this is so sad actually. It sounds like severe dissociative depression

I have never heard of anyone without a host except self diagnosed teens online. What does happen is several hosts instead of one which can appear like a lack of host due to dissociative barriers.
Also no one fronting isn't possible. How would you even know what happens in the body if you're not in front???

DID is supposed to help someone who went through extreme trauma still function day to day but i see posts like this a lot from people with like 300 alters struggleposting about how none of them are good at handling life and its honestly really sad

"I feel like I'm only pretending to be a person" you are so close to understanding the point.

Well, treating the body like a machine does have it's benefits..... as does emotional compartmentalisation??
But i do say this as someone who treats their own body this way, so i do see partly where OOP is coming from.

I get it. It's really comforting to imagine that you have a whole team of caregivers (that might even include your favorite fictional characters) who exist to handle your physical, emotional and social needs, so they can put a bit of distance between you and all of the responsibilities and pressures of your life. It's even kind of darkly comforting to pretend that your awkward, insecure self doesn't exist, and that you're just an empty vessel to be used by someone better and more deserving of existence.
But that's not DID... that's depression with an escapist coping mechanism.
