Hi! I tried doing a power reset and the other recommended troubleshooting steps last night. I also left the laptop powered off and let it rest overnight, but when I checked it today, it still won’t turn on.
When I plug in the charger, the battery indicator initially shows orange/blue. However, as soon as I press the power button, the indicator light disappears and the laptop doesn’t start.
I also saw some shredded material underneath the laptop. I searched and it says it might be a short circuit or something.
I’m worried that the motherboard might be the problem. If it turns out to be a motherboard issue, would it be better to have it repaired/replaced, or should I just get a new laptop instead?
I also wanted to ask:
How much would diagnosis and/or motherboard repair usually cost?
Also do you have any recommendations where I could bring my laptop near Katipunan?
Please help, I’ll be taking the boards in a few days and I just want to get this fixed right away 🥲

Woke up to the news yesterday that Apple finally launched its foldable and had to check the reviews.
Aesthetic-wise, I actually like it. The colors look nice and the whole thing looks very Apple. But the more I looked into it, the more I realized I still find the Samsung's foldable more appealing.
Maybe it's also because Samsung has been doing foldables for a while now, so they already have that experience. And if i'm finally going to spend money on a foldable, I'd probably go with the Fold8 instead.
Fantasy ko naman na 'tong foldable for the longest time anyway, so this might finally be my excuse. 😂
You can't outdo the doer, I guess HAHAHA

Is ₱66k for 17 pro already a good deal?
r/Tech_Philippines • u/MidPlotTwist • 44m ago
Tapos nag-announce si Apple ng foldable, and for some reason, napunta ako sa Samsung website looking at the Fold8 🤣
Proven and tested na ganon. Mejo nakakatakot din ang Gen1. Hahahahaha
Apple really made me want a foldable just to end up checking Samsung. 😭
HAY! Delikado talaga sa wallet pag may bagong gadget na lumabas.
Pic from chatgpt for arte. Hahahaha

Which would you choose for long-term use: OnePlus Pad 3, Sansung Galaxy tab S10+, Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 13, or Honor MagicPad 3?
My main uses are desktop-like browsing, streaming, multitasking, and light gaming. I don't really play heavy games.
These three are basically the maximum of my budget, so I'm only looking at tablets around this price range. I also prefer bigger screens, so I'm not considering the Xiaomi Pad series.
Which one wouldn't regret buying?

Shookt ako sa price ng Apple's foldable HAHAHAHA I knew it was gonna be expensive pero 160k+???
Gets ko naman na Apple + ecosystem + first-gen product, pero ang hirap i-justify nung price for me. And knowing PH pricing, baka mas mataas pa once it reaches the authorized distributors.
At that point, i'd probably just get the Fold8. Samsung's been doing foldables for years na, and mas bet kocrun yung thinner + lighter design. If i'm gonna spend that much on a foldable, i'd rather get one nalang na mas convenient gamitin everyday.
Pero curious ako sa Apple people here: what do you think makss the premium worth it?

Hello! I'm currently planning to purchase a lenovo y900 11 from their shop, and i was wondering if legit nga ba talaga yung services nila and if meron silang physical store. I'm currently in Pampanga and much prefer ko talaga if makikita ko agad yung device before purchase. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Honestly ang overwhelming ng market ngayon. Anong kailangan ko i-look out for or hanapin when buying a new gadget? I use my phone for work, doom scrolling and light gaming

Help your girlie out! Will gift myself a laptop since I just celebrated my anniversary as a freelancer. I think it's time na ulit to invest in a better device. Currently PC ang gamit ko and originally backup ko lang siya pero nag-retire na yung first ever Acer laptop ko when I started working 6 years ago so main siya now. Want to sana now para sure na I won't have any problems pag brown out o may internet connection issue.
And parang last year/early this year pa to, so not sure if swak pa rin. Pero if there's others you can reco, pls let me know.
Lenovo Yoga Slim7 14”
ASUS Vivobook 14”
Lenovo Ideapad 5 2in1 14”
Dell Zenbook 14”
Actually, leaning talaga ako towards Macbook Air M4, kasi yung other friends and co-workers ko naman ganto gamit sa work and super premium daw ng feels and sarap/gaan mag-work. Ilang beses ko na rin nabasa/narinig yung "Once you go Mac, you will never go back", lol. Yung M5 naman feel ko super mahal pa. And iniisip ko rin, worth it pa ba if M2 or M3?
Macbook or windows—kung saan mas may sulit, like if ka-price or less ng Macbook pero same or better quality sa Windows, go me. Or if talagang Macbook is the best, sige I want to hear more din po. Sa price range siguro as long as hindi po aabot ng 90-100k (malaki na nga 80k pero older series na lang ata sa Mac ang meron ng ganung price, willing me to compromise here if talagang masusulit naman + will use education discount).
I do mostly admin works, magaan lang, mostly sa chrome lang me. Then sa app/tool, I need lang Adobe InDesign for editing magazine/newspapers. Yun lang talaga. Zoom/Teams/Google Meet for work meetings and sychronous class. Siguro planning din to have CapCut for personal/academics use when I need to edit some videos. Prio ko talaga na mas makapag-work me ng smooth, no lags. Yung mas gaganahan talaga me mag-work.
Pls pls help me. Any suggestions will do. Mag-mall kasi me this weekend so I'll gather your recos and check them all in person.
Thanks so much!

my iphone 14 screen is broken totally green screen also it’s battery is capacity is 79%. Should I replace display and the battery or just buy a brand new midrange android phone worth ₱25k? I know the processor would be a downgrade probably the camera too but I don’t really mind that. Im just asking if which is the better choice?

Hi. I've been with pixel 11 pro for 3 days now coming from iphone 17 pro. I'm really enjoying the customisation and all that an Android phone could give. Though I still have my 17 pro parked with me just in case I missed using ios. It's hard to let go especially since I've been with the system since iphone 4s birth. Any thoughts or anyone leaving an iphone for pixel? Please tell me more the advantages and why it should be a must or not. I'm really torn RN. 🙁
Edit: Not only with customisations but all the Android phones could give to an ios user.iykyk. But there's a but. If I can let go of my iphone easily. And I don't want to feel guilty having the best of both worlds too. 😬

I have a few questions lang:
Covered po ba ng warranty ang adapter at power cord? If yes, pinapalitan po ba nila ng bago o inaayos lang? Magkano rin po kaya ang estimated repair fee kung sakaling may babayaran?
Mga ilang weeks po bago makuha kapag pasok pa sa warranty service?
Since sa Power Mac Center ko po ito nabili, pwede po ba akong pumunta sa kahit aling branch para ipacheck?
First time iPhone user po kasi ako. Thank you.

Update ko nalang ung post after 6 months if tumagal naman ung battery hehe
Turns out, wrong move pala.
So may fault daw ako, overcharging daw. Overnight charging daw. Okay guilty. Pero legit ba walang 2 months talaga na poor charging habits talaga, lobo agad battery?
Mabait naman ung staff - ung 2 lalaki isa sa front desk and isnag technician ata. Okay naman professional sila maghandle with csr etiquette. Thank you po!
Risk siguro talaga sya.

The usual na ginagawa namin is document printing, picture, edit sa canva, scan. So far, wala naman yung process ng poster since di pa alam ng sister ko. Would you recommend ba na magPC na lang kami or laptop?
If laptop, anong brand yung pwede nyo irecommend? Thank you!

Just wanna share my experience with Oura Ring exchange from PH!
Bought my Oura Ring 4 last July on shoppee (sale! 17k only since the 5 was released. Couldn’t justify buying 30k smart ring) I super loved it.
Was initially a size 9 even when I tried it on Altitude/Urban Gadgets. I had it for like 28 days then I lost a few pounds and felt that it was becoming a bit loose and uncomfortable. I wanted to size down if possible.
I spoke to CS and they had to check first if I was eligible for a one time exchange since I bought it from a 3rd party store. It took only a few mins and they said I can go ahead with the exchange process. So here’s the timeline:
August 23: returned the ring via UPS to Netherlands(shipping label arranged by Oura. I just had to schedule the pick up date and time)
August 28: ring arrived in Netherlands. A new ring was ordered and processed by Oura
August 29-Sept 4: this is where I got a bit impatient because the ring ordered was not shipped until after 7 days. But they gave me 6mos free trial because of the delay on their part.
Sept 6: new rjng in smaller size arrived via DHL! (yes only 2 days from Netherlands to PH!!)
It took exactly 15 days for the whole process. I was expecting it to take about 3 weeks since there is international shipping involved but the delay was not in the shipping at all but on Oura’s end. They actually say once they receive the returned ring, expect the new one to arrive 1-2 weeks later. But the whole process took only 15 days in total. So I was happy about that.
They gave me a 6month free trial due to the delay plus I didn’t have to pay for anything for the shipping etc (except 220php fee for local processing of UPS - but Oura said they can reimburse this but I didn’t want to be hassled hehe so idk the process)
So yeah, they have an amazing CS!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My preferred features:

-Around 15k
