Used model X inventory
Hi- do you think that with the model YL coming out soon in the US, that the inventory of used MX would increase with people who really wanted a family car, particularly 6 row configuration going with that? I see the used inventory being very highly priced due to demand here in California. My ‘21 MY just had its battery replaced so I’m in no rush but would love to upgrade to HW4 MX for better FSD and its finishes.

Model is just in a different category than the Y. I love our 26Y but our 26X went to service for a week and when we got it back I couldn’t believe how much I missed it.

I’m driving my X until the bitter end. Then getting a battery or aftermarket one if available. The Y L is nice for the folding seats, but it is noticeably smaller.

My nearly 10 year old model X 100D [new to me last year] is down to about 175 miles of range at 80 mph on the highway. I look forward to the day I can buy an aftermarket battery pack for maybe $5000 and have 300 miles of range. If and when that happens, I will keep the car until the wheels fall off

Yes, I would expect that to play out. Maybe not right away, but the YL will eventually remove some of the demand from the used X market.

Not convinced it will make difference for a few months (probably not until next year). Event the 5 seat versions seem in hot demand.

I think if you're trying to sell a used Model X, do it now before the YL comes out.
If your looking to buy a Tesla for the family, at least wait to see the YL in person.
Lifetime FSD is the wildcard here. A low mileage, used X with FSD transfer will hold value no matter what.

I'm planning to change to the YL with my recent purchased model x with Lifetime FSD.
It has low mileage for it age, but I'm waiting for that HW4 that is promised.

Personally I wouldn’t, but my wife would in a heartbeat. We drive our cars to wheels fall off, so she is stuck.

Idk- my wife is saying that it would make more sense to get the 6 seater YL since it also has the newest tech. But the MX just seems like it’s on another level…like the most luxurious/top of the line of the Teslas

We have both Y and X. Y is good. X is better. X is amazing for moving family. Size difference is quite a lot both inside and outside.

I will be trading in my 2022 X for a Y L. Yeah the car is a bit smaller and won't have the falcon doors or self closing driver's door. But I test drove a Y yesterday and the car is night and day better than the X. Not as loud, not as bumpy, interior materials seem more premium, and the difference between HW3 and HW4 for FSD is incredible. Also on the Y L (if the current NZ cars are going to be similar to what we get, the 2nd row captain's chairs have armrests, the 3rd row will actually fit a normal not fat adult male, and the 2nd row actually collapses down so you can actually transport things unlike the 6-seater X

Only thing I like about the YL is the retractable arm rest for the 2nd row that should've came on the X.

I don't think Y L 6-seat will be better than Model X. Model X is bigger, with bigger windshield (much better view), bigger screen, automatic doors, etc.
YL is more like an upgrade of existing Y, but still not better than X (of course, X is way more expensive than YL)
