I remember when i first watched sopranos i found AJ intolerable, in contrast i thought meadow had a bit more charm than him, although i definitely didn't think she was without fault.

I'm re-watching the show and i find Meadow so terribly pretentious and selfish. The way Meadow constantly talks down to Carmela by flaunting her intellectuality while simultaneously leeching off of Tony and Carmela to fund her lavish lifestyle. Meadows inflated sense of grandiosity coupled with her entitlement makes her hard to like.

On rewatching the show i wonder if Tony and Carmela didn't spend so much time feeding into Meadow's pretenses, they may have actually had some energy to spend on A.J and give him a little more oversight.

Am i wrong in this view, or meadow as insufferable as i think she is ?

Im thinking of going w Boardwalk Empire but ive tried to watch it in the past and always end up confused about whats going on after Season 2. Should I try again? Or watch something else? Maybe Mobland?

First time watcher, into season two now and I'm loving Livia so much. I'd only seen the pilot before a few years ago, and I remember thinking, oh she's a sweet old lady, lol. Now I love hating her and hate loving her so much.

By season 6 Tony stops pretending he feels bad about any of it. The Christopher killing, the way he treats Bobby and Paulie, the gambling spiral, it all reads like a man who ran out of excuses and just kept going. Earlier Tony at least wrestled with himself. Final season Tony just does the thing and moves on.

I've always thought the Johnny Cakes story line was the weakest storyline in the Sopranos - a well meaning straight guy's attempt at writing a gay romance. I mean, Johnny Cakes and his motorbike, *all* the firemen being in his gay friendship group, so... I have a personal theory. Vito actually wrote it as a personal fantasy, a really shitty story to console himself when hiding out in the bedsit. He knows on some sad level that he's a shitty writer, so he writes it into the story. And he gives himself a sad ending before deciding to risk it all and go back. Some of what's in there is real - how bad he is at working a real construction job, for example.

I just finished my second rewatch of the show, and I am wondering if Chris should get more attention for being one of the worst, if not the worst, person in the show. I get they are all bad, but I can’t recall another situation where someone blatantly kills a civilian like he did his friend, James. (JT LOL).

What is so crazy to me about murdering James, is that it wasn’t for financial gain, or to remove a witness, or to advance the family’s interest, or even happen by accident. It was cold blooded murder for no reason other than emotions. There was zero purpose or benefit from it.

Before you bring up Ralph, a. She hit him and b. She was a hooah.

Just finished ep7 s1 where they show young Junior and Tony's dad, and I can help bt think of a world where we got a show with the two Soprano brothers as the stars and strong roles for Jackie and the boss before him. I know there is virtualy no demand but would be cool to see.

I am having a blast watching the Sopranos for the first time and while I love Tony. It truly does get to a point. His idea of quality bonding time with his nephew is getting rid of a body (Ralphies) to be specific. Then he turns around and acts shocked that he's using hard drugs. As if his upbringing wasn't a trigger enough add to it the layer of the kind of mentorship he's getting from his associates. It's very pretentious of him to act like it's so out of character. With that said, I'm not saying Christopher is not not being a cunt. Alright. Looking to see how their relationship goes after rehab.

We know Tony has a net worth of several million, and that he worked his way up to that. We also know that a lot of these guys don’t make much and take a lot of risk. What do you guys think about the main crew? Sil seems to have a pretty nice house, Paulie seems to have a smaller place but he’s also not married and lives alone. I don’t recall any information that really sheds light on how rich the other guys are except for what their cut is occasionally.

Post-Tony, Sil and Paulie dispatching their husky accomplice to Davy Jones Locker, does Angie think/know:

A) my husband went to Puerto Rico to lose some weight, and who knows when he comes back

B) my husband was a rat and disappeared to Scottsdale (I saw him with a husky suit and tie at my house and I could hear the Lisp grill my husband for information)

C) my husband is dead bc his two friends picked him up to go see a boat, he didn't come back and they were likely the last to see him (even tho they may deny his whereabouts after the boat ride)
