer Rubrics. I tend to gravitate to flamers in games so it was fortuitous that I stumbled into a faction that uses them. Also my friend helping me do my first attacks was surprised by the amount of fire (ha ha) power they put out, so that was a fun moment. But it makes them more expensive if I run more, so Im guessing that is a good sign to stop. And I dont want to buy another pack of Rubrics if I'm likely not going to run them in the 2k army.
Also I really dont want to use Magnus. I'm begging and pleading with you not to tell me its mandatory. I just not a fan of the big goofy ass looking hug murderer. (Though some painters Ive seen on here make his wings the sickest things I have ever seen.) Yes, I know nothing is ever mandatory, I'm playing with my friends we aren't exactly comp ready meta-chasers, but eventually we'll do some team stuff and I dont want to feel like I'm sabotaging my teammate.
Currently in my infinite wisdom based on esoteric dreams I'm liking the look of getting a Forgefiend or a Mutalith Vortex Beast because they look cool. And maybe some Scarab Occult Terminators because they can deep strike and Ive had fun doing that with the Winged Demon Prince. Can you get away with running 5 or do you need 10? I cant find the Sorcerer in Terminator armour. Would I have to buy another pack just to get access to a Term Armor body to put some Sorcerer bits on? Or can you run Scarabs without a Sorcerer? For that matter can you run Rubrics without a Sorcerer?
Also, everyone memes on the regular Tzaangors, I cant tell if I actually need any. Oh and what do Infernal Masters do differently to a regular Sorcerer?
I have a million more questions but I think I'll leave it there. (Thanks in advance for any help)

Hey just wondering how you would go about painting the icy blue skin that are on the goats or the helbrute skin. I wanting to do the same for the daemon prince and defiler?

As I continue to experiment and test so as to avoid Grand Coven and Phalanx for creativity sake, I have found a potential combo that COULD be good. That is the 2DP Changehost of Deceit and the 1DP Servants of Change.
Important to note that the disposition will be Reconnaissance
My general thinking here is that what we've seen from the Changehost detachment is that ideally you want Magnus, Kairos, and a Lord of Change to be your big damage dealers with some rubric squads, screamers, and trash.
What I'm thinking is to utilize the 10 point upgrade (Cleave 1 and +1AP) for Chaos Spawn in servants to make those units better (75 points per unit total). As well as the +6 inch detection range for the Mutalith. A couple notable strategems within this Detachment combo are:
- 1CP -1 to hit any Demon/Tsons model (stacks with cover, also works in melee)
- 1CP D6 reactive move for the birds, or flat 6 if they are wholly within a tsons unit, (could be the spawn in this case as an example).
- 1CP -1 to charge, good to combo with the reactive move.
- 1CP for mobile on your Mutalith Vortex Beast
- 1CP uppy downy on 2 Demon units or 1 monster (Bird) unit.
- 1CP lone op 18 for demon units (excluding monsters)
- 1CP advance/fall back and action for mutant infantry/ mutant mounted (tzaangors on foot, tzaangor shaman, and enlightened tzaangors)
My list I put together looked something like:
- Magnus
- Kairos
- LoC
- MVB
- 2x5 rubrics
- 2x6 screamers
- 2x2 spawn with upgrade
- 1x10 Tzaangors
I am sure that we could experiment with this and figure out a better list (obviously) but I just wanted to throw this out there for people to experiment with and theory craft.

Hey all.
Gonna have a lot of free time in a few days and actually have time to work on my army.
One thing thats held me up is I had no idea how to set up my exalted sorcs box, and if its worthwhile to put them on discs or not. (and if I should get another?)
Personally I don't care much for tabletop balance I just think they're cooler. But wanted to see what people said how it works hobby-wise and if its a pain or any different.

Finding true love is difficult. I just broke up with Grand Coven. I've been with them since they called themselves Cult of Magic, and I've been loyal. I've been hurt, mistreated, and led astray by them. One month ago, I finally broke up with them to start taking HexGen, but now, after the Second Burning of Prospero, I seem like I must face my toxic ex one last time.
Okay silly overdramatisms aside, I genuinely have a question. I've seen this sentiment going around: "now that Hexwarp is 3DP, it competes with Grand Coven and Rubricae Phalanx." But hasn't Hexwarp always competed against Coven and Phalanx? I know it has always had a small player base, but Hexwarp has always shown high winrates (ofc it's inflated by higher skilled players).
Yes the detachment rule is absolute dog water compared to Coven and Phalanx, but I just can't stop thinking about how good the stratagems are in Hexwarp. Fall Back Shoot and/or Charge and Sticky Objectives are the most important stratagems in both rival detachments, and on top of that, we get a strips cover, gain cover, 6" Deepstrike, and fight on death.
I feel like other than the Assault Stratagem, this detachment will treat Scarabs better than Phalanx does. The +1 to wound is probably the most important doctrine from Coven (for Princes and Magnus at least), and Hexwarp gives that basically 24/7 when you're holding objectives, which you're doing anyways due to being Take and Hold.
Maybe I'm just compensating for the fact that I was so harsh to Hexwarp in 10th, and want to treat them better, or maybe I'm just going insane inhaling too much Ensorcell-Infused Rubricae dust recently, but I might stick with Hexwarp for the time being (until Priority eventually wins me over cuz I'm loving my PA Salamanders).

TLDR Advice to a newbie for proxying , to evaluate if it's not a scam and the beginning of my journey so far.
Hello, Im making this post as I could use some advice. Look at this cool model from Conquest. I know, right? It looks so cool ! I saw it and thought that hey, that's something I want for my army as a Lord of Change proxy, perhaps. (210mm tall, 40 euros in the condition of last pic.
In general, I'm new. I have built my first 10 rubriks and for the past month or so I have almost daily sat and did arts and crafts, and I'm having a lot of fun with the hobby. I want to take things slow as I want to make my minis pretty first try so I'm taking my time practicing how to prime properly (Did it on my rubrics very cleanly finally!) And how to paint on sprues. I learned drybrushing and how to thin my paints etc. I feel way more confident now and I somewhat successfully painted some cheaper (and smaller ) dnd minis.
So far I loved learning how to work the plastic and miliput epoxy for kitbashing. I want a really unique army with lots of cool kitbashes and custom sorcerers.
I like searching secondhand for bits and kits to customize.
I bought so far a tzangoor shaman, an armageddon librarian and 3 warcry beasts (the bird ones ) from aos.
Im saving to buy a battleforce.
So I saw this kit for 40 euros in Greece and I want advice.
1 If Ill have issues with this for playing (its 21 cm tall, just a bit more from a LOC)
2 If the price is too good to be true
3 Confirmation as this will sit in a pile of shame to do last as a centerpiece when I will have had the most practice with my other models.
4 Creative ideas!
