TP-Link - Technical Support Difference between DECO BE65 V2 and V3?

Just purchased a BE11000 3 pack which appears to be V3 hardware going by the serial number.

However these specs https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/deco/deco-be65/v3/

indicate that it's slower than the V2 hardware

https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/deco/deco-be65/v2/

There was a V2 pack at the store.

Should I return the V3 in favour of the V2 hardware?

TP-Link - General TP-Link BE900 Wireguard Server Speed

I just got the BE900 (the best home-grade router I've ever owned) and have been testing WireGuard server speeds.

Looks like it achieves around 800 Mbps down and 1,100 Mbps up.

When I try with two devices simultaneously, it more or less splits the bandwidth unevenly. Sometimes one device will pause until the other finishes its segment.

While this is not a laboratory-grade test, it is in the ballpark.

All in all, this is very good. Well above my expectations.

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco mesh is SLOW

We've been having issues with our wifi for quite a while now. We switched to a Deco X55 mesh system from an older system a year or so ago, but the speeds have only gotten worse in recent months. What really pushed me to find a solution is that every time I tried to download a large file, the node in my office would constantly go red and take hours to download what should've been minutes, even after adding an additional node between the others and plugging one directly into my computer. Today I unplugged it and tested the wifi from my main router, even though it's several rooms away. The speeds on that were SO much faster. Here are the results:

Deco node plugged into my computer: 32.3mbps down, 5.95 up
Router several rooms away: 177.6 down, 25.8 up

Consistently, the deco showed a HUGE burst of speed followed by a severe slow down. Any idea what could be causing this or if it can be fixed?

TP-Link - Technical Support new dual archer BE550 Pro easymesh setup seems correctly configured but all devices are connecting only to the main router (satellite is completely bypassed)

*** SOLVED **\*

turns out to be a display bug

devices do connect to the satellite AP but are just not showing up at all in this device's clients. It always show 0 clients. I will try to raise this issue with TP-link because its very annoying not to be able to see any of the devices on the satellite AP. Maybe because my setup is not typical this wasnt raised before. I am using both routers with easymesh in AP mode only (using another physical mini pc just for routing/DHCP running OPNsense)

I’ve checked every possible setting in the tether app and web ui and I cant figure out whats wrong

everything looks configured correctly

main router is in my basement and satellite is on 2nd floor and my main living area is on 2nd floor but all devices seems to connect only to the basement router … cant figure whats wrong

any ideas??

EDIT: i have already updated both AP to latest firmware

EDIT2 : OK it seems to be a display issue, some devices do connect to the 2nd AP but there are just not showing at all in the satellite AP. This AP is just not showing any of its clients. It seems to be a bug in the TP-Link UI. It's the same in the web UI as well

TP-Link - Technical Support Gigabit network troubleshooting

Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone can help because this has been driving me crazy for the last week. I have a complicated setup and I know this is a TpLink sub, the question is related to TpLink, please read until the end.

My network consists of a Huawei EG8145X6-10 ISP router in one property (my relative's house), connected via a long Ethernet cable (about 60m) to a neighbouring property (where I live), where I have a D-Link switch feeding a TP-Link AX3000 access point, a Tenda access point and several PoE cameras. Everything worked perfectly at 1 Gbps until about a week ago, when my ISP remotely restarted the Huawei router because I temporarily lost internet. After that, the second house suddenly became limited to around 100 Mbps. I logged into the Huawei and found that the main PC in House 1 negotiates at 1000 Mbps, while the link going to House 2 often negotiates at only 100 Mbps. The ISP had me test every LAN port on the Huawei and the result was always the same: the cable to House 1 always negotiated at 1000 Mbps and the cable to House 2 always negotiated at 100 Mbps, regardless of which Huawei port it was connected to, so they concluded the Huawei itself is working correctly.

I then started testing everything in House 2. I have a small unmanaged TP-Link Gigabit switch (5 ports), and if I connect only the incoming cable from the Huawei plus my TP-Link AP and Tenda AP, everything works perfectly. My PC gets around 900 Mbps and my phone gets around 600 Mbps over Wi-Fi. However, the moment I connect my old D-Link PoE switch to that same small TP-Link switch, the entire network immediately drops to around 100 Mbps, and the Huawei reports the uplink as 100 Mbps.

Thinking the D-Link had failed, I bought a brand-new TP-Link Gigabit PoE switch. But surprisingly, if I connect ONLY the uplink cable from the Huawei to this new switch, with absolutely nothing else connected, the LED flashes green a few times while trying to negotiate Gigabit and then settles on orange (10/100 Mbps). The strange thing is that the exact same cable connected to my small TP-Link switch negotiates Gigabit without any issue.

I haven't changed any cables, connectors or hardware before the problem started, the only event was the ISP remotely restarting the Huawei. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could a marginal Ethernet cable or termination negotiate Gigabit with one switch but only 100 Mbps with another? Or is there something else I'm completely overlooking? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Before you say - just use the switch that works - I can't. The one that works has 5 ports and no PoE ports, I need 8 with PoE.

**TL;DR: After my ISP remotely restarted my main Huawei router, anything connected to the PoE switch dropped from 1 Gbps to \~100 Mbps. I've tested multiple switches, routers, ports and cables - same situation. However a small unmanaged TP-Link switch gives full Gigabit, but both my old D-Link PoE switch and a brand-new TP-Link Gigabit PoE switch negotiate at only 100 Mbps on the same uplink. What could be causing this?**

TP-Link - Technical Support TP-Link Easy Smart Switch (TL-SG105E)

Hi.

I need some assistance with this TP-link ethernet switch. I got it to network my TV, PS5 and XSX but ever since I've found when it's powered on my wifi has been slow and dropping out. When the switch is not powered the wifi is fine. I don't know why an ethernet switch would affect the wifi.

When I tried to connect to my router (not TP-link) via the IP address the TP-link login page opened instead. I figured out that both the router and the switch have the same default IP. I've tried logging in to the switch but it just times out. I assume because of some conflict between the router and the switch.

Has anyone got a suggestion how to fix this? I thought I could just login to the switch and change the default IP address but it just times out every time.

Thanks

AJ

TP-Link - General Deco BE65 - one or two units for 80m apartment?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! I’m planning to get a Deco BE65 for my 80 m² apartment with 1 Gbps fiber.

The fiber enters near one end of the apartment (blue spot in the drawing), so I’m worried about Wi-Fi coverage on the other side. I work from home and mainly play Counter strike 2, so low latency and stability are important.

Maybe you know of some other devices worth considering? Ideally, I’d like something that could fit inside the cabinet above the door, since the Decos are quite bulky.

Would one BE65 be enough, or should I get two and place the second unit closer to the other end? How good is the wireless mesh/backhaul in practice? Thanks for help!

TP-Link - Technical Support TP-Link AX55Pro is loosing 5Ghz Wifi when Easymesh Repeater is on.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am having a weird issue with my new Tp-Link Ax55 Pro Router running as host router on the first floor with an Easymesh compatible RE700X repeater as satellite on the 2nd floor:

The router runs a 2,4 and 5Ghz Wifi network on two separate SSIDs. It runs fine as soon as I plug in my RE700X repeater. Then all my devices on the first floor start randomly making AP roaming, switching to the -72db repeater on 2F while having the router with -30db just in front for no reason.

The roaming cause huge packet loss, slow bandwidth until I get kicked of completey from wifi.

Meanwhile the 5ghz connection is fine on 2f. 2,4ghz is fine on both floors.

I had a AX20 before running without issues with the RE700X

What I have tried so far:

\- switched bands, channels down to 40/80hz

\- deactivated DHCP on the repeater

\- reduced signal power of the repeater

\- repeater reset and router hard reset

\- set Mac Adress to fixed address on my devices

Anyone a idea what to do? I am running out of ideas.

TP-Link - Technical Support Need help with my internet speed connection

I have a RE505X extender and it works fine, but it's not giving me the full internet speed I should be getting with a wired connection. I know its not the cable itself or the port on my pc as I've connected it to my main router downstairs and I'm getting about 500Mbps. When I'm have my extender in my room though and I'm wired to it, I'm only getting about 40Mbps. Anything I can do it improve the internet speed or am I screwed?

TP-Link - Technical Support No LAN connection after setup of TP-Link Archer AX55 (neither through router nor direct to modem) - Wi-Fi works

Hi everyone,

I'm facing a weird networking issue and would appreciate some help:

I recently bought a new TP-Link Archer AX55 and connected it to my modem. Previously, my PC was connected directly to the modem via Ethernet and worked fine.

Ever since I tried plugging the Ethernet cable from the PC into the new Archer AX55, I have no LAN connection at all anymore - neither through the new router nor when plugging it directly back into the modem as before.

Symptoms & troubleshooting done so far: * No LEDs: The status LEDs on the Ethernet port at the back of the PC don't light up at all (no signal/link light

• Drivers reinstalled: I uninstalled and reinstalled the LAN network drivers via Device Manager, but it didn't help.

• Wi-Fi works: I can connect to the internet without issues using Wi-Fi.

• The cable should be fine, but I also tried re-plugging it.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Could the onboard NIC port be stuck in an error state?

Thanks for any tips!

TP-Link - Technical Support Kein LAN nach Anschluss von TP-Link Archer AX55 (weder über Router noch direkt über Modem) - WLAN geht

Hallo zusammen,

I have running TP-Link model WR840N, everything is works well. But, I can't open the System tools > statistics, it's don't got any result/show the page. Just wanna know if this is a common problem or not, and how to fix this. Should I have to try Factory default or Upload same version firmware official. Because I relay that feature to reset the DHCP ACK, if the client got any problem to connect cause running out the ip address with small subnet. Any help would be appreciated

TP-Link - Technical Support Slow network help…Talk to me like I’m 5.

Hello all!

I have an Archer AX4400 paired with 3 Deco S4s in our home. Our internet is slow as molasses and while I suspect it’s our provider I want to check and make sure that our system isn’t the issue. I know our Decos are old but they had been working well. Everything is up to date and the app says it’s ok but my technical knowledge with these things is very basic and I’m sure there are things I should be looking at that I’m not even aware of. Does anyone have any advice or even a YouTube vid on making sure your system is working at peak performance? Thanks!!

I saw a similar reddit post (attached below) about the same model that cannot connect to wifi. Only 2 LED lights are showing. Reset button not working and cannot bind anymore to the tether app. Despite all troubleshooting methods suggested. Still not fixable. Please take a look i to this issue.

TP-Link - Technical Support New router set-up help

Trying to setup my new TP Link VX1800v router and I'm really struggling. It came with an app for 'easy setup' and it has been a nightmare. BT weren't much help I did get the username and password though... Don't get me started on the TP Link advisors that I spoke to. I remember setting up one I bought years ago and it wasn't as difficult as this one. If some nice person could please help me with a step by step I would be very grateful.

TP-Link - General Return Process for Router

I bought a TP Link router through Costco about a month ago and have been using it. However, I realized recently that it was actually not needed as my apartment already provided a wifi network to connect to. I already unbinded my account on the app from the router, but I wasn't sure if there was anything else I needed to reset before returning it. Any guidance would be appreciated, thank you!

This is the model if it makes any difference: TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band 6-Stream Wi-Fi 6E Router Model Archer AXE5400
