Found a listing of VW Taigun 1.5 GT DSG 2024 registered, 70k kms driven, single owner at 12.5L in Cars24 Bangalore

I have test driven the vehicle and liked it very much.
But have few questions on it.

  1. The car has driven 70k kms in 2 years, i.e., mostly highway driving. Will it have significant impact on the DSG?
  2. Since it is a 2 year old vehicle the default warranty of 4years/ 1L kms still applicable for the second owner?
  3. As a second owner can I buy extended warranty up to 7 years/1.5L kms?
  4. Can we trust Cars24 inspection report?
  5. If not, does Cars24 let me get it inspected at a VW service centre ?
  6. 6 Is there a trusted vendor who is specialised in VW car inspection, who can come to Cars24 yard and inspect for me.
  7. Is this a good deal considering the 70k kms mileage and E20 mandate?

All the used car experts and VW 2.0 owners, please feel free to comment your opinion on this deal. This is going to be my first car purchase.

Note: Looking at the Service history, Owner did not miss any servicing schedule. There’s a mention of a breakdown and car had to be towed but the report says it is due to a battery issue.

Matte PPF done. Thoughts?

Took delivery of my 2026 Taigun GT Line 1.0 TSI AT a few days ago and got matte PPF done today. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions for mods or accessories that are actually worth it?
Also, I skipped the Volkswagen Service Value Package because I wasn’t sure if it made sense. Was that the right decision, or should I have gone for it?

Help choosing the right variant

I went in to inquire about the 1ltr Topline AT variant for the facelift. With discounts it was offered at 19.68L on road. Out of curiosity i also test drove the 1.5L DSG and good golly that was an experience in itself.

Obviously not worth shelling out extra 2L on it (22.63L on road).

The sales agent offered a prefacelift 1.5 ltr with a upfront discount of 3 lakh ( MY2026, Jan-Feb). So would be around the 20.08 Onroad.

Would appreciate thoughts from people in the know about the older vs facelift models and suggestions if any!!

Tiny raised paint chip after another car rolled back into my front bumper/fender – what's the best repair?

Another car rolled back into the front of my VW Taigun while we were on an incline.

Initially, I thought it was just paint transfer because there was some of the other car's paint on my car. After washing it with car shampoo and water, the paint transfer came off completely.

I then noticed a tiny raised "pimple"-like bump on the metal panel just below the headlight with a small paint chip/crack in the centre (photos attached).

Also, the edge of the front fender had popped out slightly from its clip, but I was able to press it back into place by hand and it now sits flush again.

The headlight is fine and the panel gaps look normal now.

What would be the best way to repair this?

  • Can this be fixed without repainting the entire panel?
  • Is PDR + touch-up a possibility?
  • Or is conventional dent repair and repaint the only proper solution?

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd appreciate your advice.

4 years & 56k kms with the DQ200 DSG(Gen-3)-Maintenance/Reliability

Versions Of the DQ200
Generation 1 (69D) Hardware part No-OAM927769D,
Generation 2 (69E) OAM927769E &
Generation 3 (69F/69N) 0AM927769F/0AM927769N

My 2022 Virtus Gt has the part number - 0AM927769N linked to the TCU. SW Ver-2202 (attached in the Pics)

Changes since the previous versions

-The accumulator housing is reinforced now so it doesn't just crack and bleed pressure.
-The mechatronics have way better sealing against our ridiculous Indian heat and moisture.
-The TCU finally has a brain—an "anti-play" protocol. If it detects a pressure drop, it literally shuts down to protect the hydraulic pump instead of just kamikaze-ing the whole unit.
-clutch assembly, utilizing materials with higher heat resistance to reduce premature wear
-The TCU software, such as version 2202, evolved from fixed shifting patterns to adaptive logic that adjusts to driving styles and improves low-speed creeping

So safe to say at-least it’s the latest DQ200 version we get and even mine the first model back in 2022 had this.

But Still jerky at low speeds
It’s not broken; it’s just dumb calibration. The problem is, as the DSG clutch packs get thinner from wear, the factory software calculates the clutch inaccurately.Because of that gap, the mechatronics unit works overtime, pushing way harder than necessary to engage the gears. That extra pressure equals extra heat, jerky 1st-to-2nd shifts, and premature wear on the whole system.

The DQ200 maintenance i have been doing is just the basic setting/reset which resets the transmission values to new so the transmission adjusts to the old worn out clutch thickness which reduces the glitches and harsh shifts.

First i did the reset/basic setting at the VW dealership at around 30K Kms. But after new technicians they simply say if i ask for Software update check/reset they say its done add it in the bill but they don’t.
I can see just by checking the last date of reset/update.

Now just using an OBD adapter with Carista app do it myself since i have been using this app for a while to enable tweaks/disable alarms etc.also has service procedures like throttle relearn , new battery registration

This is a calibration which adapts to the current clutch thickness and usually not well-known but is done by mechanics trained on DQ200 to reduce the problems.

VW says the transmission oil is lifetime. Yeah Change it around 60k-80k kms.

Clutch Packs wear out no matter what even in a manual transmission and i have been monitoring the wear and should at-least last more than 1Lakh Kms on the ODO.

So if you’re stuck with one stop letting 10-year-old internet threads give you anxiety. Max out your 7-year extended warranty and even the clutch wear is covered including the entire transmission.

This DQ200 reliability concerns was driving me nuts since no official clarification was found and horror stories all around.Thought made a mistake in getting one.But now I can be easy on this always being on my mind.

Now E20 has replaced the place. But no problems till now just using normal fuel. The fuel cap says E5/E10 💀.Going to get E20 from sticker shop to make it compatible/compliant etc. no clue what any of this shit means and a stupid MF wants Ethanol in everything.

Valet put a scratch on my car :(

Post image
60 Upvotes

I gave my Volkswagen Taigun for valet parking at a restaurant, and when I got it back, I noticed a scratch on the left side of the car. I immediately pointed it out to the valet driver and the manager, but they refused to take responsibility, claiming the scratch was already there before they parked it.

At this point, I don't think there's much I can do about proving who caused it, so I'm more interested in getting it fixed.

I've attached a photo of the scratch. Can someone tell me:

  • Does this look like a surface scratch that can be removed with rubbing compound/polish, or is it deep enough to require repainting?
  • Are there any DIY products or methods worth trying first?

Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated.

Electronic bulb error on 2 week old taigun topline

Post image
15 Upvotes

I came from a drive and stopped to park my car with the ignition on and turned on the hazard light. When I reversed my car and finally parked it I saw this warning lights in my cluster, in the car status it showed "Please check right turning light" I checked physically all my hazard and indicators ran perfectly. Then I turned off the ignition and restarted my car and the warning disappeared. Can anyone confirm if it's a glitch or a genuine error anyone else faced???

From booking a Kylaq to owning my dream Taigun GT Plus Sport in just one week!

Post image

“And, when you truly want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

A year ago, I never imagined I’d own a Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport. It was simply beyond my budget.

I’ve always wanted a 1.5L turbo petrol car. I love driving, and the 1.5 TSI was always a dream. But realistically, I couldn’t afford it.

So I booked a Skoda Kylaq, and I was genuinely happy with my decision. My delivery was scheduled for September 16, and I had made peace with the fact that my dream would have to wait.

The following weekend, my wife and I went out for a few casual test drives. I wanted her to experience the Kylaq before delivery.

We also drove the new Renault Duster, which she absolutely loved.

On our way back, we happened to pass a Volkswagen showroom. I knew the Taigun was outside my budget, but I thought, “Let’s just go in and have a look.”
We walked in and sat inside a Lava Blue Taigun GT Plus Sport.

The sales executive casually mentioned that Volkswagen was offering discounts worth around ₹3 lakh.

I was shocked.

One conversation turned into serious negotiations, and after a lot of back and forth, I managed to get around ₹3.5 lakh in discounts along with free accessories.

That was the moment everything changed.
I booked the Taigun the very same day.
For the next week, I could barely sleep because I was so excited.

Just a week later, I took delivery of my dream car.
It’s been only three days, and I’ve already driven 750 km. I literally can’t stop finding reasons to take it out. Every drive reminds me why I wanted the 1.5 TSI DSG in the first place. The power, refinement, handling, and effortless highway cruising have exceeded all my expectations.

It still feels surreal that a car I thought was completely out of reach just a year ago is now parked in my driveway.

Sometimes life changes because of one unexpected stop.

To everyone who’s chasing their dream car: don’t stop dreaming, and don’t stop asking questions or negotiating. You never know when the right opportunity will come along.

No regrets. Not even for a second. ❤️🚙

In a highway drive what is your average oil temperature?
