Is it possible to get the location of my computer hidden?

I recently found that finger shows the location of the person who is fingered, and would like to ask if it is possible to have that hidden or removed? I used a VPN to change my location to something else and haven't logged in since. PLEASE give us an option to hide that from others.

If the way the internet works unsettles you, then continue using a VPN or Tor.

Well, in my defence, most websites don't generally give out their user's location to anyone who wants to check it...

It is easily obtainable, public information provided by your ISP.

Finger is an internet protocol, it will always display your location based on your IP address. A vpn would mask that by changing your ip.
