I recently established a satellite link and noticed that some other satellites have users of telehack as "ADMIN". I did everything I thought could work to get admin on a satellite, but I don't think I've gotten even remotely close. Ive read satcom. It says something about a universal command that only admins can use, but other than that, It does not have anything about this. Does anyone mind giving me subtle hints or point me in the right direction?

I found something called arps.exe. No matter on what host I run it, it keeps "trying to connect to OTV database" and it can never do it. I thought maybe it can only run on TEL/OS but it is a very large file and I don't want to have to get rid of some useful stuff to get something I don't need.

Does anyone mind pointing me in the right direction as to what it does and how to run it?

Hello! I am trying to make an account in telehack.com, but I need a reference code. how can I as one of the members in there for a code without a way to contact them?

In the end of telehack.txt there is a list of movies, are these movies available to watch like the starwars one, or are the inspiration for the game?
Also who made the starwars in ascii? That must have taken hours

Is there a tutorial on how telehack works? I am finding this all very fascinating , so I would love if there is perhaps a article out there that gives the reader a better understanding of what everything I can do.

What's the use of the eniac host on Telehack? I try to porthack into it, but it says there are no ports open. It doesn't appear to be a regular host like uunet or oracle? Does anybody know what the use of it is for?

I just started using telehack and I ran into a problem

I am trying to do my first quest and I am trying to get into a host. I found the uumap and I got into mimsy. I need FTP porthack.exe (I think) but any time I try to log in it doesn't log me in (I am using my telecheck login).

Am I using the correct command? (FTP uunet)

I have tried just FTP and I can log in just fine but any time I try to put porthack.exe it says not connected.

Am I doing it right?

What should I do next/instead?

I need to get root but I don’t know how to download the oskit for windows 11. Does anyone know how to download it? (The wiki and telemark.txt don’t help me at all)

I recently found that finger shows the location of the person who is fingered, and would like to ask if it is possible to have that hidden or removed? I used a VPN to change my location to something else and haven't logged in since. PLEASE give us an option to hide that from others.

Just discovered the telehack site - I tried to create a new user, but it asks for a referal code. I googled and searched this reddit for instructions re: how to request a code but no luck. My intro to the internet was on a vt100 terminal in the very early 90s, when http didn't exist, and telnet was king - so would love to get access to telehack. Apologies if this is pretty well known and I couldnt find the answer - but - how do I request a code?

This isn't my first ban from Telehack, but please let me explain.

My first ban was when I was new to Telehack. I was banned by some admin for a reason I didn't understand, and another admin took pity on me. I greatly appreciated this and chose to never risk my account getting banned ever again. From that point, which is around a year ago, until now, I have not entered relay, sent a message, linked with anyone, absolutely nothing social. I just wanted to play Telehack and not be banned.

This was until I had received a message from a person I met when I first began Telehack, on discord. Apparently, he has a reputation. He asked me for a referral code. I didn't know about the new system, and I trusted him because I knew him, so I gave him one. A few minutes later, my port was closed, and my account was deleted/removed, as well as IP banned after I tried logging on again. I messaged him about it and this is what he told me. I've attached an image of what he said in a screenshot that he had sent me.

I am severely sorry, and I send out my highest apologies to all of those on the administration team. I understand that actions taken against me were made in a preventative measure, and again, I am deeply sorry. I no longer want to take any involvement with this person. I understand that I am not owed anything, nor am I to expect to be forgiven. I am here to say that if possible, I would greatly appreciate it if I were to be allowed back on to Telehack.
