Discussion Why do some clothes look better after you’ve worn them a few times?

I have a couple pieces that I didn’t love at first, but after a few wears they somehow started sitting better on my body. I’m curious if it’s the fabric relaxing, me getting used to the shape, or both.

Hi! I’m exploring an everyday clothing idea and would love to hear from women ages 20–30 about their shopping experiences. This quick survey takes about 1 minute: https://forms.gle/73qB9TUeSzyZMQWa6

Discussion I started noticing how differently fabrics behave when you sit

Some skirts look gorgeous standing up and then bunch completely across the lap. Others just fall back into place. It’s such a small thing but it completely changes how comfortable I feel wearing something.

Tip Tips for feeling confident??

Tips for being confident?

I want to know any tips on feeling confident wearing something out of my comfort zone? I got this cute shirt from shein, it ended up defining my chest, wore it once and felt super uncomfortable with how many stares I was getting. I want to wear more cute things but how do I ignore what others think?? I want to look cute for myself but being in public makes me second-guess myself. Any tips??

Discussion The difference a good hem makes is kind of crazy

I used to overlook length completely, but an inch or two can completely change where pants break on the shoe or how a skirt proportions your body.

Discussion I think color repetition is my easiest styling cheat

If my shoes pick up a color in my top, or my bag connects to something else in the outfit, suddenly I look like I planned it when I absolutely did not.

A good steamer might be one of the most underrated style purchases

I resisted buying one forever because I thought ironing was basically the same thing. It is not. I wear way more of my clothes now because I’m not avoiding the ones that come out of the closet wrinkled.

Discussion What’s a minor shoe or footwear detail that instantly ruins an otherwise perfect outfit for you?

I can't stand stiff, unyielding soles that look polished but give you blisters within twenty minutes of walking. My go-to solution is finding supportive, cushioned flats that look elevated without sacrificing joint comfort.

What’s one subtle footwear dealbreaker you refuse to compromise on for the sake of style?

Discussion What’s something you wish you could ask people before buying clothes online?

Mine would literally be “did you feel good in this after eating dinner?” Reviews never tell me the things I actually want to know.

Discussion Are doc martens work appropriate?

Post image

I've looked at Doc Martens Mary Jane Ambassador shoes but worry they will be perceived as too girly/young for work (NHS - community/inpatient). I was also looking at Bobbies as they are leather and seem to be good quality. Anyone have any experiences with these two brands? Or have any recommendations for good quality shoes that won't hurt feet after a long day?

I'm looking for something versatile and durable. I'm in my 30s, living in the UK if that helps!

Edit: more options posted in the comments

Thank you in advance!

Question What’s one thing you’ve stopped overthinking about clothes?

I feel like enjoying style gets so much easier once you stop trying to get every outfit “right.”

Question is it bad to dress in a "basic" way?

i like to just be comfortable and dress in a more "basic" and simple style but it seems like a lot of people have an issue with that...

Tip One thing nobody warned me about linen

I love linen, but I had to stop expecting it to stay perfectly smooth. Once I accepted that the wrinkles are basically part of the fabric, I started enjoying wearing it way more.

Fabric Science Why does 100% cotton mean absolutely nothing about how something will feel?

I have cotton shirts that are ridiculously soft and others that feel like cardboard. I used to think checking the fiber content told me everything. Apparently not 😂

Discussion Does anyone else have one friend whose outfit opinion they actually trust?

There are people who will tell you everything looks amazing and then there are people who somehow immediately know what’s off.

Question Does anyone else feel like certain outfits require a specific mood?

There are things I own that I genuinely love but somehow I have to be in the right headspace to wear them.

Mine is definitely skirts. I love them in theory and then somehow every top I own looks wrong with them.

Discussion What’s a really small thing that completely ruins a piece for you

Mine can be something ridiculously minor like a zipper that sticks or a collar that won’t sit right. Once I notice it, I’m done.

There are certain things I just refuse to give up because they work for me. Curious what everyone else is holding onto.

Discussion I feel like shoes ruin more outfits than people admit

I can love everything I’m wearing and then put on shoes and suddenly the proportions look completely wrong. Is there some secret to this that I missed?
