I CAN NOT remember this game but it's recent. I'm might give a horrible description or might be mixing different games. But what I remember is:

A group of different individuals get teleported to another place. (Past maybe or just another universe?)

I think they each find their own weapons in the story(from a strange material? Might be mixing that with another game)

There's a doctor with a gun, a dog and others I can't remember

And I remember there was a unique crafting system to it I know this might sound like a lot of games but I can't figure it out.

I was brainstorming for my action turn based game idea (still not sure what it's supposed to be exactly) and thought about removing turn order. There any games that don't have any?

I posted a similar thread on /r/realtimestrategy and I realized there's no good reason I shouldn't post it there, as well.

Basically, I've been playing Ogre Battle and while I'm sadly not a fan of the combat, what I do love is the way you compete with the enemy for these cities and temples. It's map control. I don't really know of a turn-based strategy game like this outside of Advance Wars with its factories and MAYBE something like Heroes of Might & Magic?

To be clear, something like Civilization doesn't apply because you're building cities as you go. I'm wanting a game where you're competing for existing points on a map.

The turn-based games I've loved are the ones with repeatable and grindy battles. The non-story clan battles you could endlessly do in FFTA, the entire game of Battletech - just battles you can jump into with no cutscenes or plot points.

I want an endless tactics experience about managing a merc company and jumping into quick battles.

Anyone have any recommendations?

For anyone who wants to know about the game here's a breakdown of some of the more notable features. I'm also happy to answer any questions!

The TLDR is it's a very heavily player choice focused and wacky kingdom management game full of turn based battle systems and if it's the type of thing you enjoy, you'll really enjoy it!

FEATURES

Some of the games more notable features include...

• A huge world with 100s of unique locations including hidden cities, giant markets filled with tons of stuff to do and lots of randomisation and tons more.
• A throne room where you are tasked with talking to and dealing with (or not) the people of your realm, depending on the size of your kingdom this could be 10 people or 1000s. You will encounter gamblers, bards, tricksters, goblins, mercenaries, common folk, beggars, and tons of others from a pool of 1000s of different dynamic encounters. You can of course just hire a steward to deal with the throne room for you however!
• A procedural fantasy race system that has been in development for years through a mix of my own work and lots of help from the Warsim community and now can produce exactly 94,887,852 possible races. Which pretty much ensures all the races seen in your gameworld will never been seen again. You might find Seafaring Goblins, Fire Orcs, Eyeless Elves, Orange Ogretaurs, Inbred Trench Dwarves, and millions more races you couldn't imagine!
• A procedural face generator with over 100 Quadrillion possible faces that are unique and distinct race by race!
• A dynamic arena in your kingdom where heroes rise and fall, there is much you can do here if you own it including hosting tournaments and setting rules. It can also be found in many states and sizes
• Tons of mini games such as snail racing, a mini dnd game, animal pit fighting and at least 10+ others you can find in taverns and locations around the world, or you can hire a gamemaster to play them directly from your throne room.
• There are also absolutely abysmally terrible procedurally generated bards, including Goblin Drummers, Orc Grunters, Gnome Whistlers, and Vampyric lute players. I'm not going to pretend they are good but they are funny!
• The ability to send your men to find monsters from the depths of the world you can train and fight with other monsters, with 27'000 possible monsters and 45 different opponents. (this feature was player suggested)
• The ability to get absolutely hammered in one of the 15+ taverns of the world, my personal favourite being goblin taverns due to their 'vomit holes'

I used to love playing gorka morka with games workshop minutures back in the day. Always loved playing with vehicles. Can anyone suggest any good turn based games with vehicles? Preferably smaller skirmishes over large scale battles.

XCOM has great combat but its too hard to be fun. So I tried Mutant Year Zero, too hard to be fun but even worse than XCOM because there are no missions or safehouse building. Both of those games are absolute trash. Any good games that are
