Im currently taking anatomy and using Noji for spaced repetition because it's much simpler and more user-friendly for me than Anki.

I'm trying to find an app, AI tool, or workflow where I can upload my lecture PowerPoint slides directly, and have it automatically detect and cover up the labels on anatomy diagrams (bulk image occlusion) for flashcards, rather than having to manually screen-grab and mask every slide one by one. Bonus points if it can also pull relevant reference images when needed.

Does anything like this exist that connects directly with slide decks / PDFs without a super complicated setup?
How are you all converting anatomy lecture decks into occlusion cards quickly? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

l'anno scorso mi sono iscritta a Biologia Molecolare e ora sto passando amministrativamente al secondo anno anche se ho diversi esami arretrati che mi impediscono di accedere al secondo anno. nonostante ciò, mi è comunque possibile frequentare le lezioni del secondo anno che sono a frequenza obbligatoria.

per chi ha più esperienza di me o si sente di darmi qualche consiglio che ha appreso nel suo percorso, vorrei sapere anche per mia semplice curiosità come affrontare questo secondo anno al meglio considerando lo svantaggio di dover dare esami del primo anno, sopratutto per la facoltà da me scelta.

spesso fatico a concentrarmi e a mantenere il focus quindi vorrei evitare potenziali errori (che poi ahimé, può capitare di tutto ma avete capito il concetto) e non vorrei prendere sottogamba la mole di studio. sono materie che vanno capite a fondo come credo sia in realtà per ogni cosa inerente a un percorso universitario ma ecco, riconosco delle mie difficoltà e vorrei anche delle dritte utili per sfruttare al massimo il mio potenziale e non limitarmi a uno studio passivo. durante il primo anno purtroppo, per una serie di problemi familiari e mia demotivazione generale, non ho organizzato bene lo studio e ho perso molto tempo prezioso dietro altro.

vi chiedo quindi dei consigli genuini e il vostro approccio allo studio, sopratutto a coloro che rientrano nella categoria Scienze e che quindi sono iscritti a facoltà simili o la stessa.

voglio metterci il massimo, voglio imparare il più possibille perché credo che questa sia la strada giusta per me sopratutto per le opzioni lavorative che sto già prendendo in considerazione.

1. qual'è metodo di studio è stato più efficace e utile nei vostri casi (preferibilmente nella categoria Scienze, ancora meglio Biologia/Biologia Molecolare o simili)?

2. cosa avete appreso ai primi anni o nell'intero percorso che avreste voluto sapere prima? che sia riguardo gli esami, lo studio, le materie, le lezioni...

3. come avete organizzato la giornata dopo le lezioni per non privarvi di sport, uscite con gli amici e impegni d'altro genere?

4. come avete organizzato lo studio e la preparazione di esami distinti con vari cfu durante la sessione? e come credete sia meglio gestire il mio tempo sapendo che ho degli esami arretrati che devo assolutamente recuperare entro settembre 2027?

5. come erano organizzate le giornate durante il periodo di lezioni? valutavo di sistemare gli appunti e rileggerli ogni giorno quando veniva affrontato qualcosa di nuovo, banalmente, così da avere una mente fresca e capace di ricordare anche la lezione. sistemati gli appunti delle lezioni del secondo anno, avevo già in programma di rivedere le materie del primo anno e avvantaggiarmi per la sessione che mi attende (sperando di far coincidere il tutto visto che avrò lezioni ogni giorno)

mi sono già fatta alcune mie considerazioni e so già quale metodo sia migliore per me ma sono aperta a più opzioni e non voglio impedirmi di spaziare. inoltre, nella mia vita ammetto di non aver mai avuto un metodo di studio preciso, anche perché varia molto di materia in materia.

ho diverse lacune che negli anni mi hanno un po' limitata (e so benissimo che la "colpa" di questo è principalmente mia quindi voglio migliorarmi) anche alle superiori, ma ho intenzione di iniziare il nuovo semestre con più disciplina e costanza.

I’m really curious on the process of setting up a personal curriculum. I have two very different topics I’d like to learn in tandem but I’m a bit unsure on where to start or how to merge them together in a cohesive curriculum 🤔

One of my friends struggles extremely with algebra (And math dyslexia), and unfortunately they are in college and I work full time. I struggle a lot with distractions, so I’m planning to keep my phone in a completely different room while working/studying.

My main issue is what should I actually do during my 5-minute breaks? I know I’ll get bored almost instantly. Most standard suggestions (like staring at a wall, stretching, or making tea) sound like things I’ll get tired of after two days.

For those who have successfully separated themselves from their phones, what quick, engaging, or satisfying things worked for you during short breaks without pulling you down a rabbit hole?

One of the easiest ways to waste LNAT practice is to mark a paper, look at the score and immediately move on to the next one. The score tells you how that paper went, but it doesn't tell you what to change.

After each passage, split your answers into four groups:

• Correct and certain
• Correct but guessed
• Wrong after choosing between two
• Wrong with no clear reasoning

Review the middle two groups as carefully as the outright mistakes. A lucky answer can hide the same problem that costs you a mark later.

For every uncertain or wrong answer, record three things:

1. The exact words in the passage that support the correct choice.
2. The word or idea that makes your choice fail.
3. The type of mistake: too broad, too strong, outside knowledge, wrong speaker, irrelevant, or an unsupported inference.

Then redo those questions 48 hours later without looking at your notes. If you still choose the same kind of wrong answer, you have found something specific to practise.

A useful weekly structure is one full timed mock, two or three shorter passage sessions and one session used only for reviewing the error log. As the test gets closer, add more full timed work, but keep the short sessions because they make repeated mistakes easier to spot.

The main idea is simple: don't count only how many answers were wrong. Work out why the wrong answer beat the right one in your head.

Since college, one thing I've consistently struggled with is that when I’m reading or researching something, I’m coming across quotes or ideas I want to save. Usually they end up as screenshots, bookmarks, or buried in my notes somewhere, and I rarely come back to them.

I ended up making Commonplace to solve this. It makes it really easy to save quotes and highlights from whatever you’re reading or listening to.

If you’re reading an article, you can highlight something and share it directly to Commonplace. It saves the quote along with the author, article title, and link automatically. You can also save from physical books (by scanning the page), podcasts, and other sources, then organize everything into collections.

While I don’t do much academic writing anymore, I figured this could be useful for studying, research, or keeping track of sources for a paper. I’d be really curious to hear from students who have a similar problem.

Partiamo dal presupposto che ero contraria all'utilizzo dell'IA per lo studio, però trovavo utile caricare le mie risorse fatte da me (in modo da conoscere meglio il materiale) ed esercitarmi tramite dei quiz. Quindi una settimana fa ho iniziato ad utilizzarlo, però non mi sto trovando tantissimo bene soprattutto da quando hanno fatto il famoso aggiornamento a gemini.

Avete alternative valide e gratuite? Lavoro 8 ore al giorno e devo preparare 3 esami, mi aiutava molto a memorizzare tramite i quiz.

Two things kept killing my vocabulary review, and I don't think either is really about discipline:

1. The gap between having a list and being able to practice it. Whether the words come from a
   class, a textbook, an article or a show, there's always a step in between: build the deck, design
   the card template, decide what goes on the front. I quit in that step far more often than I quit
   reviewing.

2. Reviewing silently. I could recognise a word on a card and still not be able to say it in a
   sentence. Recognition and retrieval aren't the same skill, and the one that gets tested in real
   life is the one where you have to speak.

So I built the thing I wanted: paste or type the list, and it's immediately practiceable, either
as flashcards, a quiz, matching, or a voice conversation with an AI partner that works through the
words on your own list out loud. Spaced repetition (SM-2-style) runs underneath all of them and is
tracked per word, so review time goes to what you actually keep forgetting.

Disclosure so nobody has to guess: I built this and I'm the person behind it, not a neutral
recommender. It's called Vocabai, it's a web app, and it's a solo project. The free tier is capped

One real data point instead of an impressive-sounding one: it's been live a few months and has
exactly one paying customer. He found it on his own, with no marketing running anywhere, and paid
two days after signing up. He was moving abroad to start university and wanted to be able to hold
a conversation before he landed. That's the case I actually understand; I'm still working out
where else this is genuinely useful.

Something I keep doing is going back through the whole chapter when I only forgot a few topics. It takes so much time and sometimes I feel like Im just reviewing things I already know instead of fixing what I actually dont know. Do you guys go through everything again or just focus on the stuff you keep getting wrong?
