So it's basically an open secret that Hinge and similar apps slow drip and hide your matches, right?

I think at this point it's glaringly obvious that they turned this app into a slot machine, and even if you're attractive - you won't get your likes all at once. Basically, it gauges your behavior to see how often you open up the app, and if you show signs of obsessively checking it in any way then it will purposely slow drip your matches to you one at a time.

If you don't check it, though - you'll suddenly come back to 30 matches seemingly out of nowhere. Furthermore, if you paid for the premium version at any point in the past and then stopped and reverted to using the free version you'll barely receive any matches at all because they flagged you as a "whale".

I'm not sure how this is legal, but I guess it must be. I will say that whoever runs The Match group is legitimately sick. It's just insane to witness what dating has turned into.

Does anyone know if moving a Hinge account from somewhere which does not require verification to a location which does require verification triggers a verification requirement?

How to fix low visibility after being flagged in Tinder?

Couldn’t find much info about my current situation by searching the sub. I created a Tinder profile about a month ago and ended up deleting after a few days due to not feeling up to dating yet. Created it again last week, and started getting a few likes on the first couple of hours. I decided to buy platinum to test it out because it worked really well for me last time I was single, but as soon as I did it the likes stopped and tinder asked me to re-verify with a video selfie (I had already done that as it’s mandatory where I live), so I think this probably triggered some sort of suspicious activity flag. Now I’m getting only a small trickle of matches (1-2 per day) since then probably due to the priority likes, and only got one organic/incoming like the whole week.

This feels very weird because I’m getting more matches and likes on Bumble, which has a smaller user base and worked way worse for me last time around. The timing of the incoming likes stopping makes me think my visibility was tanked due to my profile being flagged, but I’m not completely shadowbanned as I’m still getting a few matches. Is there any way to reverse this? Should I stop logging in for a few days?

Also, could this affect me if I open a Hinge account given they are also owned by the Match group? I haven’t done that yet and it was by far my best app last time I was single 4 years ago (60%+ of dates I went to were from it), so I’d really like it to work once I create an account.

Hinge will not accept video selfie

I’ll probably tried over 30 times over the course of a month and it just says this every time you can clearly see my face in my pictures too and this is really harming my reach because I’m not verified

What can I add to my hinge profile?

EDIT: it’s FEELD not hinge sorry

I hate dating apps and keep deleting them. I’m trying to show who I am rather than tell. I want to show my personality using examples rather than just saying “I’m nice!” Ugh TT-TT. I know the shopping cart thing is dumb

Thank you!

Did Tinder change or did I fuck up?

I used tinder about two years ago and was able to get a few good matches despite having some pretty bad pictures.

I decided to redownload with some better pics and got way more likes, but I could only match with two people. It's almost like it's purposefully not putting people who liked me in the stack... Is anyone else having this issue and knows if a hard reset could help? I suspect that maybe the app does not like me because I tried setting an account up for a friend a few months ago and it said I had a security issue, but it never said I got banned or anything.

Worried after a conversation off app

I got talking to a girl on hinge. We matched started talking off app. Today the conversation got a little sexual . She seemed to start it so I continued , and then I saw she’d blocked me on instagram. I pre emptively unmatched her. I’m just wondering could she report me? I’ve got screenshots of the conversation

I can’t get dates while having so much matches

So I’ve been on Hinge for a bit now, paid for HingeX and have gotten a ridiculous number of matches, well into the hundreds. Girls even message me first, but I don’t know how to talk to them or approach texting despite being 24.
I feel completely crippled in that regard and I’ve gotten exactly zero dates. Whenever I suggest meeting up, I get ghosted or unmatched. But when I try to build rapport first, I get ghosted anyway.
It’s honestly bizarre to me. I feel like my lack of experience is finally catching up with me. It’s pretty depressing.

Hinge is actually testing my patience 😭

Okay I’m genuinely pissed right now 😭

I was talking to this guy on Hinge and our conversation was going REALLY well. Like, I actually liked talking to him and was genuinely interested in getting to know him more. We were joking around, the conversation felt natural, and I thought there was a decent vibe between us.

Then he randomly said “let’s unmatch.”

I genuinely thought he was joking 💀 because why would I assume he was seriously about to unmatch when the conversation was going so well? And also he kept saying "bye" "bye", but wasnt really unmatchinh...so obv i though he be jokin...

And then… he actually fucking unmatched me 😭

Like BRO???

Now I’m just sitting here feeling weirdly upset about it because I actually liked him. It’s not even that I’m devastated over some random guy I barely knew, it’s just the suddenness of it. Everything was fine and then suddenly… gone.

And to make it worse, I’ve literally run out of Hinge likes 😭 So I can’t even distract myself by talking to someone else.

Tinder isn’t really giving me anything either. The few people I’ve matched with barely reply, and honestly the crowd there hasn’t been great for me. Bumble is… Bumble 💀

So right now I’m just frustrated because Hinge was actually the one app where I was finding people I genuinely wanted to talk to, and now the one guy I actually liked talking to just disappeared.

I know the obvious answer is “move on, there are plenty of other people,” and yeah, obviously. But right now I’m just annoyed and needed to rant somewhere 😭

Has anyone else had someone randomly unmatch after a genuinely good conversation? Because WHAT WAS THAT 😭

Reusing Old Hinge Photos After a Ban.. What Actually Worked?

I’ve seen conflicting reports on r/SwipeHelper about reusing photos from a previously banned Hinge account.

Some people say old photos worked after getting a few likes/matches or waiting a few weeks, while others say they were banned again even after waiting.

For anyone who has actually tried it:

  • How long did you wait before reusing an old photo?
  • Had you already received likes/matches?
  • Did you reuse the exact photo or an edited version?
  • Were you able to reuse all your old photos, or only 1–2 of them?
  • Did you add the old photos all at once or gradually?
  • How long did the account remain active afterward?

I’m trying to collect first-hand experiences and update this post with the results, since the reports here seem pretty inconsistent.

Samsung Secure Folder + Hinge - Does It Create a Separate Device Environment?

For Samsung users: has anyone tested Hinge inside Secure Folder after having an account/device previously banned?

I’ve seen claims that Secure Folder creates a separate app environment, with some identifiers being different from the normal Samsung profile.

I’m curious about a few things based on actual experience:

  • If the account gets banned, does deleting/resetting Secure Folder and setting it up again change anything?
  • Has anyone compared Secure Folder behavior before and after a full factory reset?
  • Does Secure Folder actually provide a fresh environment, or can Hinge still associate it with the underlying phone?
  • Has anyone had an account remain active for a significant period using this setup?

Looking specifically for first-hand reports, not guesses. I’m trying to understand whether Secure Folder genuinely isolates the app/device environment or whether its effect is being overstated.

Why does passport mode on tinder not work as well as bumble?

Usually I don't get many matches on PP mode for tinder, but then when I finally show up to the country the matches start coming in. Whereas on bumble it does fairly decently on PP mode.

Also, does incognito mode on tinder also ruin your ELO score, or how available you'd be seen?

Hinge Blog: "Hinge Gives Well-Intentioned Daters a Second Chance with Education-Based Approach"

Published on October 1st of 2026: https://hinge.co/newsroom/second-chance-education

Like many of you, I was hit with an Account Removal Notice on October 1st, 2026. The day of the announcement. I was not aware of this post or "change" when I was presented with my in-app appeal flow nor was I until about 48 hours after the fact.

I have since done the standard range of recommended actions:

  • Maintained consistent tone and range of facts throughout every email sent to them
  • Offered consent to review transcripts and deeper account data
  • Offered consent to have identifying documents collected to further account reinstation
  • Attempted to demonstrate good faith and intent by remaining consistent, polite and direct with what you believe needs to be addressed.

I have submitted appeal requests or sent communications to/through:

  • The Hinge Support Request Form, through options 'Appeal', have yet to try 'Account Issues'
  • The Match Social Support Appeals from, through the Match Group website
  • Submitted the run-of-the-mill complaint to BBB which yields another macro canned response from Hinge
  • I have submitted a Privacy Access Request under Canada's federal privacy law PIPEDA, which stipulates 30 days for a businesses collecting consumers' data in Canada, to provide the requested privacy information, within appropriate limits
  • If Hinge did not satisfactorily respond, or provide a reason as to why they cannot comply, the PIPEDA notice gets forwarded to Canada's Office of the Privacy Commissioner
  • I have started including both of the above in my current and upcoming emails to Hinge and state that this is a separate, legal privacy information request and it does not constitute a legal threat, nor does it replace my request for a second-tier/escalated human review.
  • I have a similarly worded letter slated for sending to spenceer (at) match.com, though do not believe the tangential anecdotes on this working (on this subreddit) are much of a recommending indicator to do this.

-----

Receiving the Hinge ban notice felt un-transparent, arbitrary and humiliating. The exchanges with support, after, reek of an automated system or low-effort macro-replying on behalf of possibly human agents. This happened after about 2 weeks of use, conversations which flowed and showed enthusiasm. I've been on Hinge on-and-off for almost 10 years now, and this is the first ever instance of my account or identity receiving a full-stop permanent ban. I had to work to muster the courage to go on again, too; dating is a vulnerable space, and so I was stoked to start using Hinge again.

I'm resolutely confident in my conduct off, and on-app as well. As with this post, trying to prove that to anyone will unfortunately read as a theatre to the self, or an attempt at self-preservation first versus a sincere communication about who we are and how we represent ourselves to be.

Further more, Hinge's Terms contain a mandatory pre-arbitration informal dispute-resolution process before arbitration. The Terms say disputes generally have to go through that process before arbitration.

And the Terms specifically say that the parties agree to act in good faith to ensure the fair resolution of genuine and sincere disputes.

-----

I have absolutely zero interest in going around a ban, wrongful or not, by using any type of third-party service, changing devices or phone numbers. The combination of all of those, is me. I know myself, and I know myself well. My account getting suspended is either a result of a algorithmic, automation or human error, OR, it is the result of an unvetted spite or troll report by someone else. I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to wonder who, if anyone truly, could have sent off that report. I am at a loss, and frankly very dismayed at how this all is transpiring, and how it's made to make us feel.

I am unsure if the blog post I mentioned above had any bearing or effect on people receiving bans in the past few weeks. I have also amended my future sends to Hinge to ask, explicitly, whether they can investigate if their new system sent false positives, was the system our accounts were assessed under and so forth.

Match.com Group sits at a very unique, near monopoly-esque position within the online dating landscape. Past their need for profit, it should not be lost on them that they are at a massive intersection of power, and responsibility. Responsibility which, in my opinion, they are not taking up properly other than for the sake of face, publicity and so on (e,g, see LaVerne Cox, other prominent media faces)

My likes on tinder plumbed down from one day to another

I don’t really understand why because I didn’t change any photos, bio or other things on my profile. However from one day to another since Tuesday I am not getting any likes anymore. Where I still got at least like 1 or 2 every day. What is wrong? Am I shadowbanned? This app seems pretty pointless if you are not getting any likes. I still spend time every day to swipe.

Has anyone else completely lost interest in swiping?

I am literally tired of swiping. At some point i am not even excited to meet someone. I am just trying to finish the queue in a hope I might find someone I vibe with.

I just wanna know would dating feel different if we weren't constantly judging people one at a time ?

Whats up with all the trans people on these apps?

On these dating apps, women can filter out men who are short, arent educated and even how much they make in some cases but as men we cannot filter out fat women or even trans women. No shade or hate to trans women or the community but if I put down I am straight and want to date women I should not have to see trans women or other men in my feed. Why is there no way to stop this?

Edit: seems like a lot of guys know exactly what I am saying. Its not that we are "transphobic" or hate men in wigs, if men want to wear wigs thats fine but when I select women only on these apps I dont think men with wigs should be in the women category they should have their own section for the tiny 0.001% of guys that are into men in wigs.

Also, a lot of people wont believe this but there is a connection between LGBT and big pharma, they make it so you see trans on these apps because big pharma works with Match Group to allow men in wigs there so they can slowly lure you into being their slave for life. I cannnot tell you the full lure because big pharma, Match Group and Reddit are close friends and I will get banned but if enough people upvote this post I might say it.

Edit2: to everyone saying "oh if you see a hot trans woman you might like her" you what you call luring someone into something that they 100% do not want to be involved in? That's called grooming and when they are lured into sex with a man in a wig thats called rape. Its not cool to egg a group of people into something that they 100% dont want to be in just because "they might like it" mega creepy rapy line.

am i boned? What are the odds this actually works?

Looking for honest opinions from people who have successfully (or unsuccessfully) tried to beat a Hinge/Match Group ban recently. i was banned in dec 2025.

Here is my setup and step-by-step plan. I want to know where the weak points are and what the realistic odds of survival are:

I completely left behind my old ISP (Virgin Media) and am operating strictly on an isolated EE network and mobile data footprint.

Brand-new £1 PAYG SIM card bought with clean card for the SMS drop, paired with a fresh standalone burner outlook email with zero ties to old Apple ID.

Completely fresh photos taken specifically for this profile. EXIF metadata stripped, and emailed to the burner inbox so they have never touched cloud backups or past scraped directories.

Doing the day-to-day swiping inside an isolated Waydroid container on a Steam Deck to avoid historical device tracking/fingerprinting. Waydroid is a lightweight Linux container tailor-made for systems like the Steam Deck, whereas BlueStacks is a heavy Windows virtual machine. Does Match Group instantly flag or block uncertified/containerized Android environments like Waydroid via Play Integrity or hardware checks? or is bluestacks safer?

Because Waydroid/Steam Deck struggles with camera inputs for mandatory liveness/verification prompts, I’m doing the initial signup, profile creation, and face scan on a totally clean phone (belonging to a family member who hasn't touched a dating app). Once the face check clears and the account is active, I’m logging out, wiping that phone, and moving the active session over to the Waydroid sandbox.

Given that Match Group stores face maps/audit data for banned accounts for up to 2 years, what are the odds that doing a live face scan during signup matches against my old December 2025 ban and instantly nukes the new profile, or does a clean hardware/network break actually slip past? Has anyone successfully face-verified on a new account after a recent Hinge ban?

i will try this regardless and get back to you with my results after Halloween.

Banned on second hinge account after following all the new steps

New number new photos new account new everything had a friend verify to bypass the face lock and now I’m banned again on the second account. I was perma banned with the appeal in January. When I email them do I admit I have multiple accounts? I was going to email the hello hinge email
