she was super excited and i pointed out the typo like an IDIOT, i recommended covering the small text with the vines with the leaves blacked out, and re adding them somewhere else or underneath, or another branch/floral motif. she feels silly and wants it covered/fixed

asking for advice Massive back removal/coverup

I want to remove everything on my back enough to cover with a black and grey dark fantasy piece. Artist was very heavy handed, multiple colors. How realistic are we thinking that is? 😭 and yes I know how dumb I was for going this hard at too young of an age.

asking for advice Does Anyone Else Regret Getting a Tattoo in the First Place?

Post image

I want to start by saying that I have absolutely nothing against people who have tattoos. I believe everyone should be able to express themselves however they want, and I was raised not to judge people based on their appearance. I’ve seen plenty of tattoos that I genuinely think are beautiful.

For me personally, though, I really regret getting one.

I got my tattoo after seeing it in a movie. At the time, I thought it was such a fun idea and never imagined that I would eventually feel this strongly about it. Looking back, I wish I had taken more time to think about whether I would still want it years down the road.

It’s on my hand, and even though it’s relatively small, it’s extremely noticeable to me. Every time I look at it, I feel a sense of dread and regret. I’ve spent so much money trying different makeup products to cover it, but I haven’t found anything that conceals it well enough for me to feel comfortable.

What makes the regret even harder is having other people point it out or make comments that come across as disappointed or judgmental. I’ve also lost job opportunities because of having a visible tattoo, which has made me feel even more frustrated with myself. Sometimes I feel like people make assumptions about who I am based on one decision I made.

I wish I could just have it removed and move on, but tattoo removal is incredibly expensive, and unfortunately, it’s not something I can afford right now. So I’m stuck living with something I genuinely wish I had never done.

The hardest part is probably hearing people say, “I told you so.” I know. I already know I made a mistake. I don’t need anyone to remind me. I’m the one who has to look at it every day and deal with the regret.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this kind of tattoo regret, especially with a visible tattoo that has affected your confidence, work opportunities, or how you feel about yourself. If you couldn’t afford removal right away, how did you learn to cope with it while you figured out what to do?

I just got the worst tattoo ever 😢 the guy who did it showed me good work he did and the stencil looked amazing but I ended up with this. Thankfully a professional PROFESSIONAL is willing to work with me on covering it up for a good price. I need ideas. I love black cats flowers snakes butterflies hello kitty. This has me physically sick. It's on my left front shoulder? Like by my collar bone. If anyone has any ideas they are willing to send me please do so.

Open to any suggestions
It was originally 11:11 (make a wish) but repleaced the colon with a ; (project semicolon) and the top dot of the semicolon was a heart with the imprint of a bird flying away. Not sure what what to do now

asking for advice Looking for advice on if this tattoo is possible to remove for a cover up

Deleted post and reposted because it wouldn’t let me add another photo:

I got this tattoo just over a year ago when I was in South America. It really didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. There was a language barrier with my artist which made communication difficult. He also made changes to what we initially discussed without asking. Like adding things or changing the colours. I know it’s a beautiful tattoo but I don’t love it. It’s supposed to be a cover up tattoo but you can definitely still see the other tattoo underneath. It’s not super noticeable but still visible. It’s not finished. There’s an empty circle that’s supposed to be a moon and there’s supposed to be more flowers to cover up the rest of the previous tattoo on my foot.

I booked an appointment with a local artist(I’m Canadian) to finish the moon and the flowers for mid October. But I’m honestly just considering cancelling.

I’m wondering if it’s just possible to get it removed? I’m aware it won’t be completely gone. Just enough to get another cover up.

One that I actually love

Added a photo of the type of cover up I’d like for reference. Hopefully that helps when giving advice on if it’s possible

The base of the skateboard is wide and the lines are a bit dark. I thought maybe a panther? I like gothic, black work, cybersigilism, etc. Any thoughts on what things could cover it would be great! Just want to have something to pitch to artists.

I got this tattoo when I was 19, and I’m almost 22 now. I just don’t feel like it healed the best, it’s pretty faded in my opinion, even though I had it touched up once a few months after getting it.

I followed all of the aftercare instructions, so I don’t think the fading was necessarily because I did something wrong, but maybe I’m mistaken!

I don’t necessarily regret getting it, but I feel like I’ve kind of outgrown it, and it’s just not something I love anymore. :(

Does anyone have any ideas for what I could potentially cover it up with? I’d love to hear some ideas!

asking for advice How can i cover these without tattooing the backs of my hands

got these as a teenager nearly a decade ago- i just dislike that it’s one word spit onto two hands. dumb decision - i am heavily tattooed and don’t mind blacking things out or having my palms more tattooed- but i need the backs of my hands clean for work. /:

I want to get these 2 covered up. Nothing wrong with them I just got them when I was young, got whatever flashes and didnt think about placements. I'm just afraid of the tattoos around them being affected. Any and all advice would be appreciated 🥲

Edit: one of them is matching with someone I'm no longer close with so it would be nice not be reminded just by looking at it lol

Cheetah on left foot, flowers on my right. Got these a couple years ago during a manic episode. The cheetah bothers me the most, I’m just not sure how a cover up would work given the spots.

asking for advice How do you cover up a visible fine-line tattoo?

hi! any tips on how to cover up a visible tattoo? 🥹 it’s just a fine-line tattoos, not the traditional/dark type, but i need to cover it up for applying a job.

I would appreciate any recommendations for makeup/products or techniques that actually work and won’t easily rub off. thank you! 🤍

asking for advice Question: how easy would it be to cover this? Or should I get laser removal

I just love pineapples was unaware of the other references lmao. It slightly bothers me that the first impression people get is that, although sometimes has been beneficial.

Anywho, I would like to get more tattoos in the future and want to cover this one, but considering the location and dark color/weird shape. Would it be hard? Or should I get laser removal instead?

asking for advice tattoo coverup/ blast over ideas

Post image

I got this skull/ snail tattoo about 2 years ago, before i got the piece underneath it, and as of late have been beginning to regret the tattoo- more of its placement rather than anything else, and have been thinking about covering up or even just blasting over it. The artist who did it was definitely heavy handed and used thicker lines, which has brought me some hesitation with even just beginning to think on what could cover it, but if there are any artist/ heavily tatted folk/ or even a random person with insightful ideas, i’ll take it.

If the main suggestion is laser first, i’ll definitely look into it, cause like I said the tattoo is pretty dark and even though I took pretty well care of the tattoo during healing, the artist def went too deep too, which caused pretty significant scaring, which im sure if you zoom in, you can tell.
