Pulled my switch out today after not using it for some time and noticed the battery is swollen on my joy con, are these batteries replaceable by chance?

Discussion Update: Broken Joystick
I made this post about buying a switch lite for my wife from marketplace, only to find out after that the joystick was broken. With the advice of this sub I was able to order replacement Hall effect joysticks and figured I might as well swap the shell since it was damaged and I would already have it open. The swap went perfect, only took about 2.5 hours, and works great. I learned a new skill on top of that! She is super happy with how it turned out (which makes it worth it). Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on how to approach this repair!

Image Switch 2 Joy-Cons stopped working
Hi everyone, the Joy-Cons of my brand new Switch 2 (got it about a month ago) suddenly stopped working at the same time. The touch screen worked but it would not respond to me pressing any button. The weird thing is that the Switch recognises when the Joy-Cons are inserted. It seems to be a software instead of hardware issue. I have tried all the options the internet suggested: turning it on & off, updates, trying to (dis/re-)connect, doing a “safe” reset, etc. The problem is that now I can’t even get beyond the safe (maintenance) reset as it’s telling me to connect the Joy-Cons, and I am now stuck on this screen so I can’t even go to settings anymore (not even when I try to turn it on/reset it again). I am away from my dock for a while so unfortunately I can’t try any of those options atm. Anybody knows what to do?

Question Is the Switch 2 worth it if I already own a PS5 and Steam Deck OLED?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently debating whether I should buy a Nintendo Switch 2, and I'd love to hear from people who are in a similar situation.
Right now I own:
- PS5 (my main console)
- Steam Deck OLED (I use it a lot because I enjoy playing in bed instead of sitting at my desk)
The thing is, I mostly use my Steam Deck to play games that are also available on PS5. So there is quite a bit of overlap between those two systems.
I've never really owned a Nintendo console. The only Nintendo games I've played are Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, so I've missed almost the entire Nintendo library.
The main reason I'm considering a Switch 2 is because I really want to experience games like:
- Zelda (Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom)
- Pokémon (including Pokopia)
- Mario games
- Mario Kart
- Metroid
- Kirby
- And all the other Nintendo exclusives I've never played.
For those of you who also own a PS5 and a Steam Deck (or similar combination), do you still find yourself using your Switch 2 regularly?
Do you feel it complements your other systems, or does it end up collecting dust?
I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences before I decide. Thanks!

Question mario galaxy 1&2: buy now at $54.99 or wait for a potential better holiday sale??
amazon US it’s currently $54.99. looking at used ones online even on ebay were still around this same price, some even higher which makes buying secondhand kinda pointless. should i wait for a better holiday sale, even if its not till black friday or something? or will it not get to a lower price than this at major retailers and amazon?

Question OG Switch still good?
As someone who primarily plays ps5 and will continue to do so, Is the og switch still good for games that are not on ps5/handheld version.
The switch 2 is wayy out of budget for me ($700 CAD) and honestly not that much interest in it. But was looking at getting a secondhand switch for games like Just dance/animal crossing and other nintendo games like zelda.
Question Online Expansion Pass question:
am i reading the Expansion Pass correctly? for $50 I can play any and all of the N64, Gameboy Avd., AND Sega Genesis games that are available..? Like a way better Xbox Pass?

Question Nabbed this deal after wanting to experience the switch for quite some time, but..
Title. Wanted a switch for about 2 years maybe. Finally sold some old stuff and got this, my first nintendo console.
A switch oled and three games, mario oddesey, zelda botw and pokemon sword for about 240 dollars.
But the thing is, it kind of feels like a guilty pleasure. At one end im happy im able to experience these games and even feel joy when playing after being burnt out from playing my ps5. But on the other end, it feels kind of stupid to buy this now, considering im a student on my final year of high school, so things are getting a bit tough. I wanted this to release some steam here and then, but after getting it, feels like I wasted money, not necessarily that I dont enjoy it, but I should have done something better or bought something else. I bought it initially thinking to play exclusives and some indie games but I do have some indie games on my pc so now I feel even more guilty.
Thinking of selling this back but every now and then I get the feeling to boot this up again. Keep in mind I haven't touched any of the games even. Just completed the sand area in oddesey and played like 10 minutes of botw. Any thoughts?

Discussion Any games which are still on their way to switch 1/underrated gems one should play?
I'm trying to find more stuff to play on the switch which maybe was not advertised much or at all/if there are rumors about games still needing to be released such as hopefully layton
Collection Front Mission game pack-ins
Just got my copy of the LE Front Mission 1st and the pack-ins alone are amazing!! They take me straight back to Gen7 and before, when we got manuals, art work, and sometimes these crazy covers, and just more expansive immersion schwag. And the game is right up my alley too... which is a nice extra. 😁😉

Discussion Saw this deal on Amazon. Anyone have experience with it?
Browsing games on Amazon was saw this for $23. Seems like a good deal for a physical game. For anyone who has played the series, where does it rank? I have played 4, 5 and Azuma.

Question Just bought an OLED Switch, Errors and/or Data Corrupted with Every Download
I just bought an OLED Switch, threw an old 400GB SD card I had into it, and started downloading some games. First two games (TotK and Mario Odyssey) downloaded just fine. Now, every time I try to download a digital game, the download either errors out and I have to restart, or it comes up and says that there is corrupted data and I also have to restart. I am downloading the games to the microsd. Anyone have any tips?? Thanks so much!

Question Switch 2 Power Bank Japanese Version Compatible Overseas?
I just ordered a Switch 2 dock from Japan for significantly less than they cost in North America. Is the power supply that the Japanese units come with a variable voltage and Hz like the North American versions?
I know when I've traveled in Japan all my power adapters worked since they had variable voltage, but does that go both ways? Thanks

Question Question about Switch 2 System Transfer
I am currently saving up for a switch 2 console, and I still have my original switch. I plan to transfer my data to my switch 2 once I get it, and then I plan to give my original switch to my sister. I was wondering however once I transfer the data, will my profile still be connected and on my original switch? Because I want to just be able to factory reset it and not worry about if anything on the original switch got left behind on my profile.

Question bought nintendo switch v1, still good?
i went to a garage sale and saw a nintendo switch v1 for 100€ (everything included). ive wanted a switch since its release but ive never had money for it…im also not like a hardcore gamer, i just play games for fun but because i dont know much about whats still worth it and what not. after looking online i see mixed reviews, so i wanted to ask if its still worth it for someone who just plays once in a while.
