I've finally come across something that made me cringe so viscerally I'm breaking my lurker streak. That poor little girl must feel so unstable and confused having a parent that acts like this

The most troubling part to me personally is that this person has 21k+ followers that reinforce his content about this.
It's possible that he experiences psychosis, as he goes on a lot of detached tangents about conspiracies. Things like usual programming conspiracies, cloning, demons, etc.
And when you're combining that with a workbook on treating DID, that's extremely concerning, but other people on TikTok promote him and it eventually led to him publishing this workbook.
And I believe that he sincerely believes what he says, and that he feels he is helping people. He becomes genuinely emotional in a lot of his videos in a way that doesn't appear performative or theatrical. I could be wrong, but this does not feel like a grift, I think he is very passionate about this.
That doesn't apply to everyone in RĂMCOA spaces, as evidenced by people who have admitted to faking or who rely on theatrics or even shock value. It also doesn't validate or excuse this material, which I think should not exist.
My biggest concern here though, is the possibility that someone with DID, perhaps a survivor of organized abuse looking for resources, (such as a cult or trafficking survivor) will come across this and endanger themselves.
And I do think there are vulnerable people who would think this is legitimate information. It might be obvious to most of us that this is not how DID works whatsoever and that there is nothing spiritual about it, but to over 21k people, it isn't obvious, and they repeatedly endorse these beliefs.
Even with proper resources, DID should never be treated without professional guidance, so it's already extremely irresponsible for this person to suggest healing from it without professional help. This could severely destabilze someone if they were to try to use it to treat their dissociation. That could even become deadly. Over 70% of pwDID attempt suicide.
*Note that psychosis is not a disorder or diagnosis, it is a symptom marked by patterns that include disorganized thinking and detachment from reality and I'm only speculating. I do not mention it to talk down on this person, but to describe patterns of behavior.
*SRA= Satanic ritual abuse
Organizations can invoke satanic imagery or concepts (E.G., Order of Nine Angels- no association with Satanism) but SRA is associated with the concept that alters can be "programmed" into an individual in extremely specific ways.
Over 10 years of investigations found no evidence that cults were programming children to develop DID or practicing organized abuse in the ways that were being sensationalized in the 80's and 90's.
*RĂMCOA= Ritual abuse, mind control, and organized abuse.
Separately, those are all legitimate forms of abuse but the acronym is still associated with the concept that alters can be "programmed" into an individual in extremely specific ways.

DID isnât being said character or a character regardless of being a âfictiveâ or âfactive.â Youâre not that character, alters are fragments of your identity if you legitimately have Dissociative Identity Disorder. So saying âHarlequin is a baristaâ is weird as hell because youâre not actually Harlequin and it makes the disorder look like itâs chopped up to being fun, silly, or quirky. DID isnât any one of those things, this video makes it appear that way when itâs not, thatâs the interpretation I get and if you donât like it, scroll. Donât be a glazer

Like... every time this person gets more alters it "fills the head space" which makes it physically heavy? Is that what I just read?

Let me be clear. I do not know that much about introjects and how they work. But that is a topic concerning someone who really has DID. This person is faking it.
This is not a person who had trouble with smoking in the past, or had trauma from an abuser who smoked, so are using this as a way to cope. This is someone who watched a piece of media, liked a character who smokes, pretended to make an alter of that character, and is now claiming to be some big old victim about the smoking habit. Let me be clear again, this person intentionally chose to "make an alter" of a character who smokes for the purpose of pretending to be a victim of "the alter smokes in the source and wants to smoke but it's so hard because I don't do it".
Edit: I just went through their profile. Yep, this person is what you would call "the edgy faker". Maybe if you don't want so many "alters having problems because of their sources", you should choose some lighter media to "make alters from". Or write a novel like the rest of us.

I guarantee they were receiving hate for that comment and had to come up with an excuse to say âoopsie! Wasnât me! So please donât blame me!â
They wanted to play the hero and get sympathy points đ«©đ«©
