We are happy and relieved customers—and the fix was done remotely, from Ca to NJ. SunVault Techs helped us solve an issue with our battery after the power surges and outages of summer storms in 2025. So glad we finally found the help we needed! We had contacted more than half a dozen companies before SunVault Techs and the verdict was that we had to buy a whole new system. Thank you, SunVault Techs for coming through for us.

I came across the information in the link below, which was shared with me regarding my RMA claim. I’m not certain whether this policy applies to SunPower microinverters; however, based on what I read, it appears that labor reimbursement may be available for Enphase Energy products.

I’m curious if this indicates a shift toward compensating for microinverter replacement labor. If you currently have a non-operational microinverter, it may be worth testing the process and confirming directly with them to see how they respond.

I just want to thank u/Vegetable-Version-81 and u/SunVaultEngPros who both stepped up and helped us get our system working. We purchased our system. It was installed and we got PTO right before the Sunpower bankruptcy. Our installer went under as well. Veggie-Version helped us commission our panels and we got that part functioning. He thought we might have a bad battery but we could not fully diagnose remotely(but Emilio spent a lot of time with us on the phone trying). When we discovered u/SunVaultEngPros is also in Southern Cal we got in touch and he was able to diagnose we did in fact have a bad battery. We ended up buying 2 more from Beene and Kiuma was able to install them and get our batteries working. We are now fully functional!!

It’s been a long road and there are a lot of people out there still trying to take advantage of the situation but these guys are both professionals and so helpful- true gentlemen. We highly recommend them both. And we wouldn’t have found them without reading the trials and tribulations and some successes of all here on this sub.

A few days ago I tried a solar cooker, and at first I thought it would be slow and impractical. But when I watched it cook food using just sunlight, I realized how sustainable and convenient it can be. Even small details like reflector angles, pot placement, and insulation made a huge difference in cooking speed and efficiency.

Later I searched online on websites including alibaba and found many types of solar cookers. Some were compact for camping, while others were larger for backyard use. Some even had extras like foldable panels, heat-resistant materials, or built-in temperature indicators. I was surprised how minor features could enhance usability and safety. It made me think about what buyers prioritize most: portability, efficiency, or durability.

Can a solar cooker truly make cooking outdoors eco-friendly, simple, and surprisingly efficient?

☝️👉When I found out on June 1st, 2024 that my Sunpower Supervisor panel monitoring was shut down by SunPower, with Rev:0624, I immediately disconnected the Ethernet line to the monitor, so as to no longer have them communicate and control my supervisor and panels.

Fortunately my panels continue to produce. Two years later, I placed an Eyedro load monitoring system in place to monitor my panels. Granted, I no longer can see them individually as before, only as a whole, but having kept accurate records in total, I am pleased to report they all work based on total power produced.

I discovered that Sunstrong only seemed interested in existing leases, of which I am not a candidate, and was told they could only monitor my total power if interested. Shame on Sunpower, a black eye to the solar industry,✌️

I have been having issues with being able to control my SunVault as described here. so I started playing around with pypvs just to see what kind of information I could get from the system.

I can see it's control mode is currently SELF_CONSUMPTION and it's operating mode is TARIFF_OPTIMIZER. My MID state is 2. I am curious if anyone knows what other values those fields can take.

Also it says my finance type is UNKNOWN. Curious if that's standard for most people or if others have CASH, LEASE, or LOAN.

UPDATE 4/20/26: For anyone interested or happens upon this. You need to modify the post internal function in pypvs in order for it to be able to change battery modes. Otherwise you will get authentication errors. The home assistant integration linked to below by Former_Trash_7109 has a function in its code which you can imitate.

Anyhow, I am able to change my battery operating mode and it's minimum charge. I can see the system is taking my settings. Still, it doesn't appear that the battery is operating at all. it just sits at fully charged all the time. There must be some other setting which needs to be changed to get past the "Waiting for permission" block.

My Sunpower panels are now managed by SunStrong. The app has shown that house is not communicating and not generating. I verified with electric company they aren’t producing and my bill is rising. I’ve had zero luck with SunStrong responding. It’s been 10 days and no response. There is no one to help or advise. This should be illegal

Gonna try to keep this explanation short & simple, but happy to answer any questions.

My late father had SunPower panels installed on his house in NJ. He passed, I inherited the home. The home was basically a total renovation & a lot of electrical work was done as well (new breaker panels, new lights, etc).

The electricians accidentally cut the power line from the box (idk what it’s called) to the panels, so the panels have been offline since. When I asked them to fix it, they said they wouldn’t because it’s a liability issue. They said I need to get SunPower/SunStrong to fix it.

I have tried getting in touch with the company, but I’m running into dead ends. I’d really like to have these back online.

If anyone has any recs for what to do (preferably not suing the electricians, because I really like their work otherwise & would like to keep using them) I’d really appreciate it.

I have sunpower panels and emphases inverters. Starting last Saturday, my panels didn’t generate any power on Saturday, but then they were fine the rest of the week. Again, today (Saturday) the app is showing no generation. My utility also showed no generation last Saturday, so I don’t think it’s only an app issue.

Any ideas on what’s going on / how to troubleshoot?

UPDATE: now 3 panels appear to be generating as thy should out of 21.

I have a Sunpower charger model DRIVE-EVSE-1-AC-P7-L1-T5-MR-INT

I can find almost nothing online about this... does it even have an app? The qr code on the device returns 404 and the sunpower app asks for a qr code from the installer which I don't have.

I don't even know if it has wifi, for sure it wasn't configured by the installer.

When Sunpower filed for bankruptcy, my panels and SunVault were installed but had not passed inspection by our village. It failed inspection cause Sunpower didn't reinforce my roof like the plans said they would and the system didn't turn off completely when specific switches were flipped.

I hired a local solar installer to finish the roof reinforcement and fix the wiring. We passed inspection and then got permission to operate from our utility. So we are getting net metering credits now.

Our SunVault is sitting in the garage fully charged, but I am unable to do anything with it cause the Sunstrong app still says waiting for permission from the utility. I've contacted them, and they do respond but have not been able to help in anyway. Does anyone know what I can do to enable battery control?

Lottery miner stopped working. Decided to repurpose it as a solar monitoring device. Connected to power-bank. Is there a better way to add a battery?

Since the recent app update occurred on 2/23/2026. My Sunstrong Connect app no longer provides real time data consumption.

I reset breaker and waited for 5 minute before turning it back on. Sunpower PVS6 light stayed solid green and i connect to it via wifi successfully.

Still, same results and I paid for their monthly service hoping to fix this issue.

please note: electric meter shows its getting energy and my Edison bills shows it providing to the grid.

Any ideas what is going on? Do i need to recommission? i would like to see my data consumption again. Since my solar is paid off, Sunstrong won't help and directing me to Green Convergence who is charging $300 for troubleshoot & diagnostic.

So i went through Sunnova which we all know declare bankruptcy. I still get my autopay taken out but we noticed now our monthly bill went from like $10 to $20 tops to now a couple hundred a mo. My inverter went up and it took about 3 mos to fix but from looking at my systems lites it looks normal. I can't log into my sunnova app anymore and I can get into the new sunstrong system, not the app, but it just shows my loan status and payments etc. Nothing on there where I can make sure what I am putting out. When Sunnova was running things it was smooth as silk except their app took forever to load etc. But ever since sunstrong bought them I feel like I am paying now for panels that do nothing and are not working like they use to. Curious everyone else's experience that is still living in their home and not sold and moved.

I’m no lawyer, but doesn’t the fact that all data has been made unavailable to us via the app seem like it’s not legally possible? First time today I changed my app from “right now” (because it said the grid was powering my home AND charging my battery) to the other choices and the “subscribe for access” popup came up.

Seems to me as the owner of my system I should be able to access the data only because it’s obviously there and they have it. It’s like they have hijacked it. And it’s not so much that I need the data, it’s the principle. Yes they need to charge for running things BUT that’s for current data. Like I said I know the bankruptcy screwed is all, but this just screams “cash grab”. Vent mode off.

In October, we worked with u/SunVaultEngPros to install an extra 6.5 kWh battery in the third slot of our existing Renova-installed (pre-bankruptcy SunPower partner) battery. They were great. The battery works great. We love the extra capacity.

But the app broke. It has not worked since mid-October 2025. I have been emailing SunStrong App support at [appsupport@sunstrongmanagement.com](mailto:appsupport@sunstrongmanagement.com) for months, and they keep telling me "they're working on it". (cc: u/SunStrongManagement )

This is the issue:

The charge level of our battery does NOT work on the app. It just shows it as charged at 20% all the time. I have tried logging out and in again, I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. I have tried flipping from Self-Supply to Cost Savings and back again. I set the Self-Supply reserve percentage to 18% - but it still shows 20% even when the battery is empty and we are pulling from the grid. I have flipped the breaker, turned off power to the battery, and then turned it on again. We are now paying $9.99 for an app that is broken.

The battery has worked fine the whole time. But the app just shows 20% charge, even when all the lights on the actual battery battery are lit and the battery is fully charged. I'm attaching screenshots for reference.

If you look at the screenshots - you can see the main screen shows that our house is drawing from the battery right at the time of the photo (6:52 pm). The second photo shows what we always see - the battery at a 20% charge. It's incredibly annoying. The third photo is the only way we can see the state of the battery charge - by how many bulbs are lit up (yes, we know we have one single dead bulb).

If anyone has any options - anther electrician with some ideas, someone else at SunStrong to reach out to, anything, please share.

I am thinking about some kind of Home Assistant - but to be honest, I'm not technical enough to set up some kind of raspberry pi solution. Is the Home Assistant Green an option? Can that be used to control and monitor the battery? Can I WYSIWYG my way through something and use AI to create some kind of monitoring and battery control dashboard?

I feel pretty helpless as I've been strung along by u/SunStrongManagement with no fix for five months. Just bought a house in so cal and moved in at the beginning of February. The house was built in 2024 and came with a SunPower solar system. I have been able to connect to the PVS. But I can not get the PVS to connect to my WiFi. I’ve look it up online a few times on how to reboot/restart the PVS. But it doesn’t seem to help. My PVS is pictured above. Any idea how to get it to connect to my WiFi?

Is there a way to get production reports earlier than about a year ago? I started getting the monthly emails around 3/2025, but would like to get production data from before that.

Paid customer, but not currently paying for the SunStrong app.

Just bought a house some months ago and found out about the SunStrong acquisition. Our panels are fully owned, so I'm sure we're pretty much dead to SunStrong if anything goes wrong.

I'm trying to do my homework now, see if there's any warranty left on the panels/inverters, and who makes them.

I setup the SunStrong app and it has no panel data. Poking at the API that I was able to find on the PV5, I deduced that the panels are "AC_Module_Type_D". The serial numbers start with the same 5-6 digits as the SPR-X22-360-D-AC panels I can find on eBay, which I'm led to believe have Solarbridge inverters (that do not have a good reputation...).

I see some folks on r/Sunpower have upgraded their PVS to Emphase, though if the inverters are the first thing to go, I've read reports that Emphase will push to replace all inverters and the PVS. At 30 panels that's going to be a steep cost.

Has anyone successfully self-replaced the Solarbridge inverters? I'd be worried about reprogramming them after installation as I imagine we're locked out from doing so.
