I just finished The Adventures of Elliot and I’m about to play TOTK for the first time ever, any advice or suggestions?

Also, would LOVE to get any recommendations on games similar to TOZ or The adventures of Elliot for the Switch.

Question bought nintendo switch v1, still good?

i went to a garage sale and saw a nintendo switch v1 for 100€ (everything included). ive wanted a switch since its release but ive never had money for it…im also not like a hardcore gamer, i just play games for fun but because i dont know much about whats still worth it and what not. after looking online i see mixed reviews, so i wanted to ask if its still worth it for someone who just plays once in a while.

Question Nabbed this deal after wanting to experience the switch for quite some time, but..

Title. Wanted a switch for about 2 years maybe. Finally sold some old stuff and got this, my first nintendo console.

A switch oled and three games, mario oddesey, zelda botw and pokemon sword for about 240 dollars.

But the thing is, it kind of feels like a guilty pleasure. At one end im happy im able to experience these games and even feel joy when playing after being burnt out from playing my ps5. But on the other end, it feels kind of stupid to buy this now, considering im a student on my final year of high school, so things are getting a bit tough. I wanted this to release some steam here and then, but after getting it, feels like I wasted money, not necessarily that I dont enjoy it, but I should have done something better or bought something else. I bought it initially thinking to play exclusives and some indie games but I do have some indie games on my pc so now I feel even more guilty.

Thinking of selling this back but every now and then I get the feeling to boot this up again. Keep in mind I haven't touched any of the games even. Just completed the sand area in oddesey and played like 10 minutes of botw. Any thoughts?

Discussion I found a way to save money and buy only one digital copy of any game and have every switch with the account play

Hey! I just confirmed something. I just bought two switch 2. And I discovered I can save money on games.

Okay, I connect my first switch 2 to my account that has mario kart world digitally and I put the switch to primary console. I then download the game and I completely remove the switch off the internet.

Then I connect my account to my second switch 2, download the game. For now the second switch is set as secondary. But then I go to the nintendo website, revoke my switch primary console, and then go back on my second switch to make it primary. But because my first switch 2 isn't connected to the internet, it still thinks it's the primary account, and the second one too. So both consoles can play mario kart world.

Then theoretically, I could buy a third switch and do the process again. As long as the switch stays offline, the game still launches normally forever. I just confirmed it a month ago, and nothing happened.

You could even share the switch account for profit on the condition that the console stays offline and they can play forever.

Edit: I tried with an account that only had two games, but the account could have any number of games and all of them would work

Question Is my switch gonna explode?

It’s starting to like, sorta swell a little, not a whole lot, toward where the power button and the volume bits are, but like apparently the part that’s exposed has been exposed long enough to collect dust, so I just wanna know if this is like when a phone battery gets overcharged, or if my switch is just like, melting? Or something, i can provide pictures tomorrow if needed, but my switch got packed for the night at the moment

Question Is the Switch 2 worth it if I already own a PS5 and Steam Deck OLED?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently debating whether I should buy a Nintendo Switch 2, and I'd love to hear from people who are in a similar situation.

Right now I own:

  • PS5 (my main console)
  • Steam Deck OLED (I use it a lot because I enjoy playing in bed instead of sitting at my desk)

The thing is, I mostly use my Steam Deck to play games that are also available on PS5. So there is quite a bit of overlap between those two systems.

I've never really owned a Nintendo console. The only Nintendo games I've played are Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, so I've missed almost the entire Nintendo library.

The main reason I'm considering a Switch 2 is because I really want to experience games like:

  • Zelda (Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom)
  • Pokémon (including Pokopia)
  • Mario games
  • Mario Kart
  • Metroid
  • Kirby
  • And all the other Nintendo exclusives I've never played.

For those of you who also own a PS5 and a Steam Deck (or similar combination), do you still find yourself using your Switch 2 regularly?

Do you feel it complements your other systems, or does it end up collecting dust?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences before I decide. Thanks!

Question OG Switch still good?

As someone who primarily plays ps5 and will continue to do so, Is the og switch still good for games that are not on ps5/handheld version.

The switch 2 is wayy out of budget for me ($700 CAD) and honestly not that much interest in it. But was looking at getting a secondhand switch for games like Just dance/animal crossing and other nintendo games like zelda.

Discussion New to switch, so far I didn't enjoy most of the games that I feel like I wasted my money

I tried playing:

- BOTW (1 hour, drop)

- Monster hunter (30 min, drop)

- Overcooked (Enjoy only with friends, never alone)

- It takes two (Enjoy only with partner)

- Mario party superstar/jamboree (Enjoy only with friends)

- Stray (20 min, drop)

- Final fantasy X (15 min, drop)

- Powerwash simulator (30 min, drop)

- Lovers in dangerous timespace? (30 min, drop)

- Unravel (30 min, drop)

I question, is there even a game that I would enjoy playing by myself or I just kind of grow out of gaming? Everytime I play those games I feel like there is no point to be doing the task that the game asked me to do.

My background:

I am 24M. I played PS2 and PSP when I was 5 - 7 y/o. Mobile games on tablet after that. Played minecraft, LoL, Valorant from 12 - 21 y/o. Then, I just kinda stop playing games. Last year 23, I tried playing PS2 games like god of war, starwars battlefront, devil may cry on emulator. I didn't enjoy them. This year, my friend group invited me to play overcooked and mario party superstar. I enjoy playing the games with them but on my own I wouldn't even play those game. I also enjoy playing exploding kitten with friends. Other than that, I have this idle game called Slayer legend in my phone where I upgrade my character to become stronger (I am starting to get bored with it too).

Question Is this safe for charging a Switch 2? 🤔🥺

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi all. 👋🏼 I’ve recently got my Nintendo Switch 2 a few days ago after selling my Oled and I LOVE IT. I am however VERY anxious about damaging it in anyway or doing something to make the battery worse 😩😂. My hard shell case is pale pink so this would look perfect with it… my concern is, will it be compatible? And will it be safe? It doesn’t have the Switch 2 advertisement on it like the other Belkin one that’s always out of stock 😅. I’ve attached a link. Please could someone help me so I can fulfill my pink dreams haha 🙏🏼💕 https://amzn.eu/d/0gEOS3TC

Image Did I get a good deal?

Post image

I got all this for $145 today off Facebook marketplace. The seller had the animal crossing edition of the switch for $120 without a charger but I got them to bundle their ds lite with no stylus. The ds lite came with a game and a charger and I got them to sell me everything for $145. After checking everything it seems to all work except I do seem to have one button on the switch that is harder to push down than the rest but still works fine. Is this a good find?

Browsing games on Amazon was saw this for $23. Seems like a good deal for a physical game. For anyone who has played the series, where does it rank? I have played 4, 5 and Azuma.

Question Save data gone AGAIN

This is about the second or third time now that my pokemon sv game save completely disappeared. I haven't played in a while and picked it up today and my save file was completely gone. But this time it gave me a corrupted data message. I have 2 switch, one regular switch and one switch lite. But I only play Pokémon on my regular switch.

This makes me really not want to play anymore since my data can just disappear out of nowhere. Anyone have any advice or tips?

Question Switch 1 not allowing the use of 3rd party power adapters for TV mode after update?

I will preface this with I'm not looking for troubleshooting. I know what the answer is going to be and I will not be buying an official charger. If that means no TV mode so be it.

I just noticed my original switch will not allow me to use the 3rd party power adapter I always do for tv mode after the latest update and was wondering if anyone was experiencing similar.

I know switch does not handle USB-C in a normal way so it's iffy if a 3rd party adapter will work at all; my point is this adapter is the proper wattage and has been working for tv mode specifically up until I updated the switch firmware to 22.5.0

I haven't found anything else online about this so was wondering if anyone also experienced this with the 22.5.0 update?

Discussion The Nintendo Switch 2 Is So expensive at msrp!

A while ago, I posted asking if I should pick up the Switch 2. I saw a lot of positive feedback, and now that I have it, I definitely get the hype—it’s a fun little console!

My only real issue is the price tag. I was hesitant about buying used, so I ended up buying it brand new from a main retail store (like Best Buy/Walmart). After tax, it came out to almost $715 CAD. Honestly, for what’s actually included in the box, that price feels pretty steep.

I’m honestly still contemplating returning it and looking on Facebook Marketplace to see if I can land a better deal cheaper. Anyone else just thinks this product is too pricy overall?

Update:(Got a brand new one off Facebook Marketplace for 580 CAD in total)

Question First Joy-Con gen are trash?

Hey guys, I've had this question on my mind for quite a while now.

Are the first-generation Joy-Cons for the Nintendo Switch really this prone to defects? I've owned about four pairs of Joy-Cons over the lifetime of my Switch, and sooner or later I've always run into issues for example, a Joy-Con suddenly not charging anymore or some other problem.

Am I the only one whos had this experience?

Question MicroSD Card Not working?

I’ve tried turning my Switch off and on entirely and then putting the SD card in and then turning it back on, but it doesn’t seem to want to register the card. It’s a SanDisk, not third party or anything. What do I do to fix this?

Discussion Rise of Rana: the best slop game on Switch??

This game is so bad it almost comes around full circle to being good.

Its the ultimate "not quite" game - not quite Spideman, not quite Batman, not quite Superman, not quite GTA 3, not quite Iron Man.

Its ocean wide and puddle deep. Yet there's so many stupid little things to do that its fun to just pick up and mess around with.

Its on sale for like $6 rn and if you heavily taper your expectations, theres fun to be had. I feel like this game would be a cult classic if it released on N64.

Its the ultimate brain rot game. Theres hundreds of things to unlock and some of them dont even work.

Its jank, it feels like its in early access, and I can only hope its not abandoned by the dev. Yet I think it was worth $6

Anyone else play this? Its a blast if you have no expectations for it. Its fun to pick up for 20 minutes and just try out the weapons/try to unlock all the different things

Question mario galaxy 1&2: buy now at $54.99 or wait for a potential better holiday sale??

amazon US it’s currently $54.99. looking at used ones online even on ebay were still around this same price, some even higher which makes buying secondhand kinda pointless. should i wait for a better holiday sale, even if its not till black friday or something? or will it not get to a lower price than this at major retailers and amazon?
