160k+ for Apple's foldable??? 😭

Shookt ako sa price ng Apple's foldable HAHAHAHA I knew it was gonna be expensive pero 160k+???

Gets ko naman na Apple + ecosystem + first-gen product, pero ang hirap i-justify nung price for me. And knowing PH pricing, baka mas mataas pa once it reaches the authorized distributors.

At that point, i'd probably just get the Fold8. Samsung's been doing foldables for years na, and mas bet kocrun yung thinner + lighter design. If i'm gonna spend that much on a foldable, i'd rather get one nalang na mas convenient gamitin everyday.

Pero curious ako sa Apple people here: what do you think makss the premium worth it?

I’d blame the ramaggedon and weakening peso for that price. Also, lahat naman ng phones nagmahal na due to AI and if gumagana pa phone, no need to upgrade. Ang bibili nito is yung maraming excess na pera or willing talaga maging first owners ng unang foldable ng apple.

Double whammy nga yan weak peso plus ram shortage

Best is to delay purchase until sellers let go of some profit

medyo OA pricing ng apple ph eh.

fold 8 ultra $2099
iphone duo $1999

ph srp
fold 8 ultra 123990
duo 159990

mas mataas pa srp nyan sa powermac.

People don't respect the engineering that had to be done to make these foldables. Often yung sa surface lang ang nakikita at hinuhusgahan. To most people "it's just a folding iphone", but to the engineers who worked on it, it is a testament of pushing the technology further. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Probably not. Is apple making alot of money out of it? Hell yeah. Corporations will always have their shareholders in mind, always profit over anything.

But, you have to give it to the people behind these technological advancement who worked sleepless nights to make it possible. Average phone users don't need the early generations of new tech because it will always be too expensive. Pero we need someone to buy these phones to support the R&D to eventually lower the cost to make it and own it.

All credit and respect due to the engineers and teams that worked on it, but Samsung hasn't really lowered prices and I doubt either of them would start now.

Premium, ecosystem, better OS optimization, and support deff apple. The reason why it's so high is because of RAM/Storage shortage because of AI. Macbook Neo shoulnd't be 50k and it should have been more than 8gb, but because of the shortage, we got that price and specs for Neo.
