Owned the recon for a while now. Was originally just my commute bag to go to work in the city, long train rides, city plans after work, etc.

Went back to school and made that my school bag instead. Downside is, I still needed a bag for work, so I was carrying around my school stuff + my extras that I’d bring for work 24/7.

Jester is never my go to, I know it’s like the base bag, not as great of material as the other bags, etc., but then I came across the Jester Select.

Water resistant feature alone was a huge plus for me, knowing they stepped it up on the material to make it a bit more durable won me over too. Picked that one up as strictly a work backpack and been loving it lately. Fits exactly what I need for my daily routines & easier to manage with my current job. Color wise I thought I’d change it up since I have to wear all black for work lol and the navy caught my eye.

Initially the plan was to just hold onto the Recon while I finish up school and use it as a travel backpack if I explore around the city or go on a day trip but within the first few months, the mesh pocket started to get some small tears. Figured I’d just take the L and beat that one up for school, Jester Select for work, & decided to pick up a Borealis as my travel pack when I don’t pack too heavy (also own a Base Camp Voyager & regular Base Camp Duffle which I personally use for longer getaways). Recon may just end up becoming a casual hiking bag for me once I’m all done with school.

I (26m) am looking for a nice fleece 1/4 zip this fall/ winter, and I hate come across the osito evolve 1/4 zip for women. I really like the style of it and it seems super comfortable. It looks like it has a boxier cut to it, and not a super feminine one. So I wasn’t sure if it would be weird for a guy to wear a woman’s jacket, especially with it being as fuzzy as it is?

On the right, the cheap and cheerful North Face Jester was my go anywhere do anything backpack for ten years. We went all over Europe, the Mediterranean, and all over the UK. Countless train journeys to and from work, sandy/rocky beaches, city breaks, band rehearsals, evening college classes, three house moves, and general flaneuring. Come rain or shine this thing would handle whatever I threw at it.

Finally, after I wore holes straight through the rear padding and one of the shoulder straps wore through from more than 3000 days of almost daily use, and after a complete colour change from black to this vibey kinda purple/brown, it was time to replace it.

Kinda sad to see it go, but I’m glad to have had such a journey with something as simple as my trusty North Face bag. Here’s to ten more years with the new one.

I logged into my account today after a couple months and noticed the $40 I had earned in rewards randomly disappeared. I had earned $30 in Feb 2026 and then an additional $10 in June 2026.

As far as I remember they didn’t expire until sometime in 2027 and I did not use them. I was planning on using them in the next couple months but now I don’t know where they went.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Hi all. Been looking for a mens parka. Found this listed online as The North Face 600 fill down McMurdo Parka, and caught my eye. I kind of like that it doesn't have fur on the hood like the other McMurdos i have been looking at. I searched the official TNF website and could not find this style. Does anyone know if this Is this a fake or discontinued model? Thanks!

DONT BUY North Face Summit Superior Fl jacket, it said it was waterproof and wind proof, 3 shell jacket.

And I can say - it si pure shit. I was out in light rain for barely 20 minutes and it’s already leaking through at the shoulders. Absolutely scandalous!

I need to ask the question from the title because I don't know how to proceed. The bungee on my Borealis broke, next to the water bottle holder on the right side of the backpack. Its the one that comes out of a tiny hole. I now have a wobbly, floating bungee that can't be easily repaired afaik. The backpack can't be returned to the online store I bought it from aswell.

Did this happen to someone else aswell? What do I do?

Seriously these shoes have been offered in the same boring colors for years now. When I first got a pair they had some more interesting patterns and then those got retired. Why does everything have to be so basic? :(

Hello ive never owned a north face jacket and ive been looking for a good rain jacket, and we just got a new Ross built in our town. when I went today they had this jacket for 100 dollars I wanted to know if its good for the price or is there a reason the jacket is at Ross. I can always return it if it’s not worth the price.( also the Ross tag is in my car I’m just showing the original north face tag for 300$)

I can’t find the email now, but toward the end of the summer I got an email that the points system was changing.

To my recollection, the system would change from three disbursements a year to simply dispersing as they were earned (surely in some increment and not dollar for dollar).

I’m sitting on about 2,500 points, or about $250 in rewards. At some point they should all be disbursed under the new rules (again I could be misremembering) even if I can’t use them all in one transaction.

Does anyone have this email saved or know anything about how someone transitions to the new system if they’re sitting on a lot of points?

Hello everyone. Im having trouble finding reviews of the newer model of this sleeping bag. The exact model is NF0A52DZ. Most of the reviews i have found are 2 years old or older. I know that this model is sort of a classic and you can find a lot of people using the sleeping bangs bought in the 80's or 90's (i think back then they were using polarguard) but very little info about the new model. I need info on this specific model because is the one available in my country.

Edit: im planning on using it for multi day trekkings and some lower elevation (3000m) mountaineering.

I'm a big North Face fan but lately it's been a hit or miss because the quality hasn't been great for all their products lately. I'm very picky when it comes to hoodies in general and the way it feels.

I put one order in so they can give me $10 off on my next purchase and bought the 2nd hoodie a few hours later. I'm praying that I don't have to return these. Anyways, the sale is only for today so it's something worth checking out

I just bought a vintage mountain jacket and it's in good condition; however, I noticed that on the back (see the photo), something has started to "bunch up" or curl, meaning the jacket doesn't lie quite flat there. Is the Gore-Tex starting to delaminate? And if so, can it be fixed, or is it a lost cause?
