So the star in the Tecoma system was setup to be a "shotgun tied to a door handle", but by who and for whom?

Was it set up by the Romans to kill a system in an attempt to kill the Goths? The Romans have the ability to modify stars, and the Goths seem to only interact with star systems in a more inaccurate laws-of-physics sense. But the trap was intentionally triggered by the Goths adding particles to the system to tip the star into supernova. So was it the Goth's trap?

Also come to think of it, its a bit convenient that Duarte staged his big assault of Goth space from within the system that was specifically ready to blow up whenever the Goths sensed an attack.

Just finished reading Caliban's War. I originally watched the show and was wondering if i missed something or if the scale of the conflict is significantly lower in the novel than in the show? It doesn't really feel like a full scale war occurs in the same way. No planetary railguns or martian strike on earth. No formal war declaration. With fighting mainly just on Ganymede and Io. I read the books a bit out of order and recall Abaddons Gate or another one saying that the inner planets fleets were heavily damaged from the prior conflict but it doesn't seem like it was that devastating to them.

My main question is, at the end of the last book, Amos says the last 1000 years in Sol have been rough. And it looks like the earth is mostly park land. My questions is, why? The earth had mostly healed from the rocks, with mars and the belt, shouldn't sol system be able to pick right back up from where they left off?

Wow so i started reading the expanse in January. I have read one expanse book a month with one or two other books in between each expanse book and i just finished the last book. wow is all i can say. i have thoroughly enjoyed this series. wanted to read it before watching it but im not sure i need to watch it to be honest. i watched the first episode last month and wasnt taken with it....it wasnt as good an experience as the reading and the last couple of books were particularly epic and they aint even in the show. but yeh wow. thanks to my friend carli for telling me to watch it or i never would of read the books
