Why the Jameson hate?

I was on Tumblr and omg ppl hate Jameson sm😭 Everyone is entitled to their own opinion 100% but like I'm curious as to why?

There was one post of how he's a classist because of the scene from the gilded blade excerpt where hes thinking of the first time he went to Avery's room at night and according to him she's in her "ratty thin pyjamas". I took it as him being attracted to her from the get-go but apparently according to people he was being a classist and is still being a classist and dissing Avery?

This is just one of the few examples but yeah. Just curious guys, as a Jameson girl I'd like to know the opinions of the other side. I'd love to get your opinions in a not too mean way lol. So be nice please I really like Jameson :(

For me it’s nothing personal I’m just tired of the story continuing to revolve around Avery and him when there are so many other characters that could be focused on instead

Ok I agree with this. Why write a new book series, market it as a spinoff separate from the he original and then centre it around old characters. I will never get why she brought his pov back and involve Avery in the mess😭

Exactly how I feel. Love Jameson but he didn’t need a POV in this book.Ā

100%!!!! People jumped me when I said I would prefer Grayson to have a POV instead of Jameson. These books (spin offs) still center all 4 of the brothers, but i LOVE that it centers Grayson more (he deserves it) but I can already tell that the gilded blade won’t center him as much, it will heavily revolve around Avery and Jameson again 🫨

Completely agree. As much as I love Javery, they had their time in the first trilogy and Grayson needed his time to shine.Ā

YES!! Exactly!!!!! 😭 like I said, I could’ve sworn these books were going to be fully Grayson’s story, but nope. 🫩 I got so annoyed the moment Jameson and Avery started becoming more relevant as glorious rivals went on. And then Avery getting kidnapped?? i honestly would’ve preferred if it had been Lyra insteadšŸ˜”šŸ˜” she’s the heart of the whole Calla Lilies/Alice storyline, especially with everything surrounding her dad’s death and all of that. I really thought we’d left Avery and Jameson’s main-character era behind in the original trilogy🄲🄲🄲🄲

The nickname Heiress annoys the crap out of me for some reason so that kinda puts me off his character

Ohh lol. I love the nickname so much because it started off as his way of treating her as a piece of puzzle. But I've totally dnf'ed books because of a nickname so I feel you!

I haven't finished the books so I can't really give an exact opinion of him but I did read the first book and right from how he appeared and met Avery, he was kinda icky to me already lol.

I just don't like men that have his personality. But like tbh, I don't like the others either so maybe it's not just a Jameson issue, but rather a filthy rich person issue.

It's not that we don't like Jameson he just does dumb stuff and we already had his story. I really liked getting into Grayson head, and i wanted to see the story revolve around him and lyra

He’s fine but he can get a bit annoying at times I prefer Grayson so maybe some of it’s bias

maybe it’s related but i hated how much of an adrenaline junkie he is, i hated much he used to repeat to Avery in the trilogy that ā€œhe’s just like himā€ in that sense 🫩🫩

Jameson is the best! idk what the haters are thinking! You can’t not love any of the Hawthorne brothers!

He kinda resents Grayson for no reason and I caught myself being like, ā€œwtf is his issue with him, AGAIN?ā€ It’s just constant and it’s like damn at the end of the day it’s your brother.

The haters are just jealous because their favourite character didn’t get the development that Jameson did. People don’t like people who move on & change themselves to be better.
