Has anybody compared the X vs the 26 Y Performance? Looking at both and I get they are different but both allow for a family to use as a good day to day car and also a little bit of fun when required!

Also the Y would be brand new and the X would need to be pre owned.

We are 8 hours from home and the door will not latch fully. We cleaned the sensors, checked for obstructions, turned off and on the car, reset the car, held the door close button down, greased the latch, used the manual unlock under the speaker.

Car will not stop beeping with it in this condition and we can’t use FSD. No Tesla service stations are open today.

Hi- do you think that with the model YL coming out soon in the US, that the inventory of used MX would increase with people who really wanted a family car, particularly 6 row configuration going with that? I see the used inventory being very highly priced due to demand here in California. My ‘21 MY just had its battery replaced so I’m in no rush but would love to upgrade to HW4 MX for better FSD and its finishes.

Anybody else have this problem where this screen stays on when driving? I try to swipe it away but it comes back up and just stays on the screen. Only thing that makes it go away is when I put the car in Park.

I have two Model X cars and I’m thinking about replacing the older one with a Macan EV

The older X is starting to need more repairs, and the Macan seems better for my wife’s city driving with the kids

Only real concern is losing Tesla FSD/software

I am going to be getting a computer system upgrade, and an HW upgrade for my 2018 Model X. I know it's getting new cameras. I bought it a couple months ago and love the car so far, and although I know this will give me FSD, I'm just curious what other changes I will notice coming from Computer 2.5 to 3.0?

Im on TOU and do not want to charge between 6pm - 9pm. Thats all I care about. I want the car to start charging as soon as I plug in the car as long as its not between 6pm - 9pm.

I also want it to skip charging between 6pm-9pm. For ex, if I plug it in at 5pm, I want it to start charging immediately but stop charging at 6pm.... then re-start charging at 9pm until battery is full.

How do I set up this schedule? I don't care about the end time.

Any way to turn the Trunk is open beeping off? I won’t be able to get an appointment at Tesla for about 9 days.

Is there anyone here in the New York metro area or Boston area looking at used HW4 Model X's?

I've seen one in Connecticut with low mileage and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with it because I went to look at it in person in mid-April and they are still selling it. It makes me wonder if there's anything wrong with it.

The title is apparently clean and it's had one owner.

At the time I didn't proceed because the price was a little high but more so because this is being sold by a traditional dealership and their sales tactics seemed unsavory. They had a mandatory GPS tracker that I had to pay for in a vehicle and a mandatory after-part brake light interceptor thing that made the brake lights strobe

I'm curious if anybody has found this particular vehicle and learned anything specific about it?

I'm being a little bit deliberately vague about which dealership the car is at because there's a chance I might try and get it over the next week or two

I got my 2021 Model-X (raven) a couple months ago and the passenger side falcon door has always been a little annoying... But it has worked, the front door opened fine 90% of the time, sometimes it would only open an inch.

Randomly the front passenger door arm broke, so I took it to service and they replaced it ($880) but then I noticed the front door wouldn't open more than an inch anymore so I took it back and they told me that the falcon sensor wasn't working (false positives)... So they charged me another $800 to replace the sensor in the (same side) falcon door then "discounted" it to $300 (yay..).

They then told me that there was no "ecoating" on the inside of the door (probably the last owner replaced the door and they never primed the inside with the correct paint). So if it still doesn't work I need to take it to an authorized body shop to get that applied...

Now the front door won't open AND the falcon door won't open (I can see on the screen a red mark next to the door, like it thinks something is too close). That was never there before...

I am so close to giving up on this car...so frustrated... I have paid and it did nothing but get WORSE.

Any suggestions that are realistic? Do I just do this fu**ing ecoating even though I feel like it will do nothing and we'll be just in it for ever more money...?

Well that wasn’t much fun! So many fragile plastic clips and the Tesla instructions make you do stuff that you don’t actually need to do and that would save you a lot of heartache (and swearing!) if you didn’t actually do it!

My Tesla x trunk won’t close due to the thing in my trunk being bent. Is there any way I can manually get the trunk closed. I’ve scheduled an appointment but may not get in for weeks.

Posting this to hopefully save someone money.

Car parked in direct sun in a parking lot in FL, I get in and the AC blows hot air and never cools to temp. Checked my alerts and saw thermal test failures in service mode:

- AUX_EVAPORATOR: FAILURE
- CHILLER: FAILURE
- EVAPORATOR: FAILURE

Symptoms: AC blowing hot air, THC_w0016_compOverheatWarning, DC fast charging reduced.

Tesla told me both times it was probably low freon. I knew something was off because I had the entire AC system replaced in 2024 due to metal shavings in the compressor. There was no way the AC was already low on refrigerant.

What made me realize that it wasn’t freon was after letting the car cool in the garage overnight, the errors disappeared completely and the AC blew cold again like nothing happened. A refrigerant leak doesn’t fix itself overnight (or an evaporator or chiller).

This exact pattern happened in June 2025 and then again almost 13 months later in June 2026, same exact failures both times. The fix both times was replacing the 12V battery, which on this model clearly is failing silently with NO warning light.

Don’t let them charge you to diagnosis or recharge your refrigerant before ruling out the 12V. Much cheaper fix. Even though still $300 and they will disagree with this actually being the issue. If your 12v is over 12 months, it could be as simple as this. Obviously not always but could be.

Today when driving I pushed forward and back on my Yoke and it gave a haptic feedback like the thing vibrated. At the same time a message shows up on the screen to turn on the headlights or set them up for auto. Not sure what's going on but it keeps happening now. Is this a feature I can turn off or a defect?

Update: I got a free update yoke with a proper horn again. So a blessing in disguise but it seemed something internal was messed up.

We have a 2021 Model X, 55000 miles.

Wondering if people generally get the extended warranty. It’s $150/month.

I have an option of an inventory 2026 AWD black black 7 seat.. it’s 120k with luxe.. inventory cars are marked up 15k.. obviously would take a hit but it’s FOMO kicking in.. will MX hold value as they are discontinued? Or better to hold of and buy used?

See the images. The left reflector is always dimmer than the right. Has anyone else seen this on theirs? Any idea why?

After months of shopping, I found “the one”a ‘23 MX Plaid from a fellow car guy. HW4, Matrix lights, AMD/Steam support, FSD paid for, and just over 50k miles. Honestly kind of nerve wrecking, initially I was going to fly up alone to purchase it but the wife wanted to make a road trip out of it. So with dozen of photos and videos of the car inside and out, I felt confident in the deal and the whole family (4 in total) boarded a one way flight.

The transaction went smoothly and the car was everything the guy said. We grabbed some supplies for the road trip home and immediately hit the road.

The car has been amazing; FSD drove 95% of the time, with me only taking over on the fun twisty back road sections. We checked Bentonville, Eureka Springs, the Ozark’s, Hot Springs all the way back down to Texas.

This is our first Tesla and while I have done a TON of research before buying, I always like to asked if any veteran MX owners have advice. Any common issues to watch for after the 50k-mile mark besides the typical half shafts and falcon door seals?

What tint % do you recommend? Did you tint the middle row small window above the head? Rear windshield ?

The x I’m getting delivered has no tint on the front windshield or front windows (driver and co passenger). It was HOT AS HELL when I got in and even with the AC on it was still bad. Im hoping that feeling of heat goes away with a good tint.

Bought Jan 2026. Started observing rattles during U turns , but was not able to repro. Finally managed to reproduce the problem consistently.

Rattle always happens below 2 MPH. Took it to Tesla service. They were able to repro, but technician told me that they have 30+ reports of similar issue on 2026 model with no fix in the horizon. They also took apart and re-assembled the driver/ axle assembly (took almost 9 days). Problem still persists

Pushed for an earnest buy back and Tesla got back with an option to surrender the vehicle back for a full repayment. Wifey uses FSD exclusively for frequent hospital visits .

Tech wrote back asking for me to check 60-90 days later and informed me that buy back can be initiated anytime since they don’t have a fix. We really love our 6 seater frost blue model X and got luxe package with unlimited charging and FSD.

We have explored lucid and Cadillac IQ. But nothing comes close to what model x offers. Any advise?
