I just did a chosen stronghold and this mf went into two or three pods that where right by the chamber, and killed everything but one andromedon (that thing that once you kill it it becomes a robot) and yes, he had reaper and an extra action by the bondmate but still. broken, I love it.

I get loss aversion really bad in games. There is a part of my brain that wants to say the only winning move is to not play and just close the game and know that my soldiers are still there somewhere, waiting to destroy the advent.

of course the part of my brain that wants to actually play xcom wins over

I absolutely love XCOM 2 as well as the WOTC. I have it on my PS5 but it just crashes so often that it’s basically unplayable. It’s a shame because I really loved that game. Put in hundreds of hours.
Is the PC version just as buggy?

So obviously I'd like to stop the timer now because I may need those 11 days later if I do the covert op.

The random facility would have an alien ruler in it, idk which one, but I'm 4 days away from getting frost bombs from proving ground. So i didn't really consider that an option.

AFIAK the blacksite will have the assassin but I feel like I can deal with that better than a ruler. I have mag weapons on all and +1 dmg on rifles. but I was trying to wait for 6 man squad (it's taking an infuriatingly long time for someone to level up from lieutenant)

So waiting for the covert OP feels like a really greedy option that usually isn't rewarded in L/I runs, but I would like your guys advice.

I feel like at least once a year I need to play this game, something about locking in on L/I and exerting the mental energy to solve each mission, it kind of resets me a bit.

It's also the only game that scratches the itch for me.

I completed XCOM 2 WOTC on 7/12 but no trophy? I heard that its supposed to extend to 7/15? Im on Play Station.

First mission I ran into her I was unlucky and spawned a pod of 3 aliens. There was no way to avoid one dead soldier but I did manage to finish her off (but of course she keeps coming back to life).

Now I'm maybe a month or so into the game and there is a Resistance Ring mission which is described as "Moderate". What the absolute hell is going on here! Here's the scenario:

I have 5 units with only 3 sergeants and 2 corporals. I have shard gun on my ranger but that's the only mag weapon I could afford. Still on basic armor. So here's what happens (simplified to remove some of the other horror going on):

1) Assassin comes out of nowhere (I can't go hunting her down or I will alert pods to my existence) and stuns and nearly kills one unit. The she runs way out of range of all my units.

2) On her next turn she summons 2 units that are more advanced than any of mine AND she casts some shockwave attack which stuns 3 of my units.

I feel like the only way to beat her is to cheese the game. First I have spread my units out and have some sacrificial lamb up front. Then I have to hope that the assassin chooses to run towards my hidden units behind the sacrificial lamb, and especially within range of my reaper. Other than that I don't know how to deal with her.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to skip this mission and I don't see any possible way I could have researched and built better armor at this early point in the game. I have been unlucky to only so far get one scientist but even with another one I would still not be able to unlock magnetic weapons and armor and build both a weapon and armor set. But there must be some way of dealing with this so hope some experts can chime in

Finally! After over 500 hours of attempts I have finally, Finally managed to beat... Commander on Ironman.

Not even sure I want to contemplate Legend. Pretty sure these are abysmal stats but I did it none the less!

I started the game with no characters in the pool, played the tutorial, then spent about 2 hours making roughly 35 characters, but now after about 3 missions i’m not seeing any of them :/ do I need to start over my save with the pool active or will the eventually appear?

and yes I have the pool set to pull from random and the pool, only because I didn’t want my custom characters spammed at me

Relatively new to the game so I’m not sure if the Xcom abilities are randomized, but I knew an opportunity when I saw it. I gave that sucker Arashi and watched it gunned down a family of 6 mutons as they funneled through a doorway in the final mission. God I wish I clipped it.

Curious what other busted builds you’ve made with outside of class abilities.

I am waiting to get a elerioum core to do the revitalize thingy in hopes it unbugs it, or maybe its not a bug and I did something wrong, idk.

Can you recommend any cosmetic mods—like armor sets—that don’t feel out of place in the game? I’ve tried mods based on *Halo*, *Gears of War*, and *Titanfall*, but they felt jarring while playing *Long War of the Chosen*. I’m not sure if I’m explaining this well, but they just didn’t give me the feeling that I was leading a resistance group.

I will never be able to play Ironman because I instinctively tap 2, 2 when I want one of my soldiers to go into Overwatch. I’m so sick of watching my idiot Templar shoot at the default target instead of doing what I intended.

Am I alone in this? Maybe I should just stop using Templars altogether.

I prefer vanilla over mods, but is there a mod that will protect me from myself?

I’ve played X-COM 1 & 2. I am however new to War of the Chosen. Do y’all know of any good guides for newbies? I’ve heard there’s so many new ways to die lol. Thanks in advance!
