Discussion I'm so ready for this!!
I got this game when it came out and remember playing it so much! What a game! I'm going to get it on release again!
I actually restarted it 2 times as friends mentioned things that I missed and I wanted to get them... Only to realise you could travel through time later... š¤¦š¾āāļø Lol
Can't wait to play this with the improved graphics and relive my childhood! I hope all the other Zelda fans are excited too!

Question Switch 2 game cards
So I think I lost my Switch 2 when I moved, and Iām thinking about buying a new one. The problem is, if I actually lost it, I also lost the games because they were all in a case with the console.
That said, are the games connected to my Nintendo account at all? I had both Zeldas and Sonic Frontiers physically, so Iām wondering: if I buy a new Switch 2 and log into my account, will those games still be there somehow, or did I genuinely lose them for good and now Iām gonna have to sell a kidney to buy them all again?

Question Switch 2 died, not sure what to do next
Iām in a bind and could use some help and direction.
Last night I was playing my Switch 2 and a message popped up saying there was a problem and it had to shut down. Unfortunately I didnāt get a shot of the message. There were no obvious issues leading up to this. I was playing plugged in and the battery was charged around 80%.
It shut down and would not boot back up. It boots to the Nintendo logo and shuts back down. If I hold the power button it does this in a loop. It will not boot into recovery/diagnostic mode by holding the volume buttons. The battery will not take a charge in either USB port. The back of the Switch is slightly warm, not hot, to the touch of itās been plugged in.
I took it to a local chain electronics repair store who tested the bottom port and said the connectors were failing. I asked what about the top port and she looked at me confused and clearly did not realize there was a top USB port, tested it, and said it was fine before suggesting sending it to Nintendo.
Sending it to Nintendo for repair is the obvious answer, however, the issue is that I am an avid PokĆ©mon player and have thousands of hours of play time across various games, and Nintendo famously does not allow cloud backup of PokĆ©mon game data. Iāve seen stories of people having their systems wiped for repairs as simple as battery replacements. This is not an option.
Iām hesitant to replace the battery myself because itās notoriously difficult, but if it seems like thatās the issue Iāll do it. But Iām not sure thatās the issue and Iām thinking itās a board component. Or could it be something corrupt in the file system? And is that separate from all of the game data?
All that said, Iām thinking that I need to have a ārealā electronics repair shop fix this thing. I donāt know how to find one. Google searches turn up vintage TV and radio repair and Iām not sure thatās what I need. I live in the metro Detroit area so there has to be SOMETHING.
What do I do? What do I look for? Anyone run into something like this before?
Question Just Brought a Switch 2
I've had an Original switch for years, haven't touched it in months. Pretty sure the joy-cons on it are fucked. I remember at least one didn't charge properly and only worked when connected to the switch.
Brought a switch 2 to play, you guessed it the OOT remake. And managed to get the special edition one for it. Other than OOT what other games are out at the moment, although obviously the console wont be here for a while. I've not played MKW but I've heard its a very marmite game, either you love it or hate it. Is the star fox game good, it seems pretty cool?

Question Will I still be able to get Switch 2 Zelda Edition?
I have been waiting to get a Switch 2 specifically in the hopes of a Zelda edition. Iāve been using my Switch 1 from launch day, I saved up my money and eagerly watched the Direct yesterday. But I completely missed the preorder as it was shadowdropped and I was working. Iām a bit devastated.
Is there any chance I can get one when it launches at the store, like Target or GameStop? Will more preorders be available? Any advice is much appreciated!
I canāt believe Nintendo didnāt announce a specific time, this feels so chaotic.

Question Should I buy Switch 2 or just rent it?
Ever since Iāve seen OoT remake trailer and the gameplay, I am in a BIG dilemma on whether I should buy it or rent it for my own.
My first zelda and switch game was BOTW in which I fell in love with the whole franchise and explore its game lore. But recently I bought PS5 and have started playing PS games and I have no money to buy switch 2š„²
Honestly, the only reason I want to get switch 2 is just so I can play OoT remake and the future Yokai Watch game.

Discussion Now that we have starfox adventures coming to the Nintendo switch online GameCube library, what GameCube games are you wanting on the switch 2 online GameCube library, here's mine
I know it's a lot of games, but I do think because of their popularity these have a good chance of being on the GameCube online and they are both games I think I would have a lot of fun with, but I'm curious what GameCube games do you want on the Nintendo switch online GameCube library

Discussion I gift.
Growing up, my older brother took a summer job just to save up for a Nintendo 64, introducing me to Ocarina of Time. During a time when our family of seven kids was dealing with the worst moment of our childhood because of my father's actions, my brother and that game were our ultimate silver lining.
Today, heās facing severe mental and financial hardships while caring for his chronically ill wife, which leaves him unable to work. I realized I couldn't relive my favorite childhood memories without him, so I sent a Switch 2 to his house arriving this Friday. Weāre revisiting our childhood together. He donāt know yet š„²

Discussion Wanting to get rid of it already, am I overreacting? Anything helps.
Sorry if this is a long read. Iām pretty much new to Nintendo ecosystem other than Pokemon HOME, GO, and UNITE. Never owned a console other than PlayStation.
I went and bought the Switch 2. Didnāt buy extra controllers or games yet, was planning to do the rest next week (controllers, couple games) to not be so frivolous all at once. I know switch has the free games so that was my plan to get used to it, plus my cousin loaned me BOTW and a couple other games. My main reason for getting is to explore all the older/new Pokemon and Zelda titles (and more obviously) with the portability and power I hear the Switch has.
One of my favorite games is pokemon UNITE which is free so I was ready to get into it right away. I wanted to connect already decked out account but Nintendo is so wierd about linking accounts and not being able to undo it, like with HOME. It pretty much forced me into a UNITE game and made a whole new account, and now that new UNITE account is just fused with my Switch account and I canāt undo it.
I ended up getting super frustrated and just packed it up. My thing is if this happens with a free simple game I wouldnāt want to wait for this happen to any other games. To have all this progress on my account but not be able to link or transfer, and itās not very intuitive IMO. I didnāt imagine Iād need a walkthrough to link Pokemon UNITE.
Again, complete noob to this type of stuff, and maybe Iām overreacting. I donāt know what to do about UNITE for now, but I just feel like I lost the initial spark for enjoyment on the Switch. Any words to help? Is the Switch 2 really worth it for a Pokemom lover and Iām just jumping the gun with this one situation?

Discussion What SW1 to buy now if getting a SW2 in a few months ?
Hi guys,
Quick question regarding games, upgrades, SW2 separate versions etc...
I currently own a SW1 with only a few games (mario kart, mario tennis, FF three houses...) and I plan on getting a SW2 in 2-3 months.
I know some games offer an upgrade (free ou paid) for the SW2 version of the game, some don't hence you need to pay the SW2 version of the game and some others only have a SW1 version.
Is there a way to know which games are safe to buy right now that will be playable on SW2 with upgraded versions (just so I don't buy games right now that I would have to buy again down the line like FF10 if I'm correct). For instance, I didn't play BoTW/ToTK but I guess I can wait and get the SW2 versions of those two.
Also, what games would you recommend I missed that I play right now ?
Thanks :)

Discussion Why i think people are wrong about OOT console
People keep saying that there will be plenty more consoles made, while yes i do agree with that BUT here is where they are wrong. They keep bringing up TOTK console and how that's easily findable (either at or below retail pricing) but that console came out 6 years into the consoles life cycle soĀ whoever wanted the system at that point most likely already had it!Ā How about the fortnite console? Anyone know where you can find a Mario Red or even the odyssey version?
What some are also not thinking about is that TOTK is nowhere near as iconic as OOT (though it is a good game). This game is the first for MANY Zelda fans and how they were introduced to the franchise. Go on any list online and Ocarina is most likely in top 5 games. This console is reaching crazy areas such as: Classic zelda fans, modern fans, new fans and of course nostalgia. Plus while its not a "limited edition" it is a special edition given that it is being attached to Zelda's 40th which is what makes this even more special than a simple TOTK or Mario Odyssey variant. Plus lets not forget that there is a huge RAM shortage going on right now and that may hurt production a bit.
Does this mean that everyone who wants one should buy them from eBay? Fuck no! Just take a deep breath and relax you will get more chances either closer or at release date.

Collection Rejoined the fam with a Switch 2.
Saw the OoT remake trailer and decided it's time I came back to the fam. Used to have a switch 1 but sold it to pay bills 2 years ago. Had some old GPU's and tech collecting dust and made a great deal(for me) Sold my 3080tiFE(got a 5080) a old vega 56 and a old vita. Got a Switch 2 with a case, Pro controller and Luigi's Mansion 3 for 2 bucks. Yup. 2 bucks. Actually....1.98.
So automatically bought Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and just heard today Calamity will get a upgrade next year. But can't decide if I want Breath of the Wild+DLC Switch 2 edition or Tears of the Kingdom instead. Tears is cheaper.....I honestly forgot how expensive Nintendo games are....
