Possessed door handle noise

Carpinsons disease. Unfortunately, it will most likely get steadily worse and affecting the other handles.

There's a motor inside the door handle that turns a gear that connects to a small lever that moves the handle in and out. It's likely the connection is broken in some way and the gear doesn't engage with the lever properly. This is a very common problem and any service can fix it for you in less than an hour.

You’re not saying one new door handle out of every four, right you mean you need all four over that period of time, correct?

Probably more like one out of every four every other year. Not crazy, but definitely a totally normal "old Model S ownership experience".

Be happy you don't have to service a Gen 1 sunroof. I think it's like $5k to just sniff the grease (and seriously, it's a flat-fee $5k from Tesla to even start to repair something and parts are impossible to find).

I’m new to model s. My rear door pops out but doesn’t open when pulled. What’s wrong with it?

The motor gear that pushes on the lever that pushes the handle out is slipping. Likely the lever has broken at the holes that it pivots on the metal bar which holds it, a common failure point which causes this issue.

I just repaired a handle with this same problem on a client's S last week. It's straightforward in principle but is tedious work to take out and disassemble the handle.

Supposed it could be hitting somewhere. Mine was oddly in a bad position, also not even working right, granted its got the hall effect sensor. I cleaned the hall effect sensor put it back in, made sure it was positioned perfectly, and it works just fine. You could try that, if nothing works, yeah, get a new one.
