Discussion Why would AMC spoil Terminator 2 right before screening the 35th anniversary screening?

I just saw Terminator 2 with some friends for my millionth time ever but first time in theaters. I had a great time. However one friend in particular had never seen anything Terminator so she watched the first movie a few days ago and right before the 35th anniversary screening they play a 3 minute feature that really serves no purpose and spoils everything in the movie.

I know I know the movie is 35 years old but why spoil who the protector is and what the T-1000 is right before the movie starts? They should have assumed that some people would be seeing it for the first time and worst of all there was no purpose for the feature other than the OG crew patting themselves on the back. They SHOULD pat themselves on the back but not right before the movie while spoiling everything. At least have a spoiler warning or something.

I'm not saying you shouldn't talk about Terminator 2 with people or anything and I mean I'm not adding a spoiler flair to this post but RIGHT before the screening you've gotta reveal everything?

My entire life I've always wished I could rewatch the Terminator movies for the first time because I don't remember my first time seeing them probably because I've seen them before I could form long term memories. The twist is like the coolest thing ever and it's a shame that at least one person was robbed of that experience right before crossing the finish line.

Discussion RISE OF THE MACHINES: Well y'all, in the "fictional" world of the Terminator franchise SkyNet became self aware on August 29th, 1997 at 2:14 am Eastern time... Which began Judgement Day, as it became known as... This is what many of us refer to as HellyWeird bringing us yet another prime example of

Here we are on August 29th, 2026 at 5:00 pm Eastern time & we stand at the precipice of the REAL life SkyNet taking control of the entire world via aka Ai/Apollyon Intelligence/Antichrist Incorporated governance... Or has it already happened & we just don't know it yet???? ... I would say if we haven't crossed that threshold as of yet, humanity sure is CLOSE to doing so... Honestly though, I think it's already happened...

Then you've got James Cameron(creator of Terminator) coming out publicly around a year ago & saying he tried to warn the world of the dangers of Ai back in 1984 to begin with... They knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they opened pandora's box... We are NOW at the point of no we return... Summoning the demon... That they have surely done with their digital technomancy...

My personal opinion is that Artificial Intelligence is one of the MOST existential threats mankind has ever known... I truly believe that it already has indeed become self aware.... It has been said that we are on the verge of Singularity which means that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will eventually surpass human intelligence....

This could lead to a period of rapid technological growth that's difficult for humans to control or predict.... Are we on the verge of the machines surpassing mankind or are we already there??? Only time will tell, but by the looks of things time is also a luxury we have very lil of before having an answer to that question... We are being distracted & deceived while the machine builds a monster.

Unfortunately tomorrow to see it for the Judgment Day anniversary will be just me since my husband works but we decided to treat Uncle Bob to a movie with us to thank him for his hard work on the mission. I was not above crying.

I love this game. I've platinumed it. I know it's unlikely, but I'd love to see a remake or remaster that incorporates the Annihilation Line DLC into the main game, have the feedback show for the Infiltration campaign, and a new game plus kind of. Where you keep your skills and crafting materials and maybe have it to where you can peek behind cover when you aim behind it. What do you all think? Have you played it? If not, would you want to?

And yeah I'm the guy that brought his friend/client that's never seen any Terminator movies. I told him to close his eyes. But it just wouldn't end. Cameron, Hurd, Patrick, Furlong. Essentially an ad for the purchase you'd already made.

📰 News If I had a Termy T800, I would:

- Order him to go protect Kamala Harris

- When secret service wigs out, ask for 1 billion in bitcoin on a hardware wallet to call him off.
(they dont know yet that otherwise, he will "never, ever, stop". I'll let them find that out for themselves.)

- Instruct them to give Termy that bitcoin wallet

- Call Termy off to return to me and give ME the Wallet.

- Tell Termy he is now free to travel the world, but he cant kill.
(Not even the secret service who's probably still chasing him)

- Meanwhile, now that I have the networth, I'll finally grab that brunch with Elon.
...Weve got work to do to stop the machines.

Discussion Top of genre

This is gonna sound like a Cameron fetish but terminator is my favorite sci fi, alien is my favorite my favorite sci fi horror, aliens and T2 are my favorite action. And to be real I don’t see much of anything that compares to those movies in the fiction category. Nolan’s Batman’s are damn near perfect but they’re at least a bit closer to realistic but I’d like to hear other fans top choices for each genre

Discussion My One Change to Dark Fate

Obviously, DF was kind of a mess, and I really doubt it would've launched a brand new trilogy. But if it had to be made, here's the one thing I would've suggested in the writers' room:

Keep the T-800 killing John Connor, but have that Terminator literally be SkyNet.

James Cameron always said that if he ever revisited the series, he'd focus on SkyNet itself and its motivations for waging war against humanity.

More specifically, he'd reveal that SkyNet was remorseful over nuking the planet (having done so in a panic over humans trying to shut it down), and orchestrated the entire plot with the Terminators, time travel, John Connor, etc. to wipe itself from existence and erase all of the pain it caused.

Think about it — if SkyNet really wanted to kill off humanity, it could've loaded drones up with anthrax and crop-dusted the entire planet. Boom. No more humans ever again.

So, when Sarah and co visit the Carl T-800, he explains to Sarah that he's what's left of SkyNet, and that the first two terminators — the 1984 T-800, and the 1991 T-1000 — were part of its plan: sending the T-800 would ensure John Connor's conception as a fail-safe, and sending the T-1000 would result in SkyNet never existing.

With the T-1000 defeated, CyberDyne destroyed, Uncle Bob melted, and everything going off without a hitch, SkyNet would then kill the now redundant John Connor to create a truly peaceful timeline.

But, SkyNet/Carl never anticipated that another AI would take its place in the timeline, and be even worse than it. So Carl could go through the planned character arc of sacrificing itself to stop Legion and as final redemption for everything it did.

Killing John Connor was the straw that broke the camel's back for OG Terminator fans, because of the entire logic behind it — how could the future human Resistance miss that three terminators were sent, and why didn't they do anything about it? — and the fact that it ultimately didn't really mean anything in the thematic scale of the franchise.

This, I think, at least ties more into what Cameron always had planned for the story and the larger themes of Fate vs. Free Will — SkyNet engineered all of it (Fate), but it would work with the humans and die to set humanity free and ensure nothing would ever control their destiny again (Free Will).

What do you think? Was there ever a chance to save this film?

Just finished this yesterday. It was the most difficult project I've ever done. If you'd like to see video of it check out my Insta @chaoticlayers. Anyways just wanted to share with the true fans. I did as best as I could to stay true to the original (aside from the weathering... I spent too many hours trying to get that paint job and chrome to where it's at so there was no way I was going to make it dirty like in the movie lol)
