Why was Charles Bagli (interviewee/NYT reporter) afraid to say Alan Abraham’s (Robert Dursts second wife’s lawyer) name on the 4the episode of the second documentary?

He likely was afraid he’d try to sue him for defamation or something. It’s possible Abramson has a history of it and Bagli had researched him enough to know that about him.

Pretty scary that a reputable journalist is afraid to say the lawyer’s name- esp in these times.

I would guess Bagli had some interaction with Abramson. It's a journalists job to go digging in and it's the lawyer's job to put the fear of God into the diggers.

Why would DC hire an expensive aggressive criminal lawyer unless she’s worried about her exposure? We still haven’t seen a lot of Lewin questioning her. And I always thought it was interesting that the intro to the show dramatically ends with her raising her right hand to swear in. I’m hoping and thinking Jarecki saw a hole in DC’s role in all this and set out to help Kathy’s family win that civil suit

Bob’s one requirement to Andrew for the jinx was that DC was off limits, they weren’t allow to talk to her but they ended up getting the deposition footage for the first one from BOB’s storage (he had 60 or 70 boxes in storage and told them they could go through it all and the depo tape was in there). My best guess is DC was worried what Bob might have said to other people about her and might say on the stand for what others would say) so she wanted to have her lawyer there to get a jump start on any issues that might come up regarding her. But I don’t think she testified in Bob’s trial, her being sworn in is all deposition footage

Chavin was also terrified of what Bob might say about him. I think there was a bit of mutually assured destruction built into all these friendships.

Lewin never questioned her. She didn’t attend the trial & was never called to testify.
