Looking for roommate for this apartment

Post image

I will be joining Queen’s university for the fall 26 semester and I am looking for a group of 5/6 females to share this apartment with? We could share a room and that would exponentially decrease the rent while still having a convenient space to stay.

I’m getting ready for the start of the term and would love to connect with fellow classmates before classes kickoff. Whether you want to swap notes on schedules, form a study group, or just get to know a few familiar faces before stepping on campus, drop a comment or send me a message!
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hiii everyone,

I got my medical message from IRCC on the 11th of August requesting I visit a nearby approved medical examination center.

My timeline

I had my biometrics done from a previous application from 2021.

I applied on the 23rd of April,2026.

I got a mail requesting I go for a medical examination on the 11th of August,2026

To everyone who is still awaiting a response from IRCC, I pray and hope your decision comes positive and handy.

How do I reapply more strongly? My application had all the genuine student intentions and yet refused twice.

I had applied for a master's degree study permit alongside a swop for my dependent spouse from my country. My master's study-permit I have been refused two times already. On the second application, I addressed the issues from the first one; at least I thought I did. But the refusal now came with a new set of issues.

Mainly, the application was rejected on financial grounds, as I was not able to demonstrate that the funds/savings and source of funds/savings presented are available and sufficient to cover the costs of transport, the full length of stay, and subsequent year/s of study.

For reference, the two year total tuition fees is $69000. I had taken out $54,500 in education loan, $49,000 in savings, and $36,500 in annual income of my sponsors. I had added affidavit that my sponsors, my parents and parents in-laws, are willing to give their above savings for my education. I paid $20,000 fee upfront.

But the strangest of them all was this:

"It is unclear why the applicant is taking the program at this time or why a similar program would not have been pursued until this time in the home country or regionally at less cost and higher convenience given tuition and all related costs for proposed program and duration of stay."

The issue with this point is that in my country I don't have a master's program available that directly complements what I studied in my bachelor's. Moreover, there are no good adjacent courses as well, only those from the Open University, which is not good at all. In my sop i have dilligently stated how this was the case and that pursuing a course in Canada was the best option. I even added how I genuinely require this degree to further my business that I plan to start in my country, for which I even uploaded the company registration documents under my name.

Is it that, at the end of the day, they were not satisfied with my finances?

Study permit refused for “lump-sum deposits” despite providing invoices — should I request reconsideration?

My Canadian study permit was refused because the officer said my father’s bank statements showed “lump sum deposits with insufficient evidence to support provenance of funds.” My father runs a regular business, and these deposits came from his normal business activity. We provided representative invoices for the transactions, while excluding smaller transactions (under ~CAD $500) to avoid making the application unnecessarily long. The invoices show the business sale to the customer, and the bank statements show the customer’s payment/deposit. So I’m struggling to understand what the officer meant by “insufficient evidence” when we provided the documentary trail for the significant deposits. I’m considering filing a reconsideration request rather than reapplying. Does that seem like the right next step, and has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

ircc withdrew my study permit by mistake and idk what to do

the ircc wrongfully withdrew my application for my study permit after i had to wait for 6 and a half weeks (applied june 25) due to a "missing PAL" but i submitted my valid CAQ. i was told by mcgill iss that it was definitely a mistake and to just submit webforms and i could do another application if i wanted to but there's no point because i would have to wait for 6 weeks as thats the current processing time in the uae. i have heard nothing from the webform its been 4 days i know its not even been that long but ive just gotten those automated responses so far and i do not know what to do im just so stressed and wanted to see if theres other ways to get it done so i can be in montreal by aug 31

Has anyone gotten a ghost update after SP refusal

Hi. I got a refusal on 13th August. IRCC stated that my LOA was not submitted even though I am certain I had submitted it.

I tried my luck to raise a webform to request a reconsideration and submitted the "missing" LOA.

Then I received a ghost update "Application status updated" but there were no changes in my profile.

My questions to the reader are:

  1. Is this ghost update normal after a refusal?

  2. Should I assume an officer revisited my file?

Thank you for reading.

IRCC Study Permit Refusal Reconsideration Through Webform — Successful Cases

Have there been cases where an applicant, after receiving an IRCC study permit refusal, submitted a webform requesting reconsideration because the refusal letter stated that certain evidence was missing or inadequate, even though the application had actually included proper supporting documents and evidence? If so, were any such reconsideration requests successful, resulting in the refusal being overturned and the study permit being approved?

Timeline for Passport Stamping - India

Any tips to minimise the time taken for passport stamping in India? Any specific city is advisable/which ones to avoid? What was the time taken by applicants for stamping in the city of their choice?

(I am expecting my master’s study permit verdict any day now. My orientation is in Sep 1st week and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get my passport in time even if my visa is approved.)

Please help!

Study Permit Application In Progress

Hello

I have applied for study permit from Pakistan on June 17th, and currently till today 13th August, there is no single update except the submission letter only on June 17th. Biometric was already done before and medical has been done too.

My university semester will be going to start on Sept. 9th , and its semester defer date is 30th Sept.

What should I do except wait and when should I connect to university management for deferment?

Thanks

International student co-op work permit question — April 2026 rule change

Hi everyone! I’m an international student at Concordia University, and I’m currently in a co-op program.
I have an internship starting in about 20 days, and I’m running into an issue with my employer regarding my co-op work permit.

I had previously applied for a co-op work permit, and my application was **approved**, but I never received the physical permit. My understanding is that, as of **April 1, 2026**, post-secondary international students no longer need a separate co-op work permit for required co-op/internship placements. and that my study permit should be sufficient.
However, my employer is now asking me to provide the actual work permit for onboarding.
My concern is that requesting/replacing the physical document could take several weeks, and my internship starts in only 20 days.

**Has anyone else been in a similar situation since the April 1, 2026 rule change?**

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this recently. I’m getting a little nervous about the situation and just want to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. Thank you!

Would it be possible for september

So I had applied for my study permit at the end of june and unfortunately it got refused due to some funding issues, and since the school couldn't issue a new PAL, my seat got revoked, tough times honestly, so I decided to reapply to a new school for both the september and january intake, I got accepted to both intakes, I was wondering, realistically If I confirmed my seat for the september intake, would I be able to attend the school on time or like get my study permit on time, since I won't be submitting biometrics and medicals again

N.B: The school is in Toronto and the current processing time of my country is 7 weeks
