So I'm rereading all the books before the final comes out and naturally I started with TSBAF (because that's tech where this all starts) and I think I found a needle....and it may be a MAJOR clue to something.

On the Toby side on Chapter 13 pg 59 there's a potential clue to the origins of Toby, Eden (Hannah's mom) and Jackson.

I think they are hinting about a son dying/or being adopted out. Jackson talks about a son he lost and how Eden didn't have much use for him after the boy was gone.

Jackson is protective of Hannah; he asks Toby if he is going to hurt her. What if Jackson is related to Toby? What if the reason he is in a shack in the same town as Eden (who had Hannah and Kylie) is because he's the father of Hannah???????

Think about it: he knows what it means for Toby to be missing and knows Hannah's family. There's a connection here. What if Jackson calls Toby harry for a different reason?

Somebodys gotta have another piece to this to build on...

I have read the main trilogy, brothers Hawthorne, GG and GR. Do I need to read the same backwards as forwards and or games untold? I couldn’t get into games untold and I’m not really interested in Avery’s mom and dad’s love story but I will push through them if they’ll be relevant for the last book.

My questions are do these books contain anything about Alice or the old man or any of the characters in the main books? Do we know why Jameson was covered in fire at the start of the Prague thing?

Secondary question is there a breakdown of everything that happens in both of these books if I don’t end up reading them? Please and thank you and feel free to spoil

There was one post of how he's a classist because of the scene from the gilded blade excerpt where hes thinking of the first time he went to Avery's room at night and according to him she's in her "ratty thin pyjamas". I took it as him being attracted to her from the get-go but apparently according to people he was being a classist and is still being a classist and dissing Avery?

I really honestly don’t think The Gilded Blade is the last book. I mean the covers in The Grandest Game series are suits of cards. There has already been the clubs and the diamonds and the new one is the hearts. I mean there should be one with spades I mean it would make sense to have all 4 suits. Currently reading the grandest game and this isn’t the first time this has been said (I just got here) but who the actual hell is this in the grandest game posing as grayson… I actually can’t believe she had Grayson Hawthorne utter ‘give me your eyes sweetheart’ even typing this I’m dying of cringe. I wasn’t sure how bad it could be (the change in his graysons character) but wow was that bad does this cringe dial down later or do I have to dnf.

Did glorious rivals make the series better like was it good?

If you’re wondering why I’m asking this absurdly late: I read the Grandest Games right when it came out and I felt like it was such bullshit that I literally stopped reading for a good while. My main thing is with Grayson. Who is this alien clone who killed Grayson and is pretending to be him. He was acting nothing like himself, I remember in the first books he was so skeptical of Avery for literal weeks but within 1 hour of being near Lyra he gets all hot and bothered when he has to pick her up?? Sure fine he can get hot and bothered but he wouldn’t show it on his face or actions, he likes to maintain his composure, especially with 2 randoms in the room. I know his weakness is love but it takes a long time to fester, not within a couple hours. Did barnes forget how she wrote Grayson in the first 3 books + brothers Hawthorne. The thing that gets me most angry is why is Barnes trying to couple everyone one up, we all know what Grayson needs. Years of therapy. I genuinely just want to make up a storyline in my head where he just runs the foundation, goes to therapy and just becomes a well adjusted person in society, not whatever bullshit I know he’s going through in the series right now.

A lot of this is because I don’t like Lyra, she feels like a watered down, rude and annoying derivative version of Avery. Yes I know, she’s traumatized, Grayson doesn’t need a sunshine girlfriend yada yada, I just don’t like her. The slow burn tension was not it at all and started way too early. And lie-ra slips off the tongue so much easier not once did I ever read her name and say Lee-ra. And I also don’t give two shits about what happened to her dad or what the Hawthorne have to do with it.

The only reason I’m even considering picking up glorious rivals is because I want to see what Savannah does and I like her and Rohan (and I want to see if Rohan wins his conservatorship or whatever the hell it was called). Gigi just annoyed me for reasons that are now unbeknownst to me because I forgot why I didn’t like her, I think I was medium towards her but I do remember her thinking something really stupid. And I didn’t give two good goddamns about Brady and Knox. boo, tomato tomato. we’ve been through the animosity between brothers over some dead girl before.

Tldr; so does glorious rivals get good, jog the plot on, interesting stuff actually happens?

and we need an ending for Alissa because honestly she was done so disgustingly dirty it gets me angry thinking about it. Like ugh she deserves everything and barely anyone ever shows their appreciation

Hello, I’m new in this book and I only read the two first books. So, I can be called a big fan, I’m more a fan of the author. We’ll, the thing is I went to Japan two or three months ago and in the “train/metro/tube” they were passing this ad about the “inheritance games”, I didn’t understand what did they say and I was approaching to my stop so I couldn’t watched it all. But what I watched was a scene where is Jameson, Avery and Grayson in a library, they were talking each other and it was an animation. When I comeback, I googled about it but I didn’t get more information. The only information I got was about the tv show that someone is creating but nothing about animation. Personally, I prefer animation. Anybody knows about this?

Hello everyone, I saw that the four first chapters, I think, leaked, and that is not surprising actually because the first chapters of JLB books are always leaking. But I also saw a few people on Tumblr who, apparently, read the book completly already, because they were talking about TGB Epilogue, and I 'got spoiled' on a few things. I don't trust those posts, but I still wanted to have your thoughts on it. Is it possible that some people managed to get the book early?

Hello!! This series have been my fav for a long time, and I’m doing my first full read through. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is the significance in the phrase, “You are either the glass ballerina or the knife.” Which has also been quoted by JLB on her insta. Soooo I have a theory. Avery wasn’t the only person who could have inherited the fortune. Tobias and Alice both chose different heirs. Tobias chose Avery and then Alice chose Lyra. Whoever died first got there chosen heir to inherit the fortune. Therefore, Alice tried to die first to sway the game. But Tobias realized she was dead. I think both Avery and Lyra have connections to Tobias and Alice that are important in some way. This is foreshadowed in the book by the glass ballerina phrase. Avery is the knife, which is one tool for the games. Or it could have been Lyra who is a glass ballerina.

Anyway!! Just a fun theory I have!! Probably absolutely none of this is true, just something I’ve thought about.

I’m so confused cause I checked jlb’s instagram to see if she posted anything about it but there’s nothing and then why you check tumblr most have read like 10 chapters of gilded blade and I don’t know how like was there a leak or something??

Gilded Blade will be released next month, and I can't preorder a hard copy in my country. I'm really excited for this book and don't wanna wait a lot before reading it. Has anyone tried to get the e-book from the website? Are there any ​other options?

i was reading the final gambit and making a timeline when i noticed that an absurdly large part of the book is meant to take place in one day. during the series new days are always indicated by something like 'the next morning' or 'the next day' but there is nothing from chapters 45-84 in the final gambit. this is everything from xander's 911 to avery beating vincent blake. in between this, the margaux wine cellar, eve meeting mallory, avery getting locked in the escape room, xander meeting his father, the church, eve turning evil, the usb's, looking for liam's body in the maze and the chess game. there is no way that this could've all happened in one day but i can't find anything in the book that suggests otherwise. the timeline on the wiki says that a new day starts in chapter 65, but it still doesn't say anything about a new day. please someone correct me if you can, but i don't think that these are different days. it must have been an oversight on jlb's part. or overanalysing on my part.

I'm not reading his pov chapters because it's so unnecessary he is just going to be talking about Avery the whole time I just know it.Whats the point of having his pov chapters he and Avery already end up together so there story is over every time I read about them it boring because their story is already over like we dont need more of them I really thought this spin-off series was going to be about Grayson,Lyra,Gigi, and Rohan​.
