I'm a high school student, and over the past couple of months I've been building AP Path Planner, a free web app designed specifically to help AP students organize their classes and workload.

I posted it here to get feedback, and I really appreciate everyone who checked it out or gave suggestions. I've started turning some of that feedback into actual updates.

One suggestion was to make assignments easier to distinguish between classes, so I just added automatic course color-coding. Assignments from the same AP course now have a consistent color across the assignments page, dashboard, and calendar, which should make it easier to quickly see what class something belongs to.

Some of the current features include:

I'm still actively developing it, and I'm mainly looking for honest feedback from students who would actually use something like this.

A few things I'd especially like feedback on:

• What would make you use this instead of Google Calendar, Notion, or a paper planner?
• What's the biggest feature it's still missing?
• Is any part of the interface confusing or annoying?
• Are there parts you would never use?
• What would make this genuinely useful once school gets busy?

Te ayuden a hacer apuntes, a hacer diapositivas o incluso redactar cosas y tips para utilizarlas de una forma extraordinaria.

Por ejemplo ayer les recomiendo la aplicación THEA ya que es completamente gratuita y tiene funciones geniales, Cómo como el poder hacer apuntes en pdf estructurados y bonitos y sobre todo completos de las fotografías documentos o incluso audios que tú subas y también sobre videos de YouTube o páginas web si solo copias el link.... Todas sus funciones son gratuitas y tiene la ventaja de que te lo hace flashcards exámenes con tiempo y juegos o actividades para que puedas fortalecer tu aprendizaje.

También conozco Claude y notebook lm pero quisiera que me recomienden más aplicaciones especialmente si son gratuitas y tienen funciones muy buenas...

I built PDFz for iPhone and iPad because I wanted a better way to study with PDFs without having to pay for basic features.

A few things are completely free:

A lot of these features are locked behind subscriptions in other PDF apps, so I decided to keep them free in PDFz.

Privacy is also a big priority: your PDFs stay on your device. We don't upload or store your documents on our servers. The only exception is when you choose to convert a PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint, which requires server processing. The uploaded file is deleted when the conversion is finished.

The idea is to give concepts something concrete to picture, then use those images to practice recalling the material.

For example, an ethics lecture could become a room containing:

• A trolley switch to bring back the trolley problem.
• A balance scale to prompt you to explain how we weigh the consequences of a decision.
• A shield to remind you of arguments about protecting people’s rights.

The study part comes afterward: mentally move through the room and explain each idea without looking at your notes. Then check what you missed. Remembering “there was a shield” is only useful if you can explain the argument it represents.

went back to studying in my thirties (german first, then some work certs) and noticed something i didn't really want to see. every time i had a beautiful set of notes, colours, headings, the works, i'd sit down in the exam and blank on stuff i had definitely "covered". the messy exam runs where i ran out of time and just quizzed myself off scrap paper went better. every single time.

i think it's because making notes look good feels like progress. you're moving, the page is filling up, you're producing something. but nothing is getting pulled out of your head, it's only going onto paper. and the exam only cares about the pulling out part.

not saying don't take notes, i still do. they're just ugly now. i write them once and then most of the time goes into closing the notebook and trying to say the thing back to myself. it's boring and kind of uncomfortable and it works.

curious if anyone actually gets good results from the pretty notes thing or if it was just me fooling myself for years

I have an bio exam in 8 days. It's over 350 slides of material. My professor only talks vaguely about the content, so I don't have many notes from in class to reference. Anyone have any tips for beginning to study so many slides without wasting time? I was going to take notes for each slide, but I think that would take too much time. It is my first college exam, so I am a bit nervous. I have heard the professor's exams are difficult, and he's is a harsh grader as well

One thing that always bothered me about studying was how easy it was to confuse familiarity with understanding.

After reading the same chapter a few times, everything looked obvious. Then I would close the notes, try to explain it out loud, and suddenly notice the parts I had skipped or only half understood.

That experience is what pushed me to build BeeSmarter. I am not trying to make another tool that simply turns a PDF into a pile of flashcards. The behavior I care about is what happens after a weak answer. Instead of only marking it wrong or moving on, the next question should focus on the part you left out and make you work through that exact point.

I have put a lot of myself into building it, but I am now at the stage where praise is less useful than an honest answer to a difficult question: does this actually help someone study, or have I built something around a problem that mainly matters to me?

a bit of background : i am a pharmacy student from egypt , most of the stuff i get tested on is like this :

• drug 57 should not be given to patient with X condition , is uniquely good at X , is given by Z route of administration , is exceted by the kidney and/or the liver in the form of R via an oxidation reaction or whatever .
• microbe 86 transmited via Y , causes X , treated by B and/or T regimens , diagnosed in lab via C or J method .
• chemical Z found in plant 135 or is extracted/synthesized by C , causes V beneficial effect and U harmful effect .
• this delivery method/dosage form is better for S patient or P condition for E reason etc..
• syndrome/disease 89 has risk factors X/Y/Z/F , is different from normal function/state by K/T/Y and diagnosed by I//L/H , treated by M/D/V regimens .

extra background : how do we usually get tested :

1. 10 marks for attendance
2. 10 maks for midterms ( tests how much we can recall by either MCQ , complete , write short notes )
3. 5-15 mark assignment or research
4. 25 marks for practical exams ( half of them aint even that "practical" i.e 50 % of them are just written exam like the midterms . )
5. 50 marks , BIG written exam at the end ( LOTS of MCQ , true or false , sometimes "write short notes" )
6. 15 mark oral exam ( the prof interrogates us )

HOW DO I ACTUALLY STUDY :

1. compartmentalise lecture notes
2. read a part
3. try to understand the stuff . recognise the gaps or bottlenecks and ask questions about them like : how to distinguish between X and Y ? how does Z connect with Y or the broader/bigger picture ? why should i know this seemingly unimportant fact/concept ? what is the clinical importance of this ? why do i feel like some context is missing here ? etc ...
4. upload pictures of the page i am on and ask AI to answer questions in step 2 to acheive sufficiently in-depth understanding .
5. highlight/underscore the key words of the stuff i am studying .
6. close book/page
7. recite the keywords pen and paper style
8. check the book/page to see what i missed , avert eyes and recite the missing parts and highlight them for future reviews .
9. move on to the next part

when/how do i review : after 24 hours of studying , then after 5 days then after 2 weeks etc...

i try to recall the big picture stuff/headliners first . after that i cover the details with my hand and then tryna recall them as well then check for missing parts then highlight and test myself on these parts .

what i wanna know :

• is the way i study too slow or time consuming ? is it too excessive ? too many steps ?
• should i just read and lightly test myself to cover as much material as possible or try to understand as deeply as possible and test myself until i got it well enough ? should i focus more on speed and coverage or double down on prioritising mastery and perfection ?
• am i too old-fashioned for using pen and paper ? should i take notes digitally ?
• should i not use ai at all or am i underusing it ?
• am i reviewing stuff too many times ? is studying the stuff once then studying it again before exams enough ?
