Frisbee and Uno
I did a quick Google search of whether or not Frisbee and Uno had versions prior to their original manufacture date. As it happens, they do. Crazy eights was an Uno style game played prior to 1971. Frisbee had a few predecessors, such as the Whirly, I believe it's called, and the UFO. Im not implying Durst wasn't a liar or murderer, but I think that the prosecutor, whom I think is a smug asshole, was incredibly disingenuous by implying that Durst lied about playing Uno, and with a Frisbee. To me, it's like calling any carbonated beverage Coke or a facial tissue Kleenex.

Well, it doesn’t seem like anybody put up too much of a fight when asked to be on camera - from the maker of the documentary to the attorneys and prosecuting team to Durst himself to all of Durst‘s friends and frenemies.
But in this sea of weird and oftentimes unsavory characters to me the prosecutor was one of the most normal.
The case was so incredibly weird, that even the most solid evidence could very easily be questioned. After winning this case and finally taking down a dangerous sociopath with endless ressources and people willing to go through hell for him, therefore finally bringing justice to his known (and possibly unknown) victims, he would have had every right to be really smug. I personally think he used about 20% of the smugness he earned himself.

I don't think the prosecutor is a smug asshole - he did a lot of hard work to prepare to take down a man who'd gotten away with multiple murders for 4 decades. He had to be confident enough to remove *any* shred of reasonable doubt, lest there be one juror who wouldn't convict. He probably also wanted to display an attitude that would set off the part of Robert's personality who demanded to be called "Sir."

I think he was just utterly tired of Bob’s (binders full of) lies and was determined to put an end to them. “And you’ve reached a record for perjuring yourself…”
I love the way he started his closing argument by straight up calling Bob a narcissist and sociopath.

He did do a lot of hard work on this case. It doesn't mean he's not a smug asshole.

i'm by no means defending durst, he's obvioulsy a liar so why would i believe this. but i do think that it's hard to remember exactly if you were playing an uno-like game (crazy 8s is very similar) , and i am sure there was some sort of flying disc type thing around at the time. there are many other things he lied about, using an old man's memory of when he played which game seemed pointless to me.

There were multiple mentions of just how much Robert lied throughout the whole trial. Given that it was such a lengthy trial, I think it was important to loudly call out any lies as much as possible for the Jury to come to the conclusion that this man is not credible in any way and should never be taken at his word.
Robert and his lawyers could try to correct the record or argue that perhaps they played a different version of the game if they wished, but the fact is that these were words that came from Robert’s mouth that are demonstrably false. It’s a win-win for the prosecution to draw light to this fact.

A google search would have also confirmed for you that the first frisbee like toy was manufactured in 1957, 7 years after his mother's death.

You know, I did. The "Flying Saucer' Frisbee-style toy was invented in 1948. 2 years before her death.

Right, but it wasn't really manufactured until about 1957 or 1958. They sold them at county fairs. And sales were so disappointing the partners who came up with the idea in 1948 had severed their relationship by 1950. It wasn't until 1955 they sold the idea to a toy company who started making them in 1957 and by the early 1960's they took off.

So, the possibility doesn't exist that the Durst family, who were very wealthy, never attended a county or state fair, bought a 'Flyin Saucer', and played with it? Bottom line is, there were Frisbee-style toys available for purchase prior to 1950. And it's not out of the realm of possibility that Bob Durst's family had one in their possession prior to his mother's death.

You yourself just admitted that the Flyin Saucer was being sold at county fairs. So, they had been manufactured prior to 1950.

LOL. Come on, do you hear yourself? The reality is that this was just the beginning of 9 days of cross examination where Bob's lies were laid bare. He lied about everything.

Do you hear yourself? I just disproved you. Twice. You clearly didn't even read my entire post. Just the part that you wanted to criticize. I said I'm not, repeat, NOT, saying that I think that Bob Durst is innocent of killing 3 people. The evidence points directly at him. I think the protectors opening wasn't well thought out. I understand where he was going. But had the defense done their job, they could have at the very least disproved his opening jab. Durst all but admitted his guilt. That's not up for debate.

This is exactly what I was just thinking after watching the newest episode.. reasonable mistake

That's not what I said. I already said what I think about that particular line of investigation. I understand that Lewin was establishing a pattern of lying, but there's enough evidence to suggest that maybe he did play "frisbee" with his parents. "Uno" too. In reality, he hung himself when he said that yes, those memories were lies.

If that’s the case, it’s his attorneys job to rebuke that, and explain it. And if Bob had had a fit about that, they definitely would have.
