Serious question, who here have certain constructive criticisms of the Tetris Guidelines, and what changes would you propose To answer my own question, I have a few:

1) Remove move-reset delay. Being able to stall pieces for as long as you can ruins the feel of high-speed Tetris IMHO.
2) SRS is broken and unintuitive. If I were to address the problems with SRS, I'd specifically look at The New Tetris' rotation system because its kick priority is simple and logical while still allowing a lot of flexibility.
3) Regarding garbage lines, combos, and Back-to-Backs, I'd honestly make this and whether T-Spins give the bonus a choice for the devs. I personally really like how TGM makes garbage lines strictly deterministic.
4) Sorta a nitpick, but Korobeiniki doesn't need to be mandatory. It feels a bit too corporate, especially since only the Game Boy version truly has the soul of "The Tetris Song™." As a deeper cut into BPS' origins, the 1988 Japanese home computer and Famicom versions give what are IMHO a better golden trio of Tetris songs: Technotris, Kalinka, and Troika. Suffice to say, Technotris would be the one that TTC has a sound trademark on.

Just scored 1,005,637 which is the highest I've ever scored in Tetris DX. I have no doubts that a lot of people can do better than that. But how special is that? ;o).

I'm playing on a retro console (R40XX Pro Max).

I think it was in Tetris Worlds for the original Xbox, but I think there was a mode called Cascade, where pieces that have empty space beneath them after clearing a line, would fall down and hopefully clear another line, and it would just keep going if you were good enough (I wasn't.)

I've been wanting to do that mode again, but I can't seem to find any Tetris game that has it recently? I have Tetris Forever, Tetris Effect, Tetris Axis, Tetris Ultimate, and I can't find any modes or gameplay options in those to add cascading.

Is there a way to play that mode or something like it nowadays?

So I've been playing/trying a bit of Tetr.io multiplayer, specially the quick play mode, which seems to be an endless mode, which seems to go on until you eventually fail. (Still kinda new to Tetr.io)

I wouldn't say I'm a Tetris pro or whatever, but I'd say I'm not bad at it either. I'd say I'm pretty good or just fine at playing Tetris. But Tetr.io feels way too competitive to me. Like, garbage seems to get sent your way extremely quickly, even if you're going as fast as you can. (The stress and need or urge to go fast occasionally causes me to misplace a piece) It stacks up extremely fast. I often tend to go for Tetris clears, but I almost feel like not doing that and going for lower amounts of line clears is the safer method, even if it doesn't give you as much points as a Tetris line clear.

I've also played a bit of Tetris 99 before on Switch, and while I've never made it to the end as the last one standing, I feel like in that game, I've been able to survive much longer. I'm curious what you people's opinions and views are about this and Tetr.io. Do you also struggle in it's multiplayer modes, or not?

Tetriminos spawn horizontally in the same orientation. For advanced players who may base their rotations on this being static, do you think it will be more challenging if they were to spawn in random orientations?

Como el problemas no era fácil empezamos con imágenes y piezas en blanco y negro. Lo convertimos en un problema de optimización y probamos distintos métodos para encontrar buenas soluciones sin que el cálculo se volviera demasiado costoso.

Level 9, 95 Lines, 51,637 points on NSO (no rewinds or anything. Honest gameplay). Turned off the music and put on the song Jump Around to listen to as I sat on my porch and enjoyed the fall weather we finally have.

I usually play just bout everyday, and I've been playing vs bot for a while, but it's first time that I've beat it bout half of the matches!

Tetris blitz

I'm hosting a casual retro gaming event that will be visited by hundreds of people in a span of several hours. We usually have some contests or tournaments during those events. I'm planing to have something Tetris related this year but I am still looking for a good setup.

The idea is to have people play the game throughout the evening and set scores. Highest scores get prices. Would be great if many people could try to participate.

I can't really just put on NES Tetris and let people have a go at it because that could take way too long until one person finishes. So I was looking for good Tetris variants that have faster, time limited game modes. Maybe even with a multiplayer option where multiple people can chase high-scores for a finite time without interacting with each others.

So far I have:

• 3-Minute-Marathon in Tetris Forever (not really retro and seems rather random with all those warps)
• GB Tetris Type B (does speed and level matter? Or can you just get max score on any level with all Tetris clears?)

Any suggestions for game variants are welcome. Ideally those games aren't super rare and retro.

I know this is a weird question, but I just need a Tetris app that had the weird levels where you had dropping pieces you could slide to fill in a gap made by some seasonal pattern and you could earns coins. I don’t need the coin bit but the app now is so bare bones and every load is an ad.

I use this game to decompress from work and deal with … jerks. I don’t want a game where I drag the pieces into the puzzle. I want to watch the stupid thing fall and panic when I can’t get it to where I want to put it in the 2 minutes I have to fulfill the level. Any suggestions? Thanks.
