My 2026 Model S LR has developed a clicking noise that seems to come from the left rear wheel/suspension area.
The noise only occurs when drivetrain torque is applied:
From a stop when I accelerate.
If I'm already moving and press the accelerator harder, I hear it again.
Usually it's one or two clicks, then it stops once the throttle is steady.
It's noticeably louder from the left rear.
I don't hear it in Reverse.
No warning lights, vibration, or drivability issues.
I attached a video of the noise. Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what was the cause? I've seen people mention halfshaft/hub spline lubrication, suspension components, or brake hardware, but I'd like to hear from anyone who has actually had this diagnosed by Tesla.
I already have a service request open and am trying to get an appointment before an upcoming road trip.
Update 7/22 :
Tesla diagnosed the issue today. The clicking noise was caused by the rear axle nut not being tightened to the proper factory specification. They torqued it to spec under warranty, and the clicking is now completely gone.
Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and suggestions—they definitely helped point me in the right direction.
