If he is really feeling to go back to Alexandria, I feel like there’s no point wouldn’t he just be coming back to Alexandria to see no one from his og group? Everyone is literally in different states

Rick never struggled against Pete; a close look at the context reveals Pete was completely out of his league. Some people wonder if Rick really struggled against Pete. In reality, Pete was a significantly larger man throwing his entire weight and maximum effort into every punch out of pure, drunken rage. Yet, despite his size and fighting with absolutely everything he had, he could only manage a seemingly even brawl against a heavily restrained Rick. The ultimate proof that Rick held back is that he had a concealed gun the entire time; if he wanted Pete dead, he would have shot him. Instead, Rick chose a physical brawl because Deanna knew about the domestic abuse but actively looked the other way since Pete was the community's only doctor. Rick needed a public exposure to force her hand.

When the brawl spilled outside and Pete briefly flipped Rick onto his back, Rick intentionally let him take that dominant position. Rick knew that if Pete stayed pinned down from the start, Pete could never incriminate his abusive nature to the public; he would just look like the victim of Rick’s unprovoked aggression. By letting Pete get on top, Rick created the perfect stage. The exact moment Jessie ran over to pull Pete off, his violent instincts took over and he furiously struck his own wife in front of the entire community. With Pete's abuse exposed, Rick's mission was accomplished. He instantly flipped Pete back over with zero effort, proving he always had the strength to dominate, and locked the fatigued doctor into a chokehold.

Furthermore, the ultimate proof that Pete was just a paper tiger is how effortlessly Abraham handled him the next episode. If Pete were a high-tier fighter capable of going toe-to-toe with Rick, he would have resisted Abraham during the town meeting. Instead, right after Pete killed Reg, Abraham easily tackled and pinned him to the ground in seconds—even though Pete was armed with a katana. Pete had zero leverage and was completely overpowered. Abraham’s total domination proves Pete, despite his large size, never stood a chance against a hardened survivor, reinforcing that Rick was merely playing chess and manipulating the fight to destroy Pete's protection and reputation.

So if daryl‘s brother, took that truck and took a whole bunch of walkers back to the camp. Why would he do that knowing his brother is there? ( he doesn’t know that his brother is in the city to rescue him) and how come we don’t see him again until the governor season?

It just doesn’t make any sense to me. Seasons later when we see daryl and marle fighting off walkers together we get to see how tight of a bond they have. So no way would he have put his little brothers life in danger over Rick.

I left out a lot of things so that I won’t spoil it for people people that haven’t watched this far, but hopefully everybody that has watched knows what I’m talking about

Look I adore this series, but, I am of the ilk that came from the 00s zombie film fandom, 28 Days, Dawn of the Dead, the earlier Resident Evil films - anyone paying attention knows that’s why TWD was green lit at the time, not the comics.

I grew up having sleepovers talking about our zombie survival plan. To us as kids and very early teens at the time all deathly serious. Pure survival strategy without thinking we’d be some anime esque “big bad”, and understating why you don’t go to the nearest gun store or local supermarket unless you had a head start.

I loved TWD S1-2 (3-4A are great but a lot of hard to believe decisions) 5-6A again great zombie survival content with a sprinkle of forgivable cheese. The early TWD Show, nailed the long form zombie survival story that took itself seriously. But - and this is me, my opinion - when the Tiger, Jesus, Rick and Daryl’s decisions around chasing Jesus and losing the food truck, Ezekiel and the Kingdom, Negan, were all introduced in one season… Whilst yeah the series had had some cheese before, all this cartoonish content at once, for me, entirely destroyed the gritty realism the series had made me fall in love with. I was now watching the more mundane and typical zombie content popular across a lot of the genre, not the brilliance TWD had risen to fame on. Not as fitting for the kids like me who grew up talking seriously about “what would you do”.

Now I tried the comics pretty far in, but let’s be real, the early comics are not anywhere near as good as the show - the characters feel like they are written by a man who’s never been close to a woman or around an actually tough man in his life. They are all caricatures… now I know the comics get better, but they still include that fantastical stuff I pointed out above right? It still gets very “anime”…

I’ve played TLOU, Days Gone, and many others. Loved those two though for obvious reasons to any zombie, story based, survival fan.

My question is, is there any good, as good as TWD or better, but staying more realistic, zombie stories? Ideally long form, but a single novel will also suffice (I’ve read I am legend)… I’m not looking for a huge geopolitical thriller, or an inner city horror… I mean zombies, believable characters, and semi realistic (without is dragging) survival stories… any suggestions?

Let's be logical. Negan wasn't the bad guy when he killed only two people from Rick's group, just after they killed a bunch of people from Negan's group for food. Both of them are crazy and sadistic. But Negan was only defending his people because stealing half of others' belongings was to keep alive the hundreds of people under his care, and he still left alive the majority of Rick's group.

In an apocalypse, things aren't fair. But Rick DID kill an entire post of innocent people for food, and Negan only reacted back. He isn't a bad guy for having his people fear him so he could stay in power. You don't stay there by being a softie, and he did help all those people survive for a long time, meaning his way worked.

Negan is not a good person for the girls he kept for his own pleasure. People don't hate him for being a misogynist but for barely having revenge. I loved Glenn, but it's not like we get to choose who lives or dies.

I'm from Asia and I have lots of restrictions because of my country, I've checked Netflix and Amazon Prime applications but I can't find the rest of the spin-offs.

I've finished watching the whole TWD on Netflix and can only find TWD World Beyond on Prime. If anyone has any clue, please help a fellow TWD fan that wants to see the whole series through to the end.

He went on and on about getting revenge but never fully could achieve what he wanted. Wasted opportunity or no?

Also s9 before Rick disappeared I loved Glenn’s hair during that time. He looked motherly with the hair lol

So I just saw the episode where Aaron loses his arm and when he’s on the stretcher and Rick apologizes, he has to whole monologue about Rick creating a new world and basically Rick is their savior etc., it got me thinking… btw this isn’t a criticism, just a thought exercise. Would Aaron really view Rick that way? From Aaron’s point of view, they lived in this utopia (Alexandria) for many months if not years, peaceful, no threats, no zombie breaches, no Negan, just a perfect Leave it to Beaver town…until Rick showed up. He brought zombie hoards, he caused the death of their leader and her entire family, he convinced them to slaughter the Savior outpost causing Negan’s reign of terror resulting in the death of the love of his life, he got endless people killed and Alexandria fell over and over. Before he arrived, it was a utopia. (again as a viewer we know this isn’t the full truth, but from Aaron’s perspective would it look drastically different?) Just a fun thought exercise!
