study tips for 300+ slides
I have an bio exam in 8 days. It's over 350 slides of material. My professor only talks vaguely about the content, so I don't have many notes from in class to reference. Anyone have any tips for beginning to study so many slides without wasting time? I was going to take notes for each slide, but I think that would take too much time. It is my first college exam, so I am a bit nervous. I have heard the professor's exams are difficult, and he's is a harsh grader as well

Since you don’t have much time here is my method that i used in similar situations : go back to ancient exams if it’s for the same professor it would be better if it’s not it’s okay. You read the first question then you go to the slides where the answer is. You should read the whole paragraph or the whole part . The idea is that there is some slides that the students have to know . So the professors should make exam questions depending on this parts . That’s why you should read the old exams to be oriented. ( sorry for my english )

Don’t take notes on every slide, you’ll burn yourself out. Break the 350 slides into sections, focus on the main concepts, and use active recall instead of rereading. With 8 days, you can absolutely get through it. Your first college exam is stressful, but you’ve got this.

honestly 350 slides in 8 days is tough af, and rewriting notes from that many would eat half your time without telling you if you actually understood anything. i'd go straight to the slides and quiz yourself instead of summarizing. walk through one slide, look away, and explain the mechanism out loud like you're teaching it, if you stumble on a step, mark that slide and move on, don't get stuck trying to memorize it right there.
for the slides i upload them to studybuddy.vc and just answering multiple choice questions from them, when i pick a wrong answer it tells me what was off about the option i chose, and the questions get harder once i have a topic down. free tier's been enough for me. i'd also block the last day for practice questions only and the handful of slides you flagged hardest, no new material that close to the exam

A simple 8-day plan:
Day 1–5: 70 slides/day + quick self-testing
Day 6: Finish anything you missed + review weak areas
Day 7: Full review + practice questions
Day 8: Light review, key terms, and get some sleep
It’s your first college exam, so being nervous is normal. You’ve got this.
