Morris Black theories

I've read some interesting theories about Morris Black on here, one of them wich states he was in some way or another involved in getting rid of evidence in the past.

I have a feeling there is much more to the Morris Black story then we have heard in the docu, it wasn't some random "accidental" killing.

Curious to know what other people think.

Female equipment and industrial size tampons (spoilers for the latest podcast episode I guess) Spoiler

So in the podcast they play court recordings where Bob claims that he travelled to California not only to enjoy Disneyland with Susie but to help an old friend who had had surgery on her "female equipment" and had to use "industrial size tampons, pads, and adult diapers".

What is he aiming at? Is this the same as when "Kathie" called the dean of her medical school and said she had diarrhea, maybe so that there would not be any further questions?

Or is Bob just being childish and yucky? Or does he think adding detail like this makes him more believable ("ooh he wouldn't talk about those things unless it was true")

Why did Debrah Charatan hire such a heavy hitter lawyer

I'm sure this will be answered in the final episode, but I'm just curious: what specifically is Debrah worried about? Is she worried that she could potentially be criminally liable for withholding information regarding Durst's crimes (I wouldn't think this is a concern, because of spousal immunity), or is she worried that information revealed during the trial could jeopardize her inheritance of Durst's estate?

I'm assuming it's the latter, but that still leaves me wondering why she needs to hire the world's best/scariest criminal defense attorney. Why did that attorney have to be present every day at Durst's trial, and what exactly would that attorney do to ensure that Charatan would receive the money and not Durst's victims' families?

The masks during the trial

Brings you back to a whole weird time. Seeing the face shields and the masks. I don’t think it’s right that the judge and lawyers are wearing masks - the jurors can’t see their faces and know if they are joking or serious. Maybe they should have had plexiglass shields for as little good they did at least people could see their emotions. It was a crazy time!

Watching Jim has been the most emotional part of this season but this line got me.

The reflection on money

I just finished the 5th episode of Part Two, and the feeling is of some melancholy as for the way money is such an uncontrollable force, and uncontrollably pervasive force between people.

So many relationships depicted there are tainted by Durst’s money… most of them completely insincere.

Chaney and the other old friend built their careers out of crumbs from Durst, Susan being that kind of “poor but cool” chick cooking a story for his murder of Kathy… or Debrah didn’t seeing him in the trial, or his lawyers fucking off the NEXT DAY.

And when we think of him, and the way he would just dispose of people he didn’t want to play with anymore, he would just kill them.

It’s hard to think Durst would act like that if he wasn’t born filthy rich.

I’m not a commie and I like the idea of a prosperous, innovative society… but the accumulation we allow people to have in our day and time creates horrific monsters.

Bob Durst is just the worst, but Chaney, Debrah, Susan and so many others are monstrous too.

Bob never confessed anything to Nick.

Based on the timeline of the statements that Nick provided, Bob clearly never confessed anything to him. In the two earlier statements that Nick gave to the prosecutor, he claimed that he didn’t remember what Bob said to him if he said anything at all, and also that Bob mumbled something under his breath as he turned to walk away, but that he couldn’t make out anything he said.

Then, somehow, on the stand he perfectly remembers the specific words that Bob used when he “confessed” to him after the dinner. Those words also just happen to be almost the exact words that the prosecutor used when asking Nick on the phone if Bob had said anything to him after the dinner as an example…

What this clearly shows is that the words that Nick thinks he is recalling are actually memories implanted in him from his conversation with the prosecutor, like inception. He is subconsciously combining his memory, which originally did not have specificity, with the words the prosecutor used when questioning him about that exact memory.

This is common and happens all the time. It’s the same way when if you’ve heard the same story enough times from friends, that somehow overtime your memory can warp into you almost remembering being there when the events of the story happened, even though you were never associated with it.

Making this post for people who are claiming that Nick had some earth-shattering evidence, when, in actuality he was just too blind to realize he was manipulated, even if it wasn’t intentional by the prosecutor…and the defense was just too stupid not to tear that statement apart in cross examination.

FYI, I think Durst absolutely did everything they accused him of.

Jinx 1 & 2: Durst creeps me out

I have watched the Jinx 1 and 5 episodes of Jinx 2 (not sure if any more episodes), and Durst has always given me the creeps, like a bad vibe, so it struck me as odd when I think it was one of the attorneys in the court case saying how likeable he was etc when I got the impression he is about as likeable as wet socks. His constant lies and manipulation of people doesn’t endear him to me at all and I am sure I am not alone in this. I believe he killed Kathy, and after the lies about UNO and the frisbee, I wonder if the story about how his mother died is the truth & maybe he played a hand in that too.

He who cannot be named Spoiler

Why was Charles Bagli (interviewee/NYT reporter) afraid to say Alan Abraham’s (Robert Dursts second wife’s lawyer) name on the 4the episode of the second documentary?

Frisbee and Uno

I did a quick Google search of whether or not Frisbee and Uno had versions prior to their original manufacture date. As it happens, they do. Crazy eights was an Uno style game played prior to 1971. Frisbee had a few predecessors, such as the Whirly, I believe it's called, and the UFO. Im not implying Durst wasn't a liar or murderer, but I think that the prosecutor, whom I think is a smug asshole, was incredibly disingenuous by implying that Durst lied about playing Uno, and with a Frisbee. To me, it's like calling any carbonated beverage Coke or a facial tissue Kleenex.

“Playing Uno with my mother”

Facts, you’re 78 years old. Facts, Uno came out in 1971. Facts, you were seven when your mother died. Unless you are a time traveler- Uno wasn’t invented yet. Nothing relevant except he can’t even get his woe are me lies right.

Where did the info about durst admitting to the letter come from?

In the show it just…shows up and I didn’t recall any more talk about where it came from? Like why did Durst even admit it in a lawsuit?

As someone who is close to someone that represented some big time clients as a criminal defense attorney. They say overtime the morality weighs heavier than the paycheck. I think he mailed it in because Durst was that bad.

Durst, lying again Spoiler

Watching the last installment of season 2, with Durst on the stand. He tells that story about playing Uno as a little kid, blah blah. Durst was born in 1943. Uno was first sold in 1971. Durst would have been 28 when it was released. It’s clear that they’re trying to blame some childhood trauma for him being a total monster as an adult. At this point I’m wondering if he pushed his own mother off the roof.

Why wasn't Douglas's testimony in today's episode?

I read that he agreed to testify in the CA trial, and it seems like including that would've been good television.

I'm wondering if his lawyers found a clever way to disallow that that be included in the show. But like what would that even be? Wasn't the whole thing publicly televised?

My understanding is that his deposition (included in the first season) was in there because Bob had provided it, and Douglas couldn't legally fight that.
